    What Is The Pillow Method For Manifestation?

    The pillow method is one of the simplest and most straightforward manifestation games you can regularly practice to help you create the life you desire. This is a great practice for new and experienced manifestors alike, as you can choose how in-depth with this method you want to go.

    So how do you practice the pillow manifestation method?

    These are the most basic directions: write an affirmation on a piece of paper and place that paper under your pillow for a set amount of days. Let that affirmation be the last thing you think about as you fall asleep, allowing it to sink into your subconscious brain. Let go, surrender control, and allow the Universe to deliver your manifestation in your physical experience.

    Now, if you stopped right there, you’d have enough information to try this manifestation method tonight. But to get the most out of this practice, there are a few additional steps you can take (that really don’t take much additional time at all).

    In this article, you’ll learn how to write effective affirmations for the pillow method as well as how to incorporate scripting into your nightly manifestation routine. Plus, I’ll share some of my favorite resources that you can use today to amplify your manifestation practice.

    How To Write Affirmations For The Pillow Method

    The affirmations you write for this manifestation method aren’t the typical mindset affirmations you often hear, such as “I am worthy.” (Though you absolutely can write mindset affirmations and place them under for your pillow to positively influence your subconscious beliefs.)

    For the pillow method, you’re going to use what I typically refer to as future pacing affirmations.

    These are affirmations in which you state that what you want to manifest is already yours. For instance, if you want to manifest financial prosperity, you might write something like, “Financial abundance continually flows my way through multiple streams of income.”

    You could also write, “I am financially free with a limitless abundance of wealth and prosperity.”

    Likewise, if you want to manifest love, you might write, “I am in a committed, loving relationship with a partner who truly cherishes and adores me.”

    To manifest a job, you could write, “I am in my dream job, making a positive difference in people’s lives and doing what I love every single day.” (If there’s a specific job you want, then replace “dream job” with the title of your ideal position.)

    Here are the keys to writing a successful affirmation to use for the pillow method:

    • Use present tense statements such as I am, I feel, and I have – not “I will be . . .”
    • Choose something that feels truly good to you and you believe wholeheartedly that you can manifest. Don’t write, “I am a millionaire,” if you don’t truly believe this is possible for you. Take baby steps as you reprogram your subconscious beliefs, and do any necessary healing within. Maybe one day, you will be able to write those four words, but don’t force it right now if it doesn’t feel good to you.
    • If you’re a beginner, try not to be too rigid with the timeframe. Again, at some point, you might be able to include a timeframe in your affirmation. But I’ve found that when you’re just starting out, putting a timeframe on your manifestation can make you so preoccupied and stressed about the self-imposed deadline that you can’t simply relax and allow the manifestation to unfold naturally.

    Incorporating Scripting Into The Pillow Method

    Another practice I like to incorporate into the pillow method is scripting. Scripting is the practice of writing about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest. It’s similar to the future pacing affirmations I described above, but instead of writing one sentence, you’re writing paragraphs dedicated to immersing yourself in the life of your dreams.

    For instance, you can script what it feels like to walk through a day in your dream life. You can also script as though you’re writing a journal entry. In your journal entry, imagine that it’s the end of the day, and you’re living the life of your dreams. How did you feel when you woke up today? Where were you? What did you do and who did you interact with throughout your day? Describe it all in detail, using all of your senses.

    To incorporate scripting into your pillow method, think about what you want to manifest. Then, script what your life would look like if you already had this thing. Describe it in full detail, allowing yourself to feel all the positive emotions of having your desire in the present moment.

    In the energy of love and gratitude, place your script under the pillow. Before you fall asleep at night, take a moment to once again visualize having your desires right now. Feel positive energy flowing through you: love, gratitude, joy, freedom, peace, and true abundance.

    How Long Should You Keep Your Affirmation Under Your Pillow?

    There are a lot of differing opinions here. Some people say to continue to keep your affirmation or script under your pillow until your manifestation comes true. Some say 7 or 8 days. I’ve also seen recommendations of less and more time.

    At the end of the day, you’re empowered to do what feels right to you. My personal belief is that you shouldn’t just continue to keep your piece of paper under your pillow until it comes true. Why? Because then you’re never truly letting it go. And this is a key component to manifesting your desires: letting go, releasing your dreams to the Universe, and trusting that everything is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to.

    For this reason, I generally recommend keeping your note under your pillow for 7 to 10 days. This gives you enough time to allow this desired manifestation to become an inextricable part of you without clinging too tightly for too long.

    Again, though, I urge you to do what feels right. Don’t worry too much about arbitrary rules and guidelines. Follow your inner knowing.

    Other Resources To Use To Amplify Your Practice

    For the pillow method to work, all you truly need is a writing device and something to write on. The magic of this practice doesn’t come from outside of yourself; it comes from you. More than anything, I want you to embrace your own inner magic and not rely too much on outside materials. A plain piece of notebook paper works just as well as fancy stationary; it only matters what makes you feel good.

    So with that said, I’m adding just a few items here that I personally use and find helpful in amplifying my manifestations. Again, none of these things can come close to matching the power you possess within. What they do is amplify and support your goals, protect you from negative energy, and help you to cultivate more positive energy in your inner and outer worlds. (And maybe bring you a little bit of luck!)

    Crystals & Gemstones

    I’m a big proponent of crystals, not just for manifestation but for supporting your entire health and well-being: mind, body, and soul. At all times, I have Citrine, Green Jade, Black Tourmaline, and Blue Lace Agate rings on as well as a Clear Quartz bracelet. I sleep with Amethyst on my nightstand. There’s Pyrite on my desk, and just a few feet away from my desk is a collection of over a dozen crystals and gemstones.

    I’ve found that using crystals in my daily routine just makes me feel better. They protect my energy and help me to approach each day with a sense of calm, clarity, and confidence.

    If you’re using the pillow method for manifestation, it definitely never hurts to incorporate a few crystals and gemstones into your routine. After cleansing and charging your crystals with your intentions (learn how to do this here), keep them on your nightstand as you sleep.

    Here’s a brief rundown of crystals you can use depending on what you want to manifest. In this article, I go more in depth on using crystals for manifestation.

    • Love: Rose Quartz, Rhodonite
    • Wealth: Citrine, Pyrite
    • Health: Garnet, Bloodstone
    • Creativity: Carnelian
    • Success: Green Jade, Aventurine

    Manifestation Oils

    Manifestation oils are specialized blends of essential oils and herbs formulated to aid you in manifesting your desires. There are lots of ways you can use manifestation oils: add a drop to a piece of jewelry, your vision board, a dollar bill, a photograph or letter, or another object that represents your desires and intentions. You can also add a drop to your body; just make sure the product you’re using is safe to use for this purpose.

    For the pillow method, you can add a drop of your chosen manifestation oil to your piece of paper before placing it under your pillow. I personally use manifestation oils because they help to lift my energy so I’m more open to receiving guidance and answers from the Universe. I’ve also found that they tend to bring me an extra dash of luck, which is always welcome. (And they also smell really good.)

    What Is The Law Of Attraction?

    The foundation of the Law of Attraction is the idea that the energy you put out into the world is what you get back in return. This is intrinsically tied to the concept of manifestation, which is when you intentionally put out the energy of what you want to receive more of in your life. In manifestation terms, you’ll hear this referred to as vibrating at the frequency of your desires.

    For instance, let’s say you want to manifest romantic love. You’re ready to settle down and find that one person you can commit to and share your life with.

    Before, you might’ve felt like you weren’t truly lovable until you found that person. Essentially, you waited until love appeared in your life before you felt the positive emotions associated with love.

    But in manifestation, you don’t wait until your desire appears before you finally start feeling these positive emotions. Instead, you allow yourself to feel these positive emotions right now. How do you imagine feeling when your future partner appears in your life? Will they make you feel loved, respected, and treasured?

    What would happen if you allowed yourself to feel loved, respected, and treasured right now instead of waiting?

    This is the essence of manifestation.

    Now, let’s take it a step further. The most profound way to receive more love in your life is to give more love. Walk through your life with an open heart. Express love through your actions. Be the embodiment of love in your words and feelings.

    This isn’t limited to manifesting love, though. Do you want to manifest more success? Become the embodiment of success in your everyday world. Do you want to manifest financial wealth? Allow yourself to feel financially wealthy now. Walk into every life experience as though you are pure abundance.

    There’s a great quote by an anonymous source that sums up the essence of manifestation and the Law of Attraction perfectly:

    “What you think, you create. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you become.”

    So why is gratitude so important when it comes to the Law of Attraction?

    Simply put, gratitude and love are the highest vibrations you can tap into. (Other powerful positive vibrations include joy, empowerment, and freedom.)

    When you can tap into any of these feelings, you are vibrating at the highest frequencies available to you. Essentially, you become a magnet for experiences that bring you more joy, love, empowerment, freedom, and gratitude.     But gratitude in particular is especially powerful, and here’s why:

    • Gratitude invites an abundance mentality. Through the lens of gratitude, you view your life in terms of all that you have, not all that you lack.
    • When you express gratitude for all that you have, you’re essentially saying, “More of this please.” Expressing gratitude for the love that exists in your life invites more love to come forward. Expressing gratitude for the money you possess (even if it’s not a lot by other people’s standards) opens you up to receiving more money. It’s like putting an order into the Universe: “This is what I have that I really appreciate, and I’m open to receiving more of it.”
    • Gratitude erases feelings of desperation, frustration, and hopelessness. It can instantly lift you into a higher vibration in a way that most other feelings can’t. For instance, if you’re feeling frustrated, it’s really hard to tap into joy in that moment. But if you meet your frustration halfway by saying, “I’m frustrated by this experience, but I know there’s still so much in my life to be grateful for,” it becomes a little easier to lift your vibration.

    How To Practice Gratitude

    So what are the best methods for practicing gratitude when it comes to the Law of Attraction? There are lots of ways to practice gratitude, but the key to each method is sincerity. You can write down a couple things in your life you feel grateful for each morning, but are you doing it with a sincere heart? Or are you simply writing these things down because it’s what you think you’re “supposed” to do?

    One way to help you practice sincere gratitude is to include a “why” statement for each thing you acknowledge. This is helpful because it prompts you to truly think about how this thing is making a profound difference in your life.

    Here are some examples of how to do this:

    • I am grateful for my best friend because she always tells me exactly what I need to hear.
    • I am grateful for my home because it offers warmth, protection, and security.
    • I am grateful for my strong legs because they allow me to walk, run, hike, dance, and move my body in ways that feel good to me.

    Sincerity is the key to practicing gratitude when it comes to the Law of Attraction. Don’t simply acknowledge what you’re grateful for with empty words. Feel the depth of your gratitude deep within. Let it shine from the inside out and blanket every cell of your being.

    Methods For Practicing Gratitude

    Want to start a meaningful gratitude practice that will help you manifest more incredible people, things, and experiences to be grateful for? Here are some ways you can start:

    • Write down one to three things you feel sincerely grateful for each morning.
    • Keep a gratitude journal. (In this article, you’ll find 53 gratitude journal prompts to help you discover reasons to be thankful as you cultivate true joy within.)
    • Create phone notifications to go off at random times during the day. Each time you see one of these notifications, pause and think about something you feel grateful for in this moment.
    • Verbally express gratitude to the people in your life regularly. This includes people you know personally (family, friends, coworkers) as well as other people you interact with (baristas, cashiers, waiters, bank tellers).

    Tips For Practicing Gratitude To Manifest Your Desires

    Tip #1: Express gratitude for your manifestations before they’ve actually arrived in your present experience

    Don’t wait until you’ve received your desired manifestations to begin feeling grateful for them. Feel grateful for them right now, just as you will on the day when they actually come true.

    Why does this work? You may have heard of the phrase, “Live as if.” Manifestation is all about vibrating at the frequency of your desires, and there’s no better way to do that than to live each day as if all of your dreams have already come true.

    Feeling gratitude in advance directly correlates with the idea of living as if. If you’re constantly living in lack, waiting for something to happen and focusing on its absence, you disconnect yourself from the experience of having that thing. But when you live as if your dreams have already come true, you feel true gratitude and appreciation for this life of your dreams.

    And because of this, you’re no longer searching for that thing out there; it’s within. And when it’s within, you’re directly connected to that thing.

    Connect yourself to the life of your dreams by expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation for the abundance that already exists within. When you do this, you become a magnet for everything you could ever dream of (and more).

    Tip #2: Express gratitude for challenges, obstacles, and negative experiences

    This is where the real magic happens.

    These experiences are your opportunities for growth. This is how you build resilience. Every single negative experience is providing you with a lesson you need to hear. Choosing gratitude in these moments is going to help you learn the lesson a lot faster than choosing frustration or anger.

    Your life will radically transform when you begin to understand how these experiences aren’t happening to you; they’re happening for you. (And the next step? As you become more and more conscious of your thoughts and inner state, experiences begin to happen through you.)

    Want to practice this now? Next time you’re driving and have to stop at a red light, inhale deeply and feel grateful for the opportunity to pause. When you’re stuck in a slow-moving line at the grocery store, stand still and allow yourself to feel appreciation for this moment in your life. Find normal, everyday experiences that usually bring you frustration, and consciously choose to feel gratitude instead.

    Nothing changes your life more than your perspective. When you consciously shift your perspective and understand the power of your thoughts, you master your inner world.

    And when you master your inner world, you master your life.

    How exactly do you manifest someone special into your life?

    This is one of the most common questions that comes up when people talk about manifestation, and to be honest, the topic can be a bit complex. Why? Because manifesting someone can be both super easy and not easy at all . . . at the same time.

    It’s easy in that it truly comes down to setting an intention, vibrating at the frequency of your desires, and preparing to receive your desired manifestation. And that’s not so bad, right?

    What makes it not so easy is that you may possess old wounds that need to be healed before you can truly allow someone into your life. The perfect person may come, but you need to be ready to let them in. And for some, that isn’t always as simple as it sounds. You’ll read more about this in Step 5: Connect to Your Heart Chakra.

    Below, I’m going to break down exactly how to manifest someone into your life with clear and easy-to-follow instructions. And to simplify it even further, I’ve put together a free workbook that will lead you through each step one at a time.

    Now, I want to note that while I’m mostly going to be focusing on manifesting a romantic relationship in this post, you can use these steps for non-romantic relationships (like manifesting a really awesome friendship) as well.

    And one last note: when you do these exercises, make them fun! Release the tension from your body. Lean into joy and positivity. Remember that you are worthy and deserving of wholehearted, unconditional love.

    In fact, you deserve to live the most beautiful life you can dream of for yourself. (And even then, you deserve to receive something even better than what you can imagine.)

    How to Manifest Someone: Step-By-Step Guide

    Step 1: Get Clear About What You Want

    Or, in this case, who you want.

    The key to a successful manifestation is to set specific intentions about what exactly it is that you want.

    One of the best comparisons I’ve heard for this is ordering a meal at a restaurant. How often have you gone out to eat and said to the waiter, “Just give me whatever, I don’t care”?

    Okay, maybe some of you have done this a time or two, but most people have specific preferences that will guide them toward what sounds best. Most of the time, when you’re at a restaurant, you’ll look over the menu, find something that looks appealing to you, then place your order with the waiter.

    But it’s not always that simple. Sometimes, you have to get even more specific. If you want them to hold the tomatoes or put your dressing on the side, you have to ask for it. This means you must release any worries about being seen as high-maintenance. You deserve to receive a meal that will please your tastebuds and live up to your expectations.

    This is the same for manifesting a partner. (Though chances are, your future partner will be a bit more complex than a salad.)

    Get clear about what exactly it is that you want in a partner. One of the best ways to do this is to make a simple list of all their qualities. List the attributes that are most important to you. Think about what your non-negotiables are.

    For instance, if you know you want to have kids one day, then it’s probably pretty important for you to find a partner who also wants kids. Or if you have a hard time staying in one place for too long and love to travel, you’ll most likely want to find someone who can keep up with your high-flying adventures.

    Also be sure to list how you want your partner to make you feel. Do you want to feel safe, respected, and supported by your partner? Write it down!

    You don’t have to list every single freckle (it’s good to remain a little flexible!), but by the end of this exercise, you want to have a clear vision of the person you could potentially spend the rest of your life with.

    Step 2: Release Limiting Beliefs That Don’t Serve You

    A limiting belief is a deep-seated belief that holds you back from realizing your true potential and living the life of your dreams. Limiting beliefs can come in many forms. Here are some examples of limiting beliefs that may be holding you back from manifesting someone special in your life:

    • I’m just too much of a loner to let someone in. It’ll never work.
    • Nobody will love me unless I lose twenty pounds.
    • If I put myself out there, I’ll just get my heart broken again.
    • I have to be in a successful career and make a really high income before I can be loved.

    How do you recognize your limiting beliefs? One practice is to sit and write down what exactly it is that you want to manifest. In this case, write down your image of a loving partner. As you reflect upon your desire, gently probe your thoughts.

    What’s stopping you from taking the next step to pursuing this desire? What fears do you possess? What beliefs are you clinging onto?

    As you answer these questions, choose not to judge or criticize yourself. Instead, have compassion for every step of your journey that’s led you here.

    I also like to make two columns on a piece of paper. For the heading of the first column, I write, “Limiting Beliefs I’m Releasing.” Under this column, I write down all the limiting beliefs that aren’t serving or supporting me.

    At the top of the next column, I write “New Reframed Belief.” Here, I take all the limiting beliefs I just wrote and turn them on their head. For instance, if the limiting belief is that you have to lose twenty pounds to be loved, in the next column, you might write, “I am worthy and deserving of perfect love just as I am.”

    Step 3: Script Your Dream Life

    Scripting is the act of writing your dreams and desires in story-like form. It’s similar to visualization, except instead of solely envisioning your dreams in your mind’s eye, you’re using pen and paper to write down what exactly it is that you want to manifest.

    This is one of my all-time favorite manifestation techniques, and I think it’s one of the most powerful, too. Not only does it help you get even more clear about your desires and intentions, but it also allows you to embrace your imagination and align with the positive emotions of having all your desires come true.

    The key to making scripting work is to treat it like you’re writing a story in that you only write in past and present tense, as if every single one of your dreams is happening or has already happened.

    Some people will say that it works best to write it in present tense, while others like to use past tense to describe something that already happened. I encourage you to try it both ways to see what feels best for you.

    Here’s an example of scripting your dream life in present tense:

    I wake up in a soft bed surrounded by plush pillows. I’m cuddled with the love of my life with our sweet cat burrowed between us. As the sun rises, so does my energy. I feel excited to experience the magic and wonder of this day!

    I step onto the hardwood floors and tiptoe out the door, carefully shutting the door behind me. As I walk through the house to the kitchen, I feel a sense of awe and gratitude for this beautiful home I get to call my own. It is exactly the home of my dreams: two-story with hardwood floors and giant windows that allow the sunshine to stream through the glass.

    I take a moment to stand in front of the sliding glass door by the dining room, and I take in the beautiful sights just outside our home.

    In this script, the writer is detailing a typical day in her dream life. As you can see, it’s all written in present tense. Rather than starting with, “In my dream life, I will wake up in a . . .” the writer starts as if this moment is in the here and now.

    You can also write it as though you’re describing a day as if it’s already happened. For instance, you can write about your first date as though it already happened, or you can reflect on your relationship from the perspective of your one-year or five-year anniversary.

    The key is to bring your desire into your reality right now, so that everything becomes tangible and real in your current experience.

    Scripting Prompts for Manifesting Someone

    Here are some prompts you can use for scripting. You’ll also find these in my free manifestation workbook below along with space to write your scripts!

    • Script your first meeting: You’ve just returned home from meeting your ideal partner ten minutes earlier. Write down all the details, including the emotions you felt in the moment and how you feel now.
    • Script your first vacation: You’re waking up on a beautiful morning during your first vacation as a couple. Describe all the details of where you are and how you feel in this moment.
    • Script your first anniversary: Today’s your first anniversary as a couple! Script your reflections on the past year and how it feels to be in such a positive, supportive, loving relationship.
    • Script your fifth anniversary: You’ve now been together for five years. Reflect on some of the best moments of the past five years and how you feel after five years with your partner.
    • Script a day in the life: What does a normal day look like with your partner? Describe all the details, including what you do and how you feel.

    Scripting Tips

    • Don’t just write; feel. As you write about the feelings of love, peace, freedom, and abundance, don’t allow the words to solely exist on the paper; allow them to exist right now in this present moment within you. If you write about a joyful moment, let a smile gently tug at your lips. Feel that joy right now deep within. Feel freedom now. Feel peaceful now. Feel abundant now. Vibrate at the frequency of all your dreams and desires. When you do this, you won’t have to chase the life of your dreams, because all of your desires will be attracted to you.
    • Express gratitude. Gratitude and love are the highest vibrations you can emit. When you express gratitude now as if your dreams have already come true, you’re not only vibrating at a higher frequency, but you’re showing the Universe that you have trust and faith that all your beautiful dreams are on their way.
    • Write what feels authentic to you. Do you prefer a small, cozy home over a giant mansion? Would you prefer a life of traveling over staying in one place? Are your dreams filled with quiet moments of peace and tranquility? Whatever you write, make sure it feels authentic and real to you. Just because someone else wants to live in a big mansion overlooking the city doesn’t mean that’s right for you. And if your dreams seem kind of out there and don’t make sense to others, that’s okay! The only thing that matters is that they feel right to you.

    Step 4: Use High-Vibe Affirmations

    Now, if you stopped at Step 3, you’d actually have a super solid foundation for manifesting someone into your life. But if you want to go a step further, you can’t beat incorporating positive affirmations into your daily life.

    Positive affirmations are present-tense statements that are designed to uplift and encourage while boosting self-belief and supporting your overall well-being.

    They’re also a powerful tool in manifestation.

    Why? Because the quickest way to manifest anything into your life is to feel the emotions of your desired manifestation right now.

    Positive affirmations are near-instant vibration raisers. They allow you to feel the positive emotions of your dreams and desires right now in your present-day experience.

    The first step here is to list the primary emotions you associate with manifesting someone in your life. How do you imagine your perfect partner will make you feel? Safe? Loved? Joyful? Create an affirmation that will align you with these feelings in your daily experience.

    And then, use these affirmations and feel all the positive emotions of the words in every cell of your being. The moment you say your affirmation, truly feel safe, loved, and joyful. When you do this, you’re no longer just dreaming of having a partner; you’re directly connecting to the experience of having a wonderful partner right now.

    And this, in essence, is what manifestation is all about.

    Affirmations to Manifest Someone

    Here’s a list of affirmations to get you started. You can find more affirmations to manifest your own love story here.

    • I am loved, loving, and lovable.
    • I am worthy of an epic love story.
    • I deserve to be loved exactly as I am.
    • I attract love by being my authentic self.
    • Love flows to me easily and effortlessly.
    • I am open to attracting even more love in my life.
    • I am able to freely accept love into my heart.
    • I am easy to love.
    • It is safe for me to open my heart to another.
    • My heart is open, loving, and pure.
    • I live in love.
    • Love is always flowing my way.

    Step 5: Connect to Your Heart Chakra

    This step can actually be done at any time in your journey, and for true heart chakra healing, it’s likely not going to be a one-and-done kind of thing. If your heart has been closed for some time now, then in order to receive love into your life, you must do the real healing that could be preventing you from manifesting true love.

    So what exactly is the heart chakra?

    Located in the center of your chest, your heart chakra is your body’s energy center for unconditional love, compassion, peace, kindness, connection, and empathy. When your heart chakra is open and balanced, you feel completely open to giving and receiving love. When your heart chakra is closed, this often manifests into feelings of depression, loneliness, fear of intimacy, and excessive self-isolation. (You can learn more about the heart chakra here.)

    Some factors that may cause a blocked heart chakra include loss of a loved one (grief), rejection, betrayal, and abandonment.

    Heart chakra healing is key to manifesting someone into your life. But it’s not just about manifesting someone. It’s also key to creating a successful and thriving relationship. Because if your heart chakra is blocked, even if someone special does enter your life, you may not be able to fully let them in until you’ve done the deep healing of releasing your blockages and fears.

    So how exactly do you connect to your heart chakra? One of the most powerful ways is through journaling, which allows you to connect to your deepest self and explore your inner world in a way that you may not normally do in your daily life.     You can gently walk forward on this journey by practicing extending love to all that you come across during your day. During your daily interactions, imagine that your heart is open, and silently wish them love. You might even imagine your heart connecting with theirs.

    And don’t forget to extend this same love to yourself. Because you are worthy and deserving of the same love you give to others. Always.

    Step 6: Let Go

    To let go means that once you’ve set your intentions, scripted your dream life, and made it clear to the Universe what exactly you want, you release your worries about when and how it’s going to happen. Simply trust that it will happen, and begin to live as if.

    Live as if your dreams have already come true. Live as if everything you desire is already yours. Live as if you know that everything you want is on its way.

    Don’t worry about the timeline. Don’t try to force something that doesn’t feel right. Know that the Universe is doing the hard stuff, and instead of focusing on your external world, focus on your inner world.

    Create the most beautiful inner world you can imagine yourself, filled with joy, peace, and love.

    Everything is happening exactly as it’s meant to.

    Trust. Believe. Receive.

    Bonus Step: Listen to Your Intuition & Take Inspired Action

    If you know a little about the Law of Attraction, you know that manifestation is more than simply staring at a vision board, hoping your dreams will come true. It often also requires you to listen to your intuition and take inspired action when your inner knowing speaks to you.

    For instance, if your inner knowing tells you to join a dating site, listen to it! I’ve actually seen this one play out in real life. I have a friend who couldn’t get OkCupid out of her head. Even though she was resistant to meeting someone online, her mind kept going back to this specific dating site over and over again. Finally, she released her resistance and signed up.

    And you know what happened?

    She met the person she would eventually spend her life with in one week.

    I also know a guy who saw a girl walking across the street, and instantly, his inner knowing told him that she was the girl he was going to marry one day. He asked his friend if he knew who she was, and coincidentally, he did. So he decided to go talk to her. He asked her out, and they both knew on the first date that they’d met their match. Twenty years later, they’re still happily married.

    So what’s the point of these stories? In both, the person felt a deep inner knowing and acted on it. They took inspired action.

    So if your inner knowing tells you to do something, even if it doesn’t seem to make sense, listen!

    It could just be leading you to your very own beautiful love story.

    What Is The 55×5 Manifestation Method?

    The 55×5 (also written as 5×55 or 555) Manifestation Method is fairly straightforward: it simply requires you to choose an affirmation, then write down that affirmation 55 times in a row for 5 days straight.

    The affirmation you choose isn’t a typical mindset affirmation, such as I am worthy or I am enough. Rather, a 55×5 manifestation affirmation is what I generally call a future pacing affirmation. This is an affirmation in which you express joy and gratitude that your desired manifestation, dream, and/or goal has already come true.

    For instance, if you want to manifest $1,000 this week, your affirmation might be, “I am so grateful I received $1,000 this week!”

    Once you’ve chosen your affirmation, you sit down on Day 1 and write that affirmation 55 times in a row in a notebook or on a piece of paper. So using the example above, you’d write “I am so grateful I received $1,000 this week!” 55 times in a row.

    Then, on Day 2, you’d again write, “I am so grateful I received $1,000 this week!” 55 times in a row.

    Days 3, 4, and 5–same thing.

    So does this really work? Can you just write a sentence 55 times for 5 days in a row and manifest it into your reality? Is it truly that simple?

    Believe it or not, it actually works. I can say this with confidence because it’s worked for me many times throughout my manifestation journey–sometimes before I’ve even finished my five days.

    Below, I’ll explain how to make the most out of the 55×5 Manifestation Method and how to truly get it to work for you so that you can manifest your desires and create the life you’re dreaming of.

    How To Make The 55×5 Manifestation Method Work For You

    While the affirmation you choose here is important, the most important aspects of this manifestation method are the emotions, feelings, and frequencies you choose to vibrate.

    This is, in fact, the very foundation of manifestation: vibrating at the frequencies of your desires, even before your desires have manifested in your reality.

    Want to manifest abundance? Feel abundant now.

    Want to manifest love? Feel loved now.

    Feel all the positive emotions you’ll feel when your dreams and desires come true. Feel them now.

    As you sit to start writing your affirmation 55 times, you want to go into it with a positive, high-vibe mindset. Then, as you begin writing your affirmation, write the words as though they really have come true. Feel the emotions of your affirmation in your bones. Allow yourself to feel true joy, love, gratitude, and positivity.

    It doesn’t end there.

    When you shut your notebook, don’t shut down those emotions with it. Carry them with you throughout your day. Align yourself with these positive feelings, and truly act as if all of your dreams have come true.

    And if you catch yourself falling back into negative habits, that’s okay! Simply choose in that moment to realign with your truth: that you are a powerful manifestor capable of creating anything you want in this life.

    Focus on things to be grateful for in your daily life. Have love and compassion for all stages of your journey.

    Note that this is different than being obsessed and preoccupied with when and how your manifestations will come. In fact, I urge you to release the “when” and “how.” Hand these details over to the Universe. Trust that the Universe is taking care of all your dreams and desires.

    The 55×5 Manifestation Method works because it allows you to set an intention for exactly what you want to manifest and sets the foundation for high vibrations and positive emotions. Your only job is to feel good, cultivate joy, and know that you truly are worthy of having it all.

    How To Create 55×5 Manifestation Affirmations

    In the next section, I’m going to give you some ideas for 55×5 manifestation affirmations you can use in your writing. If you want to create your own affirmations, here are some tips:

    • Keep it short and succinct. You’ll likely be dedicating anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes writing your affirmation down 55 times each day. It’s far easier to keep your vibration high when your affirmation is short and to the point.
    • Be specific. Write down exactly what you want. Rather than write “a large amount of money,” write the specific amount of money you want to manifest. If there’s a certain job that you want, write down exactly what that job is. There are some instances when you may not be able to be too specific. For instance, if you want to manifest a date, you might not know who the person is that you’ll be dating. But you can still be specific by describing characteristics of this person or day of the week of your date. For example, you might say, “I am so grateful I’m going on a date with a sweet and funny guy this Saturday!”
    • Express gratitude. The two highest vibrations are love and gratitude, and there’s nothing more powerful than approaching this practice with an open heart and a feeling of sincere gratitude. I like to express gratitude by starting out my affirmation with the phrase, “I am so happy and grateful that . . .” It’s also important to feel that gratitude and appreciation in your bones as you’re writing down the affirmation. Approach it with the same feelings you would if this dream really has already come true.
    • Pick something you’re truly excited about! You’re about to spend a decent chunk of time for five days straight writing this affirmation. You don’t want to dread this practice; you want to be excited about it. Choose an affirmation and topic that you’ll feel truly excited to sit down and focus your energy on each day.

    Examples Of 55×5 Manifestation Affirmations

    Below are some examples of how you can phrase your 55×5 manifestation affirmation. Definitely feel free to modify the affirmations to fit your desires. For instance, you can change the amount of money you want to manifest or get specific about the exact make and model of car that you want to manifest.

    • I am so happy and grateful for the extra $1,000 I received this week! (Or: “I am so happy and grateful for the extra [insert amount here] I received this week!”)
    • I am so grateful that I’m going on a date with the partner of my dreams this Friday!
    • I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to work in my dream job.
    • Thank you, Universe, for blessing me with inspired ideas to complete my project.
    • I’m so grateful the sellers accepted my offer on my dream house!
    • I can’t believe I’m going on my dream vacation to Hawaii!
    • I am in awe of how this perfect job opportunity fell into my lap this week.
    • I feel joyful and thankful that I’m driving my dream car!
    • My heart is filled with gratitude for the 5 new clients I signed this week.
    • I truly appreciate the extra $5,000 I received this week!

    Okay, I’m going to break my own rules a little bit here. If any part of you is nervous or unsure about your manifesting abilities (this is totally normal if you’re just starting out), it’s okay to start small and get a little more general. This will help you to build confidence so that you feel good about manifesting the bigger, more specific stuff. Here are some examples of 55×5 manifestation affirmations you can use if you’re just starting out and want to build your confidence:

    • I am so grateful for all the inspired ideas that came to me this week.
    • I feel truly thankful for the love that has flowed to and through me all week.
    • I am stunned by how everything keeps working out perfectly for me.
    • Thank you, Universe, for filling my life with so much abundant joy and love.
    • I am awed and thankful for all the incredible opportunities that keep coming my way!

    More Tips & Tricks

    • Don’t get too preoccupied with the timeline. Part of my daily morning routine is to write down what I’m going to manifest each day. This can be anything from an inspired idea to a joyful moment to a great conversation with a friend. I love choosing small, feel-good things I’m going to create in my daily experience! I’ve noticed that sometimes, that thing I’ve chosen to manifest doesn’t happen that same day, but will often come the next morning or soon after. This has taught me to release my preoccupation with when something is going to manifest. If your chosen affirmation has you receiving $1,000 this week, and it doesn’t come right away, it’s okay! The best thing you can do for yourself is to release your worries about when it’s going to come and simply trust that it will come.
    • Make it fun! In the beginning of my manifestation journey, I fell into the trap of taking everything super seriously. I was always worried about doing everything perfectly, and it actually stressed me out to the point where I began to think that maybe manifestation just wasn’t for me. One of the best lessons I’ve learned along the way is to have fun with it! At its heart, manifestation is all about joy, freedom, peace, love, gratitude, and abundance–all the very best things in life.
    • Choose a time that works best for you. While I personally prefer to do this practice in the morning, you might feel too rushed in the morning to do this. And the last thing you want is to feel so rushed and hurried that you aren’t aligned with the positive feelings of your affirmation. If nighttime works best for you, that’s totally fine! Just remember to keep the high-vibe emotions throughout your day, and try to be consistent in doing this practice around the same time each day.
    • Trust the Universe. The Universe will always give you exactly what you need at exactly the right time. What’s meant for you will never pass you by. And also know that the Universe is your biggest supporter and cheerleader. It wants to see you succeed and is always working behind the scenes to support you in ways you can’t yet see.
    • Believe. In order for this practice to work, you have to trust believe it will work. Believe in yourself. Believe in the Universe. Believe that you have so much more power than you know.

    How To Manifest Something

    Before you learn how to manifest something using the ten unique manifestation methods in this guide, let’s define what manifestation is and how it works.

    Manifestation is, in its purest form, creation. You’re always manifesting things and experiences into your life because you’re always creating. In fact, being a creator is part of the very foundation of who you are.

    And most of the time, when you step back and look at your life, you’ll find that your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.

    Once we understand this, we can begin to cultivate an inner world that matches what we want to see in our outer world. This is when we turn unconscious manifestation into intentional manifestation.

    To intentionally manifest something means to visualize your dreams and desires and to vibrate at the frequency of your desires as if they’ve already come true. Like attracts like, so when you choose to feel the positive emotions related to your desires throughout your day, you’ll attract more of this good-feeling thing to you.

    So how does this work?

    Let’s say you dream of finding your soulmate.

    Step back and consider why it’s so important for you to find this person. How do you imagine this person will make you feel? Maybe you imagine that they’ll make you feel loved, cherished, treasured, and adored. Okay. So now you decide you want to manifest this person.

    In order to manifest your soulmate, you want to begin imagining what it would look and feel like to have this person in your life.

    Visualize how a day in your life will look like with them in it. And those incredible feelings of being loved, cherished, treasured, and adored?

    You don’t have to wait until you meet your soulmate to begin experiencing those feelings.

    You can allow yourself to feel loved, cherished, treasured, and adored today.

    Imagine that you’re a magnet. Everything you put out into the universe is exactly what you attract to you (remember, like attracts like). So if you put out the vibration of being loved, cherished, treasured, and adored right now (and allow yourself to truly feel all the positive emotions related to these feelings), you’ll attract more experiences that will make you feel loved, cherished, treasured, and adored in your outer world. 

    Truly, this starts with loving yourself. Cherishing yourself. Treasuring yourself. Adoring yourself. And likely, you’ll be so busy cultivating unconditional self-love, you won’t even worry about when your soulmate will finally show up.

    And that’s exactly when your manifestation will come true.

    When you stop looking for it and simply allow yourself to live fully, feeling all the positive emotions you want to feel today.

    This is, in essence, the basis of manifestation:

    “What you think, you create. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you become.”

    So at its very core, if you want to manifest something, become the energy of what you want to manifest.

    But that’s just the beginning. Below, I’m going to take you through ten tested and proven manifestation methods. (Be sure to pay special attention to the first one, as this is your manifestation blueprint.)

    Each method will serve and support you in your manifestation journey as you begin creating the life of your deepest, most heartfelt dreams.

    1. The Manifestation Blueprint

    The reason why so many people struggle with manifestation is that they don’t understand how it truly works. They treat manifestation like a game, but manifestation is actually an art. And there’s a very specific blueprint you can follow to manifest what you really want in your life:

    • You set an intention based on the authentic, deeply felt dreams that have been placed in your heart.
    • You communicate this intention to the Universe. Your positive vibrations are one way of communicating this intention, as by vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you express that you’re ready to receive more of this good-feeling thing.
    • The Universe works behind the scenes to set everything in motion. It communicates back to you in the form of signs, synchronicities, and most importantly, your own intuition. Being in the vibration of what you desire allows you to receive these signs and inner nudges with clarity. (In contrast, being in a state of stress, worry, and anger will cause you to miss these signs and feelings.)
    • Then, you take inspired action based on the communication the Universe has given you. 
    • This communication between you and the Universe continues. The Universe sends you signs (usually through your intuition), and you follow your intuition by taking aligned action. Essentially, once the Universe communicates what to do, you do that thing.
    • And as you follow this path, you’ll begin to see your dream manifest into your reality. Keep following the nudges. Keep taking inspired action. And stay in the vibration of your dreams and desires so you can receive divine guidance when it comes.

    This is why manifestation is an art, not a game. It isn’t about “beating” the Universe. It’s about co-creating with the Universe. And if you can master this, you can master manifestation – for life.

    2. Visualization

    Visualization is key in transforming your dreams from abstract ideas in your head to tangible things you get to have and experience in your reality. In manifestation, visualization allows you to simulate the experience of already having your desires in the present moment. This is a profound practice to help you get clear about what you want and begin vibrating at the frequency of your desires today.

    What makes visualization truly powerful is that it helps you to get in alignment with universal energy. This makes you more receptive to connecting with your intuition and taking inspired action.

    Meditation, vision boards, and scripting are a few practices that can help you visualize your dreams and desires. In this article, you can learn more about the profound benefits of visualization (there’s more than you think!) and the various visualization practices you can use in your daily life in order to manifest your deepest dreams and desires.

    3. The 55×5 Manifestation Method

    The 55×5 (also sometimes written as 5×55 or 555) Manifestation Method is one of my favorite journaling methods for manifesting. The guidelines are fairly straightforward: it simply requires you to choose an affirmation, then write down that affirmation 55 times in a row for 5 days straight.

    The affirmation you choose will directly relate to the desire you want to manifest.

    For example, let’s say you want to manifest money. Your affirmation might be, “I am so grateful I received $10,000 this week!”

    So on Day 1, you’ll write “I am so grateful I received $10,000 this week!” 55 times in a row.

    Then, on Day 2, you’d again write, “I am so grateful I received $10,000 this week!” 55 times in a row.

    Days 3, 4, and 5, same thing.

    As you write your affirmations, you want to truly feel like you have this thing now. If you did manifest $10,000, how would you feel? Would you feel grateful? Joyful? Radiant?

    Allow yourself to feel those emotions now. Then, carry them with you throughout your day. This is a great practice for truly uncovering your manifesting power. It helps you to articulate exactly what you want and sets a solid foundation for your day so you can stay in the vibration of your desires.

    4. The 369 Method

    The 369 Method has a similar setup to the 55×5 Manifestation Method with a few differences in how it’s carried out. In the 369 Method, you choose an affirmation and write it down 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the afternoon, and 9 times in the evening. Do this for 21 days in a row. As you write your affirmation, maintain high vibrations and make sure to be consistent. I also find it helpful to say my affirmation aloud throughout the day.

    5. Scripting

    Scripting is the practice of writing about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest. It’s kind of like writing a journal entry, except instead of writing about your current life, you write about the life you want to live as if you’re already living it.

    So if you want to manifest love, you might write about how you’re living with the love of your life in your dream home. When you do this, you’ll only write in past or present tense.

    If you’re writing in past tense, you might recount the day you met your partner. You could also write as though it’s the end of the day, and you’ve just had your first date with the perfect person.

    If you write in the present tense, you could write about what a typical day looks like with the love of your life as you’re living it.

    Truly, the possibilities are endless.

    The key to making scripting work is to feel all the positive emotions of having your desires right now in this present moment.

    So if you’re writing about how happy you are to spend your life with this perfect person, allow yourself to feel truly joyful and grateful for all that you have. And even more, give yourself permission to feel loved, cherished, and adored by this perfect person.

    Insert gratitude throughout your script, and end it by thanking the Universe for delivering to you all your deepest dreams and desires.

    6. The Pillow Method For Manifestation

    The Pillow Method For Manifestation is one of my personal favorites, as it feels as though you’re truly doing something magical when you complete this practice.

    First, you want to take either a script you’ve written about your dream life (see #5 above) or a powerful manifestation affirmation that affirms you already have what you desire.

    For instance, you might write “I am in my dream job, making a positive difference in people’s lives and doing what I love every single day.”

    Once you have your script or affirmation written down, place it under your pillow. Before you go to bed, visualize your desired manifestation in your mind’s eye. Imagine having this desire right now, feeling all the positive emotions of your dreams coming true.

    Let this be the last thing you think about before falling asleep, allowing it to sink into your subconscious brain. Continue this practice for about 7 to 10 days, or until it feels right to remove it.

    7. Essential Oils For Manifesting

    Manifesting oil is a blend of essential oils, herbs, and other natural sources that are specifically created to help you manifest your desires. Using these essential oils is a great way to enhance and amplify your manifestation practice.

    I like to use manifesting oils on my scripts, journal entries, and manifestation affirmations. Manifesting oil can also be used on a specific object, such as cash, a love note, a candle, or even yourself.

    One of my personal favorite ways to use it is by rubbing a little bit on my script or affirmation before I put it under my pillow if I’m doing the pillow method.

    8. Gratitude

    Gratitude ties in with abundance, as when you choose to view your life from a perspective of gratitude, you’re able to see all that you have rather that focusing on what you don’t have.

    When you express gratitude, you’re essentially telling the Universe, more of this please.

    More joy. More love. More peace, freedom, and abundance.

    Connect yourself to the life of your dreams by expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation for the abundance that already exists within.

    How do you do this? Here are a few ideas:

    • When you wake up, think of three things you’re grateful for. You might also choose to write these things down in a gratitude journal.
    • Anytime you feel out of sorts, take a step back. Look around your immediate environment. Focus on one thing in your surroundings to be grateful for. If you can’t find something outside of you, focus on something within.
    • Stuck at a red light? Instead of expressing frustration, think of one to three things you’re thankful for in your life.
    • Before you go to bed at night, think of three things that happened during the day that you truly appreciate.

    9. Give To Receive

    The more good you put out in the world, the more good you receive in return.

    Do you want to manifest love? Give love to others. (And yourself.)

    Do you want financial prosperity? Donate and give money when you feel called to.

    Do you want unconditional happiness? Give your smile freely to others. Make someone’s day. Be a light in someone else’s world.

    One way to intentionally practice this is to write a Giving List. Every morning, write down something you want to give that day. Remember, it doesn’t have to be a really big thing. Here are a few examples of something you might give:

    • A compliment to a friend
    • A smile to a stranger
    • An extra $1 on your food delivery tip
    • A kind gesture, like letting another car in or opening the door for someone.

    Time is also a gift, so you might give the gift of your time to someone who’s feeling lonely.

    I always like to note that you should only give when it feels good to you. Don’t force or pressure yourself to give because you think you have to, especially if deep down, you feel any resentment towards giving. When you do this, you may emit negative vibrations, so you’re not actually helping yourself to manifest what you want.

    Release the pressure on yourself, let go, and allow the perfect moment to unfold instead of forcing yourself into it.

    10. Surrender & Allow

    There are several ways I could phrase this:

    Surrender.

    Trust.

    Let go.

    Allow.

    There are two equal parts of manifestation: doing and being. This is actually directly tied to the Law of Gender, one of the 12 spiritual laws of the Universe. The Law of Gender states there are two types of energy: masculine and feminine. In order to live a fulfilling, joyful, purpose-driven life, we must achieve a balance between these two energies.

    Masculine energy is tied to hustling, achieving, and doing. Feminine energy is tied to surrendering, allowing, and just being.

    While many of the practices on this list are tied to your masculine energy, your feminine energy is just as important when it comes to manifesting.

    What we often forget when it comes to manifestation is that you’re actually co-creating with the Universe. This means trusting that the Universe has your back. It also that means sometimes, you’re in the driver’s seat, and other times, you’re letting the Universe take the wheel.

    So how exactly do you practice surrender and trust? Here are a few tips:

    • Release the “how.” This is 100% the Universe’s job. You might think you know the best path to your dreams. You might also think there’s just no possible way your dream can come true. But I promise, the Universe will figure out the how, and it’s often in unexpected and surprising ways. Your job is to simply allow the Universe to work its magic. When it’s time for you to act, it’ll deliver a sign or a gentle nudge in the right direction to let you know.
    • Listen to your own inner rhythm. Do you feel like you’re forcing something to happen? How does it feel? At its foundation, manifestation should feel really good. If you feel like you’re trying to force your dreams to come true, it may be time to take a step back. Let go and allow the Universe to take the wheel for a while.

    As you move forward, keep this in mind:

    Don’t worry about the timeline. Don’t try to force something that doesn’t feel right. Know that the Universe is doing the hard stuff, and instead of focusing on your external world, focus on your inner world.

    Create an inner world so peaceful, patient, and calm, it spills into your outer world and creates something beautiful outside of yourself.

    Before you begin the exercises, you set a goal for the amount of money you want to manifest. (The book recommends $1,000.) By the end of the 21 days, you’ll have completely restructured your money mindset for the better, and you’ll have manifested some serious cash.

    The 55×5 manifestation method is a practice in which you write your chosen affirmation 55 times in a row (in one sitting) for five days straight. The affirmation you choose should correspond with your intended manifestation. For example, you might write the affirmation, “I am so happy and grateful that I received an extra $1,000 this week!

    Now, if you’re side-eyeing me right now, I totally get it. It sounds almost too simple. But it’s one of those things that’s so simple, it actually works. The key here is to be in a high-vibrational state when you sit down to write your affirmations. It’s also important to hold onto those good feelings even after you complete the practice.

    You definitely don’t need a special manifestation journal to complete this practice. But what I like about the 555 Manifestation Method Journal is that it cleanly divides the 55 lines so you don’t have to count them.     Best For Lifting Vibrations: Daily Rituals

    I’ll admit, this one surprised me. At first glance, I thought it was just a book on affirmations, which is great – just not what I wanted when looking for manifestation journals.

    But I was wrong.

    The Daily Rituals workbook is all about lifting your vibrations so you can attract similiar high-vibrational objects, people, and experiences into your life. Each chapter has a powerful affirmation with an explanation/definition of that affirmation. After the affirmation, there’s a powerful exercise to complete and a profound journal prompt that will help you to cultivate joy, gratitude, and unconditional self-love.

    To increase the high vibes, I like to pair this workbook with this beautifully crafted The Universe Journal.

    Best Goal-Oriented Journal: This Year I Will

    Do not sleep on this book. It is an absolute powerhouse.

    The prompts in the This Year I Will Guided Journal read as a step-by-step guide to manifestation. You start by identifying your goals and your why. Then there are visualizations for how you’ll feel when you achieve these goals and what a day in your life will look like once you have what you desire. And this is just the beginning. Once you get to the weekly reflections, you truly dive deep into a treasure chest of uplifting thoughts and good vibrations. There is so much goodness in this book, I can’t rave about it enough.

    The one key difference between this journal and the others on this list is that it’s more of a weekly journal than a daily journal. Depending on your preferences, this might be a positive or a negative. Even if you’re looking for more of a daily journal, I’d definitely recommend using this journal in addition to one of the daily journals on this list. I promise – it’s worth it.

    Best For Advanced Manifestors: 100-Day Guided Manifestation Journal

    If you’re looking for a pure manifestation journal, it’d be hard to beat this one. The Law of Attraction 100-Day Guided Journal has everything you need in a manifestation journal. It’s a guided journal filled with powerful prompts and daily affirmations, plus directions and words of wisdom. Even on your toughest days, this journal will guide you to living as your highest and most authentic self.

    The reason I recommend this one for more advanced manifestors is because some of the prompts can be a bit more complex. If you’re a beginner, I’d recommend starting with one of the others on this list and working your way up to this one.

    What Is A Vision Board?

    A vision board is a collection of images and/or words that represent your goals and dreams. In essence, it’s a visual representation of all your goals located in one spot where you can easily see and access it each day.

    When you include images on your vision board, you can choose to include images that represent exactly what you want, or you can choose pictures that present an overall feeling of what it is you desire. (You can also include a mixture of both.)

    For instance, if you want to own a Tesla one day, you might include an image of your Tesla on your vision board. But if one of your biggest goals in life is to feel a deep sense of freedom, then you might choose to include an image that represents the feeling of freedom to you – like an open road, a field of wildflowers, or a person standing on top of a mountain with their arms stretched out wide.

    While images are typically the focal point of a vision board, you can also include words on your board that resonate with you. For instance, you might use words to caption your images, or you can include empowering quotes and affirmations that both motivate you and capture the feeling of your ideal life. You can also include written bucket lists on your vision board as extra motivation. (You’ll find examples of all of these below.)

    Finally, while it’s not common, you can choose to include just word descriptions on your vision board instead of images. One way to do this is to draw boxes on a piece of paper. Label each box with a category, like Career, Family, and Health/Fitness. For each category, write a few sentences describing your goals.

    For example, in the Career box, you might write, “I am a successful health coach who makes a positive difference in the lives of all my clients. I coach people on how to create a healthy and sustainable lifestyle that goes beyond just fad diets; the positive changes they make last for their entire lives. I love what I do and am grateful every single day that I get to work in a job that feels fun and fulfilling.”

    In the end, there’s no wrong way to create a vision board as long as it feels right to you. The best vision boards will spark your inspiration and make you feel truly excited about the limitless possibilities for the life you’re creating for yourself.

    What Is The Purpose Of A Vision Board?

    A vision board is used as a goal-setting tool to help you set and visualize your goals. It can also be used a means of self-reflection. During your daily life, it can be easy to become immersed in deadlines, schedules, errands, and to-do lists. A vision board allows you a chance to step back and get a bigger perspective. It’s an opportunity to ask yourself what really matters to you and how you want your future to look.

    A vision board is also a commonly used tool in manifestation, which is the practice of consciously creating your future through the power of your own vibration. You can use your vision board as a tool to align your vibration with your desired outcome.

    For instance, let’s say that financial freedom is one of your life goals. On your vision board, you can include images that represent what it means to you to be financially free. Then, each day, you can take time to look at your vision board and immerse yourself in those images of financial freedom. When you do this, allow yourself to feel the positive emotions of having this financial freedom in your current reality. Feel this positive vibration in every cell of your body.

    So essentially, instead of waiting for the future to start feeling financially free, you’re letting yourself feel financially free today. By vibrating at the frequency of freedom and abundance today, you attract to you more of these experiences in your outer world.

    The same scenario would apply if you want to manifest a loving and committed partner. Instead of waiting for that person to appear in your life before you start feeling truly loved, start showing yourself the love you’re seeking. When you look at your vision board and see a picture of a couple holding hands, imagine what it will feel like to hold your future partner’s hand. Immerse yourself in this positive vibration.

    The more you practice feeling the positive emotions associated with the images on your vision board, the deeper this vibration becomes ingrained within you. You’ll begin carrying these positive emotions with you as you walk through your day and interact with the world around you.

    And this, in essence, is how you manifest: by becoming the thing that you desire today.

    This is one of my favorite ways to describe how manifestation works in just a few words:

    “What you think, you create. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you become.”

    When you create your vision board, there are likely some obvious categories you’ll want to include, such as your ideal home or your dream job. But you’re not limited to solely these categories – and in fact, there are lots of other categories that might hold even more meaning to you.

    For instance, you might include an image that represents your spirituality and any practices that contribute to your spiritual self, such as meditation or religious services. You can also include images that represent your ideal self-care routine or how you’d like to approach your own personal growth and self-development.

    Vision Board Mediums

    So how do you begin creating a vision board? Here are some ways you can get started:

    • You can go with the classic: a poster board, magazine cutouts, and some tape or glue. If you can’t find all your preferred images in magazines, you can also print images you find online.
    • You can also do the same as above but instead glue or tape your images to notebook or bullet journal pages.
    • And if you’re artistic, you might instead decide to draw your images instead.
    • For a portable vision board, you can create an album on your phone titled Vision Board or My Future. Save images to your album that represent your ideal life, and make it a point to regularly scroll through your album. You can also continue to add images whenever you find a photo that resonates with you.
    • There are also apps such as VisuApp that allow you to create your own personal digital vision board.

    One of the simplest yet most effective ways to create your vision board is to fill it with photos that represent your ideal life. In the vision board above, you quickly get a sense of the vibe the creator of this board wants to represent: vanlife, travel, health and fitness, meditation, reading, creating, and an overall sense of joy and freedom. Fill your board with photos that speak to you and resonate with your whole self: mind, body, and soul.

    The vision board above includes not only pictures but also captions for each photo that sum up the essence of each image and what the owner of the board hopes to create in the year ahead. The addition of captions can add a little something special to a vision board, turning an abstract image into something a little more concrete.

    Another fun and empowering way to make your vision board is to pair photos that speak to your soul with high-vibe affirmations that leave you feeling confident, empowered, and inspired. Every time you look at your vision board, repeat your affirmations and truly feel into the positive vibrations connected to the words. This is the path to manifesting your dreams: knowing that everything you desire is already yours.

    Another unique approach you can take with your vision board is to include a list of goals on your board. In the image above, the owner of the board has included a list of goals for the year ahead. You might also choose to include a list of overall life goals or bucket list items.

    Digital Vision Board

    One of the easiest ways to make a vision board is to create a Vision Board album on your phone. Save images to this album that align with the vision you have of your ideal future, and continue to add photos whenever you see something that resonates with you. You can also include uplifting quotes and affirmations here, too.

    Uncovering Your “Why”

    Behind every goal and intention is a greater purpose for why you want this specific thing.

    And often, this purpose is much deeper than most of us even realize on the surface.

    To illustrate this, let’s start with an example. Let’s say you’re a ten-year-old kid playing on your little league baseball or softball team. You’re up to bat, and your team is down by one run. There’s one runner on base. That means if you hit a home run, your team will go ahead. 

    So your goal at this moment is to hit a home run.

    But what’s the purpose behind wanting to hit a home run?

    Consider this:

    • You want to hit a home run so you can help your team win the game.
    • Okay. So why do you want to help your team win the game?
    • You want to help your team win the game because you want to feel like a winner.
    • And why do you want to feel like a winner?
    • You want to feel like a winner because you believe it will make your parents proud.
    • And why do you want to make your parents proud? 
    • You want to make your parents proud because you believe it shows you’re worthy of their love.
    • And why do you want to feel worthy of their love?
    • You want to feel worthy of their love because you deeply desire love and validation from others.
    • And why do you desire love and validation from others?
    • You want love and validation from others because receiving love from others will show you that you’re worthy of loving yourself.

    Wanting to hit a home run to help your team win the game has a purpose so much deeper than simply winning.

    For a child, it might validate that they’re worthy of love and acceptance. It might also act as proof that their contributions matter. Kids (and adults) often want to be the hero because they crave the love, validation, and praise that comes with being a hero.

    (To be very clear, you are always worthy of love, acceptance, and praise, no matter what you do or don’t do.)

    And this is true for all of our deepest dreams and most heartfelt desires. It’s never simply about just obtaining a single thing. It’s about so much more. And when we can learn to recognize what this more is, we gain a greater understanding of our deepest motivations and what drives us to keep going.

    By connecting to your why every day, you’re less likely to quit when challenges and obstacles appear on your path, thus fostering deeper resilience. It also helps you to connect with the fundamental feeling of your desired manifestation. We’ll discuss this in more depth below, plus I’ll give you practices to uncover your why and tips for aligning with your why each day.

    The Story Of My Why

    Before I became a full-time website owner and writer, I job-hopped a lot.

    I existed in an endless cycle in which I’d set out to find some kind of administrative office position in the hope that it would bring me happiness and fulfillment. I’d stay in this job for about a year before inevitably deciding to seek out a new job that would (again) hopefully bring me the happiness and fulfillment I was seeking.

    The last position I took was actually pretty perfect on paper. I was able to do meaningful work with people I truly liked. But after several months, I once again started feeling empty. No matter how much I tried to force myself to fit into these office positions, nothing ever felt right.

    I was a square peg trying to fit myself into a round hole.

    One day, I went on an afternoon walk to clear my head. I was listening to a guided walking meditation, and the meditation teacher instructed her listeners to visualize an image that represented how we were feeling in that moment. I can still remember that moment so clearly. One second, I was walking through the neighborhood surrounded by houses and trees. And the next, all I could see in my mind’s eye was a pair of cold, metal handcuffs encircling my wrists.

    And I realized in that moment just how trapped and imprisoned I felt in my current life situation.

    That was when I realized my soul craved freedom and independence more than just about anything else. Everything inside me knew I’d be trapped in this endless cycle of job-hopping and working for other people unless I consciously decided to break it.

    And I knew what that meant. I’d known since I was seven year old, when the dream of being a writer was first put into my heart.

    Breaking out of my cycle meant doing the thing I feared the most: stepping out from the shadows, putting my words out there for the world to read, and taking charge of my life.

    So I did something that was kind of crazy: I took a leap and followed my heart. I quit my job. I started this website. I began sharing my words for the first time on Instagram. I started to show up for myself in a way I never had the courage to do before.

    And for the first several months of blogging, I earned no money at all. Zero. Nothing. I made a lot of mistakes, and I spent eighty to ninety hours a week working on my blog and social media accounts, often seeing no immediate positive results. I almost quit about a thousand times.

    But I didn’t. I couldn’t.

    And the thing that kept me going during my heaviest, most difficult moments was knowing my why.

    • I craved the freedom and independence to have my own schedule and build a life that felt truly meaningful for both myself and others.
    • I wanted to make my family proud. (Probably for the same reason the kid in the example above wanted to hit the home run.)
    • And finally, my deepest purpose of all was to lift up, help, and inspire others to live a life aligned with their own purpose and passions – to be a beacon of love, hope, and a belief in something more. The thing that kept me going through it all was believing that if I could help just one person, that would be enough. I can’t emphasize enough how powerful it is to uncover a deeper purpose within that isn’t about you at all – to be inspired by something greater than yourself. When life is no longer happening to you or even for you, but rather, when life is happening through you to help other people – that’s when you will begin manifesting things beyond your wildest dreams. Why? Writer Vex King has a quote that sums it up better than I ever could: “You can do anything that comes from a place of love.”

    How To Uncover Your Why

    When you can uncover your why and understand your deepest purpose for why you want to manifest your specific desires, your manifestations will open up for you in ways they never have before. Instead of focusing on short-term results, you’ll be able to keep your vision on the big picture. Your why will keep you centered, grounded, and stable through all of life’s ups and downs.

    This is your root. Your foundation. Your deepest, most authentic motivation for all that you do.

    Here are a few ways you can begin uncovering your why today:

    • Go Beyond The Surface: Once you identify your goal, ask why you desire this thing. But don’t stop there. Like in the baseball example in the introduction, keep asking yourself why. Continue to probe until you get to the very foundation of what you want most. (Usually, you’ll have to ask yourself “Why?” at least seven to eight times before you reach your deepest reason.)
    • Identify The Primary Feelings You’re Looking For: Most of the time, when you want to manifest something, you don’t simply want this thing just because. It’s often a feeling that you’re after. For instance, if you want to manifest financial wealth, maybe what you’re truly seeking is freedom. If you want to manifest a romantic partner, you may be seeking the feeling of being truly and deeply loved. Once you identify these feelings, the power is entirely in your hands. You don’t have to wait for these things to come into your life before you start feeling these positive emotions. Feel free now. Feel loved now. Feel everything you desire right now. It never starts outside of yourself; it begins within. You have the power to create the life of your dreams by creating it inside of you first.
    • Speak To Your Higher Self: When it comes to your why, your higher self knows your deepest purpose. Meet this part of you in meditation. Connect to your inner wisdom through journaling. When you go within, the answers you discover may surprise you – but they’ll also feel good and right.     Here are some questions that can help you uncover your why. You might find it helpful to write down your thoughts in a notebook or journal:

    • What’s your greatest passion?
    • What makes you feel most alive?
    • What are your greatest strengths?
    • How can your unique talents, skills, knowledge, and abilities serve the world?
    • What primary feelings do you crave most in your life? (i.e. peace, freedom, love, abundance)
    • When you look back on your life, how will you evaluate it as a whole? Will you evaluate it by the lives you touched? By your achievements? By the love of your family and community? By what you’ve left behind to serve future generations? Note that there’s no right or wrong answer here. It’s solely a matter of what feels good and true to you.

    How To Align With Your Why

    When you know your why, your goal has more impact. You’re no longer manifesting aimlessly; you’re manifesting with purpose, on purpose. 

    But it can be easy to lose sight of your why, especially in the beginning. We can lose ourselves in the presence of outer noise. Doubts and insecurities can stop us from moving forward. It’s all too easy to forget why we started in the first place.

    So it’s important to find ways to consciously remind yourself of your why each and every day.

    Here are some practices you can try:

    • Write down your “why” statement on a piece of paper or a note on your phone. Read it to yourself multiple times a day. Read it even more when you experience challenges and obstacles that make you question whether this is the right path for you.
    • Turn your why statement into an affirmation. For instance, if your deepest purpose is to lift the vibration of the planet, you might say, “I am lifting the vibration of the planet with my thoughts, words, and actions.” If you’re seeking a life of freedom, you might affirm that you are free. You might also affirm that freedom is your fundamental, true state, and that it’s also your birthright. Repeat affirmations that align with your why and allow yourself to feel the positive emotions associated with these empowering words.
    • Connect to the primary feeling of your “why” statement. Whether it’s freedom, peace, love, abundance, or happiness, focus on cultivating this feeling within you. Don’t look for what you desire out there. Find it within, align with it every day, and let it come to you.

    Remember this: every goal you possess has a deeper meaning and purpose behind it. And there’s a reason this dream exists within you. It was entrusted to you for a reason. It’s your specific vision for a reason. Nothing is by accident. Nothing is a mistake. 

    During your journey, you will face difficult choices. Some of these choices will require you to either choose fear or courage – to shrink back or expand. Choose the path most aligned with your why. Make your choices as your highest, most authentic self. Follow the pull of your deep inner wisdom. Let your heart lead.


    Don’t Forget Why You Started

    In manifestation, there will always be obstacles and challenges on your path forward. There may be moments when you think, “I can’t do this anymore. It’s not working. I keep failing. Maybe I should just quit.” During these moments, you may have a difficult time remembering your why. Even if you do remember your deepest purpose, you might start to believe that maybe this isn’t truly possible for you. You’ll tell yourself that you’re delusional for actually believing you could manifest the life of your dreams.

    If this happens, take a deep breath and step back. Think about the moment this dream was first put into your heart. When did you know that this dream was meant for you? How did you feel at that moment? What did your inner knowing tell you? 

    Remember this: your intuition knows so much more than you realize.

    I’ve had many, many difficult moments in my journey. And do you want to know what keeps me going when nothing else can?

    Returning to that moment when I knew this dream was meant for me and going back to that original feeling. I was seven years old, staring inside a Waldenbooks. And I knew in that moment, I was going to be a writer one day.

    I’ve gone back to that moment hundreds of times when I started to believe that I wasn’t good enough to be a writer. That I’d never make it. That I should just give up.

    That moment is what keeps me grounded, centered, and continually moving forward. I knew that this dream meant something deeper. That it was more.

    That original feeling you had in the moment you first knew is the truest, most real thing in this universe. It doesn’t come from the ego but from something inside of you that is eternal, measureless, and infinite. And it will never steer you wrong. Never.

    So truly take the time to cultivate what that original feeling looked and felt like for you. Come back to it, as many times as you need. Remember that you are not here simply just to exist. You are here for more. You are more. Your entire essence and being are more.

    We often focus on the really big actions we take to achieve our dreams, but the path to manifesting your dreams and desires is most often paved in the small steps you take each day. Below, learn the importance of small steps, and discover how you can start taking daily steps rooted in aligned action to help you manifest your deepest, most heartfelt dreams.

    Small Steps

    Have you ever known someone who decided they wanted to lose weight and went all in right away?

    From day one, they’re working out one to two hours every day and cutting their daily calorie intake in half. For the first couple weeks, they might see big results. They lose several pounds the first week, and then a few more the second.

    But then, the drastic leap they’ve made starts to take its toll.

    They begin to backslide, skipping workouts and eating even more than when they began their weight loss journey. Trying to make a big lifestyle change in one massive leap often leaves a person feeling tired, overwhelmed, and anxious.

    And because of this, they often give up, believing that they’re just not cut out for this type of lifestyle change.

    The exact same pattern often happens in manifestation.

    When you learn about manifesting, it feels really exciting at first. You’re excited to create your reality through utilizing the power of your own positive vibration. You dedicate yourself to having positive thoughts all the time, trying to suppress any worry, stress, fear, or anxiety that you feel within. You want things to happen quickly, so you try to take massive leaps and bold jumps forward.

    But after a couple weeks, this starts to take its toll.

    It can be tiring to try to be positive all the time. And it can also be stressful and scary to feel like you always have to make these massive leaps forward – especially when you’re not seeing immediate results.

    Like crash diets, crash manifesting often leaves you feeling worse than you did before you started. And it’s also not healthy for your total well-being: mind, body, and soul.

    Here’s the truth about manifesting: there will be times when you’re required to take big leaps forward. To do the thing you’re afraid to do. To trust your inner knowing, even though it feels kind of scary. You’ll know these moments when they come; you’ll feel it deep within when the time is right to do something that feels really big and life-changing.

    But most of your journey won’t be defined by those really big leaps.

    It’s the small steps you take each day that will make all the difference.

    Why Small Steps Are The Way Forward

    Consider the crash dieter, who tries to do it all at once: work out daily, cut their calories, walk over 10,000 steps a day, embody perfection in an attempt to lose twenty pounds in a month, only to gain it all back the next.

    What if they had taken their journey more slowly? 

    Consider this alternative: they start just by replacing their lunch with something a little healthier and adding in three, thirty-minute workouts a week. Maybe they’ll gradually start to increase their step count. Then, they start swapping out some of their high-calorie foods for lower calorie ones, but they still allow some wiggle room for foods they love. They explore different types of exercises to find the ones they enjoy most. They allow themselves to take their time with this new lifestyle change, and because of this, they actually have fun with it.

    They want to do these things because these new habits feel really good.

    Ironically, by releasing the pressure to be perfect, they actually see more long-term success than the person who goes all in right away in an attempt to be perfect.

    I also like to use marathon training as another helpful comparison. When I trained for my first marathon, I knew I wasn’t just going to wake up on Day 1 and run 26.2 miles. I had to create a training plan. In my training plan, I scheduled short runs throughout the week to keep my endurance up and one weekly long run that would gradually increase in distance. My first long run was 8 miles. The next week, it was 9 miles. Then, 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. And so on. 

    Each day, I followed my training plan and made one small step forward at a time to help me prepare for that big 26.2 mile run. When the marathon came, I was able to run the entire length of the race because of the small steps I’d been taking for months before the actual event.

    So what does this have to do with manifestation?

    Let’s take a look at what the path of manifesting your dreams looks like:

    • First, you set an intention based on the authentic, deeply felt dreams that have been placed in your heart.
    • You communicate this intention to the Universe. Your positive vibrations are one way of communicating this intention, as by vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you express that you’re ready to receive more of this good-feeling thing.
    • The Universe works behind the scenes to set everything in motion. It communicates back to you in the form of signs, messages, and most importantly, your own intuition. Being in the vibration of what you desire allows you to receive these signs and inner nudges with clarity. (In contrast, being in a state of stress, worry, and anger will cause you to miss these signs and feelings.)
    • Then, you take inspired action based on the communication the Universe has given you. This leads you on the path straight to your dreams and desires.

    That is the process of manifestation explained in its most basic form.

    Most of the signs and inner nudges you receive on your path won’t be to do anything really, really big. They’re going to be gentle nudges leading you to take small steps forward. 

    This can be a little frustrating, I know. It’s not glamorous or exciting. Usually, when we want something, we want it now.

    The irony here is that the more we try to force something to happen right now, the more we push it away.

    But when you get into alignment and lean into the natural flow of the universe, releasing your hold on the timeline, things will start moving quicker. The small steps you take may seem inconsequential right now, but they’re going to move you forward so much quicker in the long run than trying to control and force everything to happen at once.

    Small Steps & Aligned Action (My Personal Story)

    To help you visualize what the path of manifestation looks like when you’re taking small steps, I want to tell you a bit more about my personal story. Specifically, I want to focus on what it took to build a successful website.

    I didn’t always know that I wanted to be a blogger. This path was revealed to me only after I started practicing quieting my mind through meditation and mindfulness practices. Like a lot of people, I’d been knee-deep in daily stress and anxiety as I worked in the corporate world. I’d been meditating on and off for years, but once I started consistently meditating day after day, subtle shifts began to happen within and all around me. Creative paths and opportunities opened up for me. I started to see possibilities I didn’t see before.

    As a result, my website was born.

    But the path that led me to having a successful website didn’t happen overnight. In fact, it often felt painfully slow.

    My first month, I had about fifty visitors in total. Most of them were my family. The second month, I had maybe fifty-five. Then, sixty. I was releasing blog posts with no set schedule. I didn’t know what SEO was. (SEO = Search Engine Optimization aka the practices you use to get your website to rank on search engines like Google.)

    I didn’t know who my audience was. I knew absolutely nothing except that I was following the path that felt right to me. 

    So each day, I practiced vibrating at the frequency of success. I’d check my website statistics and pretend there were extra zeroes at the end of the audience metrics. I surrounded my computer monitor with post-its that had affirmations on them, such as “I am a successful writer.” I read them every single day, until finally, I no longer needed them because the affirmation became part of my subconscious mind.

    I didn’t wait for success to come to begin feeling successful. I knew that because this dream was within me, it was already mine. I was success. I was abundance. I was everything I could possibly dream of and more.

    Because I was consistently practicing this high vibration, I was an energetic match for my desires. That meant I was in the vibration to receive.

    And I did.

    Every day, I received gentle nudges guiding me to the next step. These were never things I went looking for; they came to me, one at a time. 

    First, another new blogger I’d met through Instagram sent me an email with tips on how to become successful on Pinterest. And I hadn’t even asked! She’d just thought of me and thought it might be useful. And it was; my Pinterest views and clicks began to skyrocket once I began implementing the tips she’d sent me.

    Then, I stumbled upon a podcast that talked about blogging. I decided to listen to an episode, and it talked about SEO and keyword research. So I began to use the methods I learned about in the podcast. Incorporating these practices into my blogging approach took my viewership from 100 readers a month to tens of thousands of readers every month.

    Another friend shared her strategy on newsletter signups and creating free printables. My newsletter subscribers started to increase by hundreds every single week.

    Then, I was offered a chance to become an affiliate for a wellness company. This led to more affiliate opportunities. 

    And I had originally planned on mostly focusing on meditation, mindfulness, and manifestation in the beginning, but an intuitive hunch told me I should focus more of my articles on chakras. These became my biggest and highest ranking articles my first year. 

    So this was my journey to reaching online success: taking one small step forward at a time based on my inner guidance system and help from the Universe.

    Every time I completed one small step, the next would follow. I never would’ve been able to complete any of it if I tried to do everything all at once. (And it would’ve felt super overwhelming.) 

    The Universe knew exactly what I needed when I needed it, and it provided guidance one small step at a time.

    There are no overnight success stories. Even people who seem to have no problem manifesting whatever they want didn’t start out that way. I certainly didn’t start out that way. And there were so many times in the beginning that I wanted to give up, but an inner voice told me to keep going. To keep trusting. I knew I was on the right path, even though I couldn’t see what was coming up ahead.

    The key shift came when I realized that just because I didn’t experience instant, overnight success didn’t mean I wasn’t manifesting. I realized that these every time I was nudged in a certain direction, I was receiving. And as long as I kept following those nudges, I’d continue to receive. Every single step was a result of aligned action. Every single small step forward brought me closer to my dreams.

    How To Start Taking Small Steps To Manifest Your Dreams

    Each day, you have the opportunity to take steps toward manifesting your dreams.

    The most profound steps are ones that are inspired by your deep inner knowing; they should feel good and right to you, even if some of them may scare you a little. This means taking inspired action based on what your intuition is telling you. Remember, this is a form of receiving. Receive this guidance. Follow it. Let the Universe continue to lead you down your authentic path.

    Know that every small step you take makes a big difference in your overall journey.

    If your small step is simply sending an email, buying a book, or registering for a class, it may not feel like a big thing, but it’s actually a huge step forward in your manifestation journey. Your small step can even be something as simple as writing down a list of goals or creating a vision board. Don’t put pressure on yourself to do “really big” things all the time. If you take one small step each day for the next month, you’ll be 30 steps ahead of where you are today.

    Every morning, ask yourself at least one of these questions:

    • Where is the Universe guiding me next?
    • What feels like the next right step for me?
    • What’s one small step I can do today to lead me toward my dreams?

    You might find it helpful to keep a dedicated notebook just for documenting these next steps (or to include this as a section in your daily journaling practice).

    Now, if nothing comes to you right away, that’s okay. Some days, you may not receive a new “next step” but rather a continuation of a previous step. Other days, your mind may feel a little foggy, or nothing will feel right to you.

    That’s completely okay. This doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.

    If your mind is feeling a little clouded, don’t try to force something to come forward. Instead, focus on meditation and mindfulness practices. Let it come forward naturally. (It’s kind of like trying to force a cat out of its hiding spot. The more you try to force it, the less likely it will come to you. But when you walk away and focus on other things, eventually, it will come out in its own time.)

    If you’d rather not approach this as a daily practice, you can also approach this on a weekly or monthly basis. At the beginning of a new week or month, ask the Universe for guidance on what your next steps should be. See what comes forward. Write it down so you can’t ignore it.

    Once you’ve written it down, see if you can pick up on any subtle feelings within. Looking at it on the paper in front of you, does it still feel right? Is this the thing you’re meant to do?

    If so, now it’s time to take aligned action. Take that step. Do the thing that feels right deep within.

    What Does A Small Step Look Like?

    A small step is an action you can take that will serve and support your manifestation journey.

    If you don’t meditate but have been receiving signs and inner nudges to start, then your small step can simply be trying a ten-minute mindfulness meditation today.

    A small step can be purchasing a book, researching a specific topic, creating a spreadsheet, buying a product or course, signing up for a free webinar – anything that feels right to you.

    Note that everything I listed above is a seemingly simple thing. Nothing feels too overwhelming. This is what most of your small steps will look like: gentle nudges that feel clear, loving, and expansive.

    There is a next tier, though: steps that will feel a little bigger than buying a book or signing up for a free webinar.

    Let’s say you want to manifest your soulmate. You’re called to create a dating profile. Maybe you create it, but you don’t even make it active yet. Creating that profile is one single step. Making it active is the next step. Responding to a message may be the next step after that. And then, if it feels right to you, going out on a date with someone you’ve clicked with might be the next step.

    That fourth step of going on a date is a little bigger than creating the initial profile. But when you look at each step from an objective perspective, you can see how aligned action and leaning into divine flow has led you to this moment. Small steps are the foundation that lead you to these bigger, more exciting steps.

    And finally, there is a third tier as well: those big leaps we talked about in the introduction.

    One major reason why a person may shy away from their dreams is because they believe their journey consists of just these really big leaps.

    But it’s the small steps that will make up most of your journey. The big leaps will come less often, and they’re usually a result of all the small steps you’ve taken to get to this place.

    For me, one of my biggest leaps was quitting my full-time corporate job to pursue writing. I didn’t make this leap overnight. I didn’t yet fully trust my inner knowing, and it took a few months before I finally made the jump. In this case, my rational brain helped me out. I found it beneficial to ask, “What’s the worst thing that can happen?” Even if it didn’t work out, I knew I could always get a new job. I also knew that even if it didn’t work out, that didn’t mean I had failed. No matter what, I would learn and grow from the process. 

    During your journey, you’ll take a lot of small steps, some slightly bigger steps, and a few giant leaps.

    What these steps all have in common is that they’ll be a result of aligned action.

    Or, in the simplest terms, they’re going to feel right.

    When you’re vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you’ll be in the mode to receive guidance about these next steps. Your vibration is where it all begins. The more the vibration of peace/love/gratitude/success/abundance/joy/freedom (and anything else that feels good to you) becomes your norm, the easier it will be to receive those intuitive nudges leading you to the next step.

    I want to end with this:

    Sometimes, your next step won’t make sense to anyone but you. Other people will have no idea why it’s so important to you to read that book or sign up for that webinar or research a specific topic that you suddenly can’t stop thinking about.

    And that’s okay.

    What Is Manifestation?

    Manifestation is the practice of consciously tuning your energy to the frequency of your desires, thus attracting more experiences into your life that match this energetic frequency.

    So how exactly does this work?

    Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling right now as you read this. What’s the dominant feeling in your body at this moment? Maybe you’re in a state of curiosity and knowledge-seeking. Maybe you’re feeling a little bored. Maybe you’re content and at peace. Or maybe you’re a little stressed or worried about something that’s happening in your outer world.

    Now, imagine that you have a bubble around you. This is your energetic field. That dominant feeling you possess is also the current dominant energetic frequency of this field.

    So if you’re currently feeing content and peaceful, your energetic bubble is vibrating at the frequency of contentment and peace.

    If you’re stressed and worried, then these are the feelings taking up your energetic field.

    You may have heard the phrase, “What you put out, you get back.” This is also the foundational law (The Great Law, or Law of Cause and Effect) for the 12 Laws of Karma: The energy you put out into the world is what comes back to you, whether you’re conscious of it or not.

    This law applies to your energetic field. Let’s say you have a great family and a beautiful home, but no matter how much you have, it’s never enough. If “never enough” (i.e. lack and scarcity) is your dominant vibration, you’ll constantly attract experiences that center around never having enough.

    But if you put out the energy of gratitude and abundance, you attract experiences that bring you even more reasons to feel grateful and abundant.

    So in manifestation, you’re consciously tuning your energetic frequency to match the vibration of what you want to attract.

    If you want to attract romantic love, you can put out the energy of love and connection, before that perfect partner has entered your life. If you want to attract financial prosperity, you can put out the energy of already being wealthy and abundant. By matching your vibration to these good-feeling things, you become a magnet for the very thing you want to show up in your life.

    Below, you’ll find 8 powerful manifestation games to attract your desires. I describe each of these manifestation games in this article, but for even more information, you can click the corresponding links in each section to read full articles on how to practice each manifesting method.

    Manifestation Games

    Abundance Checks

    Abundance checks (or cheques) are blank checks that you can use to aid you in manifesting financial prosperity. You can find free digital abundance checks online, create your own, or use checks from your own checkbook for this practice.

    On your check, you’ll write the amount of money you want to manifest and put your own name on the payee line. You’ll also date it for either today’s date or a date in the future. On the memo line, you can write down what this money is for (i.e. “Dream home”) or why you’re receiving this money (“For being your beautiful, authentic self”).

    Finally, where is this money coming from? Sign the check from the Universe. If you’re using a free digital abundance check, the signature line may already come pre-filled.

    Once your check is filled out, know that your manifestation is done. The money is coming. You can release your worries and align with the positive feelings of having this money right now.

    Here are some ways you can use your abundance check to amplify your manifestations:

    • Store it in your wallet, and each time you see your check in there, feel all the positive emotions of having that amount of money right now.
    • Hang it up on a bulletin board and take some time to look at it each day. Visualize the experience of receiving this amount of money, and tune your energy to the frequency of pure abundance.
    • Place it in a drawer, a lockbox, or somewhere safe. Surrender your desires to the universe, and walk forward in faith and trust.

    Pillow Method For Manifestation

    The directions to follow for the pillow method are fairly simple and straightforward:

    Write an affirmation on a piece of paper and place that paper under your pillow for a set amount of days. Let that affirmation be the last thing you think about as you fall asleep, allowing it to sink into your subconscious brain. Let go, surrender control, and allow the Universe to deliver your manifestation into your physical experience.

    The affirmation you use for this practice is going to be what I call a Future Pacing Affirmation.

    These are affirmations in which you state that what you want to manifest is already yours.

    For instance, if you want to manifest financial prosperity, you might write something like, “Financial abundance continually flows my way through multiple streams of income.” You could also write, “I am financially free with a limitless abundance of wealth and prosperity.”

    • Decide what you want to manifest.
    • Create a powerful future pacing affirmation rooted in your desire. Write this affirmation on a piece of paper.
    • Place the piece of paper under your pillow.
    • Before you fall asleep at night, visualize having your desire in the present moment, feeling all the positive emotions of having what you want to manifest.
    • Continue for 7 to 10 days, or until it feels right to remove it.
    • Let go. Surrender control to the Universe. Trust. Receive.

    55×5 Manifestation Method

    The 55×5 (also written as 5×55 or 555) Manifestation Method is another manifestation game that’s fairly straightforward: it simply requires you to choose an affirmation, then write down that affirmation 55 times in a row for 5 days straight.

    The affirmation you choose is going to be another future pacing affirmation, like the one I described above. Specifically, you’re going to focus on something that you want to manifest soon and phrase this affirmation as if it’s already come true.

    Here are a few examples:

    • I am so happy and grateful for the extra $1,000 I received this week!
    • I’m so grateful the sellers accepted my offer on my dream house!
    • I can’t believe I’m going on my dream vacation to Hawaii!

    So using the first example above, on the first day, you’ll write this sentence 55 times in a row (in one sitting): “I am so happy and grateful for the extra $1,000 I received this week!”

    On day two, you’ll again write that same sentence 55 times in a row in one sitting.

    Days 3, 4, and 5: same thing.

    The key here is to allow yourself to feel all the positive emotions as if your desired manifestation has already true. So if you’re affirming that you received $1,000 this week, vibrate at the frequency of financial prosperity and abundance. See if you can carry this high vibration with you throughout your day.

    369 Method

    The 369 Method is a simple yet effective manifestation game that utilizes the power of journaling, affirmations, and your own powerful vibration.

    To practice this manifestation method, choose an affirmation based on what you want to manifest, then write down this affirmation three times in the morning, six times in the afternoon, and nine times in the evening. The affirmation you use will be another future pacing affirmation.

    Here are a few examples of the types of affirmations you might use:

    • I feel joyful and thankful now that I’m driving my dream car!
    • My heart is filled with gratitude for the 10 new clients I signed this month.
    • I truly appreciate the extra $5,000 I received in my bank account.

    Repeat this exercise for at least 21 days in order to truly maximize your results.

    Again, the key here is to allow yourself to feel the positive feelings of having your desired manifestation in your life right now. So if your affirmation states that you received an extra $5,000 in your bank account this week, then allow yourself to feel the abundant energy of having this money right now. Carry this feeling with you not just when you’re writing your affirmation but throughout your entire day.

    By continuously vibrating at the frequency of your desire for 21 days, this vibration is more likely to become your vibrational set point. You’ll no longer have to strive to feel financially abundant because it’ll be part of your foundational energy.

    Manifesting With Candles

    Candles can be a powerful addition to your manifestation practice, as fire represents power and your inner light. Candles can also create a feeling of calm and inner serenity, allowing you to release negative energy and open yourself up to receiving.

    When you first start incorporating candles into your manifestation practice, it’s best to use a brand new candle specifically chosen for this purpose. You can continue to use this candle for manifesting, but try to keep it as a dedicated manifestation candle.

    Below, you’ll find the steps to follow to incorporate candles into your manifestation ritual. To learn what color of candle you should use depending on what you want to manifest, check out my article on candle colors for manifestation here.

    • Find a quiet, safe spot where you won’t be interrupted. If you have a sacred space or meditation table, this is ideal.
    • Start with a brief meditation to create a feeling of calm within. You can either light your candle before you start meditating or right after.
    • Start visualizing what exactly you want to manifest. See it in your mind’s eye. As you visualize, feel all the positive emotions of having this thing in the present moment.
    • Now, you’re going to set your intention. What do you want to manifest? You might start by saying, “Dear Universe . . .” Be clear about what you want. Remember to express sincere gratitude for all that you have and all that’s on its way to you right now.
    • Then, let it go. You might visualize your intention as a paper lantern or balloon flying higher and higher up into the sky until it disappears. This represents letting go of your desire and trusting the Universe to take care of you.

    Manifesting With Essential Oils

    When used correctly, essential oils can be another powerful addition to your manifesting practice. And the best thing is, you don’t actually have to do a lot of work when you’re using them; the essential oils will do most of the work for you.

    Your main job is to be intentional.

    So whether you’re using them in a diffuser, wearing them topically (when safe), or rubbing a little bit of oil on a dollar bill, make sure you set a clear intention when you’re working with them.

    Here are some of the ways you can incorporate essential oils into fun and easy manifestation games:

    • Dab a drop of oil onto money, photos, letters, or other items associated with your manifestations. If you want to manifest success with your business, you might dab some oil onto a business card. For financial prosperity, you can drop a bit of oil onto a dollar bill and keep it in your wallet. Find a creative way to use your chosen oil with an item you associate with your desired manifestation!
    • If it’s safe to do so, you can wear the manifestation oil on your body daily, or wear it during especially important moments. You can also dab a bit on your jewelry, if you prefer.
    • You can also use essential oils and candles together to amplify your manifesting practice. Before you start the candle ritual I described above, you can rub a bit of manifesting oil at the top of the candle, pulling upward, as you visualize your desires.

    Scripting

    Scripting is a practice that utilizes both journaling and visualization to envision the life you desire. In this practice, you write about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest.

    For instance, let’s say you want to manifest your dream job.

    When you sit down to script, you’d write about your day as if you have your dream job right now, in the present moment. You might write as though you’re looking back on your day, describing all the details of a day on the job. Or you can write as though you’re experiencing it right now in this moment. (i.e. “I walk through the doors of my office and see . . .”)

    The key here is to write as if you’re already living your dreams and desires right now in this present moment. You’ve made it. You have everything you can dream of and more. There is no more waiting; it’s all here for you, and all you have to do is reach out and grab it.

    New Moon Rituals

    The new moon offers a beautiful opportunity for a cosmic reset. This is a perfect time to check in with yourself, connect to your authentic desires, and set intentions for your life goals and vision.

    This is also a time for cleansing any old, stagnant energy that’s been building up within and releasing all that no longer serves you to make space for new beginnings.

    You can incorporate any of the manifestation games above into your new moon ritual to amplify your intentions. Additionally, here are a few of my favorite new moon rituals for manifestation:

    • Plant Seeds of Intention: Pick 3 things you want to manifest over this next moon cycle. Imagine that each intention is a seed that you’re going to plant into your life garden. Take the first seed and envision yourself gently planting it in the earth in front of you. See your intention manifesting in your reality, and feel the positive emotions associated with this dream coming true. Do the same for the second and third seeds. You can visualize this practice in meditation, or if you’d like, you can actually plant three physical seeds in your outdoor garden or indoor potted plants.
    • Write a New Moon List: Take some time to connect with your inner self and write lists of everything you want to manifest in the next month, everything you’re releasing, what you’re grateful for, the primary feelings you want to embody (joy, gratitude, etc.), and any other positive changes you want to make over the next month.
    • Take a Detox Bath: A detox bath allows you to detox your total self: mind, body, and soul. This bath is meant for spiritual and energetic cleansing. During this time, put away your phone or any other distractions. Focus solely on your own inner tranquility. Sink into relaxation and self-care. By embracing your inner peace, you release stagnant energy within and make space for new energy to come forth. Use essential oils, crystals, epsom salt, candles, and anything else that supports your mind, body, and soul.
