They’re for anyone who has a dream in their heart that they know they’re meant to follow.

    You can be a writer, singer, actor, painter, designer, creator, or a maker and still be an entrepreneur.

    For those who have started on the path to creating something beautiful with their own talents and resources, you’ve likely already endured hardships and disappointments. Maybe your first try at putting yourself out there didn’t go the way you planned. Maybe you’ve created something truly amazing, but it just hasn’t reached enough people yet.

    I know this sounds crazy, but this is what I’ve learned through my own experience with entrepreneurship: the struggle is the gift.

    I don’t know anyone who has experienced an easy path to success. In fact, those who we often deem “overnight successes” have usually been working on their craft for years. It only looks like it was overnight to the rest of us because we don’t see the entire journey with all of its ups and downs.

    Everyone experiences some kind of hardship on their journey; this is a good thing. Challenges aren’t meant to make you quit; they’re an opportunity to take action. Maybe you’ve been so focused on one path for so long, you’ve missed some other possible paths along the way. Hardship gives you the opportunity to step back and see what you’ve been missing.

    And I can also tell you this, as crazy as it sounds: often, our greatest so-called failures come right before the big success. I’ve experienced this time and time again in my own life: I’ll be excited because I think my big break is coming, only to immediately get let down by rejection, seeming failure, and obstacles that seem too hard to endure.

    The key is to keep going.

    Because every time I’ve kept going despite the seeming failure, that’s when what I wanted to manifest finally came true in my reality.

    So for the risk-taker, dreamer, doer, believer, self-starter, and entrepreneur: if you have a dream in your heart, trust that it was meant for you. Keep going, even when it feels hard. Give yourself an abundance of love and compassion on this journey.

    How to Use Meditation Affirmations

    An affirmation is any statement you make about yourself and/or the world that you affirm to be true. Positive affirmations, specifically, are present-tense statements that are designed to uplift and encourage while boosting self-belief and supporting your overall well-being.

    If you meditate regularly, you may already incorporate affirmations in your meditation in some capacity. When I first started meditating, I solely focused on my breathing during meditations. It wasn’t until I started listening to guided meditations that I began incorporating affirmations, as well as other practices such as visualization, in my daily meditations.

    So what exactly are meditation affirmations, and how do you use them?

    Truly, a meditation affirmation can be anything. For instance, if you want to connect with your creativity, you might recite affirmations for creativity during your meditation. Or if you want to create more prosperity in your life, you can use affirmations to manifest abundance.

    Personally, when I think about meditation affirmations, I tend to think about affirmations that invite a sense of calm, stability, and inner peace into my world. I like to use meditation affirmations that help me to feel centered and grounded, no matter what’s going on in my external world.

    There are no hard rules for using meditation affirmations. You can incorporate them as a small part of your meditation, or you can center your entire meditation around using calming and/or empowering affirmations. It’s also okay to say your affirmations either in your head, at a whisper, or aloud; it just depends on what feels most comfortable for you.

    Below are 50 meditation affirmations to help you feel grounded, peaceful, and secure. Most of these affirmations are fairly short and easy to remember, so you can choose to memorize the ones that resonate most or keep a list of affirmations nearby during your meditation.     Facing Challenges and Adversity

    I use positive affirmations often throughout my daily life, but I’ve found that the times I’ve often needed them the most have been when I’ve been most reluctant to use them. Throughout my journey of cultivating unconditional self-love, I’ve faced a lot of hardships, obstacles, and challenges. Early on, it was tough for me to find positive words during these times. I’d often feel frustrated over what I perceived to be a lack of progress or success.

    What I learned was that I couldn’t just use positive affirmations; I had to truly feel them in my bones. So when I woke up telling myself, “I have the tools I need to handle anything that comes my way today,” I needed to truly believe it. And beyond that: I had to live it.

    That meant when challenges presented themselves in my daily life, I couldn’t just resort to feeling annoyance or frustration. I had to go back to the empowering words I had recited in my affirmations and know in my heart that I can handle this.

    And then, I took it a step further. Because I realized it wasn’t just about “handling” or “getting through” obstacles and roadblocks. And it wasn’t even just about knowing I had the ability to overcome challenges.

    It was about believing that these hard times served some kind of purpose and learning the lessons that they offered. I discovered there was beauty to be found in the moments when things didn’t go my way. And I also learned to trust that if things weren’t working out the way I wanted them to, it was often because something better was coming.

    To be clear, this doesn’t mean you should engage in toxic positivity. You don’t have to force yourself to pretend that the hardships don’t sometimes hurt. One of the most profound experiences I’ve encountered over the last several years was when I was going through a rough patch, and I found myself crying daily, feeling sad and lost and uncertain about my future. I allowed myself to feel all of that pain, but even in the sadness, I still had deep trust that everything would work out for me. I knew in my heart that I would become stronger for this experience. I gave myself permission to explore the depth of my emotions fully while still knowing that the universe would support me and have my back no matter what.

    After walking through that experience with faith and grace, I became a little less afraid of future challenges and roadblocks. I knew that in some way, every experience I encountered was a gift, no matter how heavy the world sometimes felt.

    I believe we’re all capable of handling so much more than we realize. You are so much stronger and braver and more powerful than you know. You have the ability to face any obstacle, and you also have the ability to step back and discover how your greatest challenges can often be your greatest gifts.

    Cultivating Happiness

    When I turned five years old, I remember blowing out the candles on my birthday cake and making a wish for limitless candy that I could eat whenever I wanted. M&M’s were my favorite, but I wasn’t super picky: chocolate candy, fruity candy, hard candies and lollipops . . . I’d take it all.

    Okay, maybe not all. Black licorice and spicy candies were a hard pass.

    I don’t remember when the transition happened, but at some point, a realization had occurred to me. Toys, CDs, and limitless candy were all cool, but what if there was a way that I could have all of that and more?

    What if there was one word that could give me everything I had ever wanted?

    Happiness.

    If I wished for happiness, I thought, that meant that I’d get everything I wanted without there being a catch. Because if I was happy, that meant my family and friends were healthy and happy as well. (Because I knew that if they weren’t happy, I wouldn’t be, either.) So by wishing for happiness, I wasn’t just wishing for happiness just for myself but for everyone I loved.

    And even at this young age, I knew that wishing for happiness meant that I might not get toys and limitless candy, because maybe those things wouldn’t make me truly happy. So I trusted that everything that would make me happy would come to me.

    My concept of happiness was simple when I was a sweet ten-year-old who wanted nothing more than to ride bikes and read books and jump on my best friend’s trampoline. After I graduated high school and into college, I spend a lot of time relearning what happiness truly meant, often overcomplicating it and sometimes believing it would always be just out of reach.

    I’ve come full circle since then, once again simplifying my definition of happiness, but I’ve also learned something that I didn’t quite understand as a young girl.

    My happiness never came from all the candy or toys or CDs or any of the things I was given. Sure, those things brought me fleeting moments of joy, but lasting happiness didn’t come from things.

    Lasting happiness came from within.

    I’ve learned that happiness comes when I make happiness a priority, and even more importantly, happiness comes when I choose it.

    And what I’ve discovered most of all is that happiness isn’t a result of getting everything I want; happiness comes when I feel grateful for everything I already have. When I view my life from a perspective of appreciation and abundance rather than scarcity and lack, happiness and joy flow effortlessly into my inner and outer worlds.

    Creating Your Vision Board

    A vision board is a collection of words and/or images that represent your highest self living your ideal life. You might choose to create a poster board filled with inspiring images cut out from magazines or printed from the internet. You could also create a vision board in a journal or write out your visions on a piece of paper. There are also apps like VisuApp that allow you to create portable vision boards on your phone. And one of the simplest ways to create a portable vision board is to create a designated album in your photo library and save inspiring images and words to it.

    However you decide to create your vision board, know that there’s no wrong or right way to start it as long as it feels true to you. That means choosing things that you truly want and not just what you think you’re supposed to want.

    When I’m first creating a new vision board, I like to begin with a list of categories to incorporate into the vision board. Common categories might include the following: Relationships, Career, Home, Health, Wealth, Spirituality, Fitness, Car, Self-Care, and Hobbies/Fun. Once I know my categories, I’ll include images, words, and quotes that represent each category.

    One of my favorite additions to any vision board is including inspirational, high-vibe vision board affirmations and quotes surrounding the images. For a portable vision board, I might save empowering quotes and affirmations to the vision board album on my phone. And when I create a vision board on paper or poster board, I’ll write inspirational words to the sides of the images to remind myself that I am worthy, powerful, and more than enough.

    New Moon Meaning & Symbolism

    In astronomy, a new moon occurs every 29.5 days and marks the first lunar phase, representing the beginning of a new lunar cycle. Generally, there is one new moon every month, though sometimes, there will be two; this rare second new moon of the month is called a black moon. (A black moon occurs once every 32 months.)

    In many ways, the new moon can be viewed as a cosmic reset. Just as the moon seems to turn inward, so do we. The new moon is the perfect time for getting in touch with your inner self and gauging where you are and what you want with your life.

    What do you truly desire? What dreams have been planted in your heart? What goals do you want to achieve over the next month? Do you possess any limiting beliefs that you want to release?

    These are just some of the questions you can begin to ask yourself as you embrace the revitalizing energy of the new moon.

    The new moon represents fresh starts and new beginnings. You can imagine that you have a blank canvas in front of you, and you get to paint your future with anything and everything you desire in this life.

    Here are some ideal new moon practices for goal-setting, connecting with your inner self, and manifesting your dreams:

    • Write down your goals and intentions.
    • Visualize yourself planting your intentions in the earth.
    • Visualize the dream life you want to create for yourself.
    • Get in touch with yourself through journaling. Here are a few sentences you can use to start your new moon journaling:
      • “I am releasing . . .”
      • “I am setting the intention to . . .”
      • “I am manifesting . . .”
      • You can also ask yourself: “What does my soul need?”
    • Release limiting beliefs, negative thoughts, and anything that doesn’t serve or support your mind, body, and spirit.
    • Repeat new moon affirmations. Write down your affirmations and continue to come back to them throughout the lunar cycle.

    New Moon Meditation

    Find a quiet spot where you won’t be distracted or interrupted. You can use candles, crystals, or essential oils if you wish. Find a position that feels most comfortable for you. You can sit cross-legged on the floor, on a chair with your feet planted on the floor, or laying down on the ground. If you have a meditation table, this is an ideal time to sit in front of it. You might also decide to go outside to connect with the earth.

    Close your eyes. Think of three intentions you want to set. These intentions can be as seemingly big or small as you’d like. Imagine that you’re holding three seeds. These seeds represent your intentions. Take the first seed and imagine yourself gently planting it in the earth in front of you. See your dreams coming true in your reality, and feel the positive emotions associated with this dream coming true. Express gratitude to the universe for supporting you in your dreams. Repeat this with the second seed, planting another intention in the earth in front of you. Finally, repeat this process with the third seed.

    Once all your intentions have been planted, release them to the universe. Express gratitude, and allow true peace to fill every cell of your being as you know that you are exactly where you are meant to be, and everything is working out perfectly for you.
