    What Is The Law Of Attraction?

    The Law of Attraction is one of the 12 spiritual laws of the universe. While each of these universal laws is inextricably linked with one another, the Law of Attraction is arguably the most well-known in both popular culture and in the spiritual community.

    So what exactly makes the Law of Attraction so special?

    To answer this, we first need to understand what the Law of Attraction is and how it affects our daily lives.

    The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like; the vibrations, beliefs, and emotions we put out into the world are what we receive in our lived experiences.

    In the most basic sense, this is how it works:

    If you approach your daily life emitting feelings of joy, love, and positivity, you receive experiences in your life that mirror these emotions.

    But if you maintain a negative attitude in which you always consider yourself the victim and claim that nothing ever works out for you, you’ll continue to receive experiences that reflect this belief.

    (There’s a little more to this, though, and we’ll cover that below.)

    By understanding how the Law of Attraction works, we can use this law to consciously vibrate at the frequency of what we want to attract. We usually refer to this practice as manifestation.

    In this article, we’ll cover how you can use the Law of Attraction to manifest your future, plus we’ll dive deeper into how the other spiritual laws all support the Law of Attraction. (Simply put, you can’t have the Law of Attraction on its own. These laws are all intertwined, and together, they create a special kind of magic. More on that below!)

    How Does The Law Of Attraction Work?

    The Law of Attraction is a profound reminder that your greatest power is always in the present moment.

    How often do you check in with your thoughts? Do you ever step back and ask, “What energy am I emitting right now?”

    For many of us, it’s easy to replay events of the past or worry about the future. In fact, this may be our status quo. What can I worry about? What unseen challenges ahead can I prepare myself for? How can I protect myself from an uncertain future?

    We gravitate towards these types of thoughts because they feel like control.

    But the truth is, replaying the same past-based and future-based thoughts isn’t control at all.

    Again, your greatest power is in the present moment. Your control over your future is in this present moment. It’s in how you show up for yourself. It’s in the energy you put out into the world.

    It’s in your dominant vibration.

    To go back to the beginning, like attracts like. If you’re constantly replaying your fears on a loop, you become a vibrational match for the very experiences you fear. (You might refer to this as a self-fulfilling prophecy.)

    But when you lean into peace, trust, gratitude, and other powerful, uplifting emotions, you become a vibrational match for more of these types of experiences to manifest in your reality.

    That is, in essence, how the Law of Attraction works.

    One important note I want to make, though, is this:

    This does not mean you have to be happy 100% of the time. And this absolutely does not mean you have to suppress negative thoughts and feelings within. When you suppress energy, it doesn’t go away; rather, it remains inside of you until you’re ready to acknowledge and fully feel it, even if it’s uncomfortable at first.

    It’s important to understand this:

    There’s a difference between someone who is constantly angry, bitter, and negative about life versus someone who has a pretty positive attitude but just has a bad day every once in a while. Having bad days and low moments just means you’re human.

    The key is practicing compassion.

    If you can continually practice compassion when you’re experiencing heavy and low moments, that love and compassion you feel for yourself will instantly lift your vibration to a better place.

    How To Use The Law Of Attraction To Manifest Your Future

    Now, I’m going to share with you what I call the manifestation blueprint.

    What often prevents people from becoming confident long-term manifestors is that they treat manifestation like a game. They usually have a fake-it-til-you-make-it mentality. “If I can just remain 100% happy and positive all the time, everything I want will come to me.”

    When I first started my journey, that was what I believed. And I’ll tell you, it was exhausting and not mentally sustainable.

    The truth is, manifestation is less of a game and more of an art. There’s an ebb and flow between you and the universe that can actually be really easy and feel really good once you learn how to lean into it.

    So here’s the manifestation blueprint:

    • First, you set an intention based on the authentic, deeply felt dreams that have been placed in your heart.
    • You communicate this intention to the Universe. Your positive vibrations are one way of communicating this intention, as by vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you express that you’re ready to receive more of this good-feeling thing. (This is where the Law of Attraction comes in.)
    • The Universe works behind the scenes to set everything in motion. It communicates back to you in the form of signs, synchronicities, and most importantly, your own intuition. Being in the vibration of what you desire allows you to receive these signs and inner nudges with clarity. (In contrast, being in a state of stress, worry, and anger will cause you to miss these signs and feelings.)
    • Then, you take inspired action based on the communication the Universe has given you. (More on this below.)
    • This communication between you and the Universe continues. The Universe sends you signs (usually through your intuition), and you follow your intuition by taking aligned action. Essentially, once the Universe communicates what to do, you do that thing.
    • And as you follow this path, you’ll begin to see your dream manifest into your reality. Keep following the nudges. Keep taking inspired action. And stay in the vibration of your dreams and desires so you can receive divine guidance when it comes.

    The 12 Laws Of The Universe

    So now, let’s return to what we discussed in the intro. The Law of Attraction is just one of the 12 Laws of the Universe. If you’re interested in learning more, I go into a deeper explanation of what these 12 laws are in this article.

    Here’s a quick list of these 12 spiritual laws:

    I definitely recommend learning more about each of these laws, as the Law of Attraction is only one piece of a larger puzzle.

    The Law of Vibration and the Law of Inspired Action are especially important when understanding how the Law of Attraction works, so I’m going to focus on those two right now.

    The Law of Vibration

    The Law of Vibration states that everything and every being is in a constant state of vibration, always emitting frequencies and energies that often aren’t seen on the surface.

    When you hear about the Law of Attraction, you’ll often hear the word vibration being used. “Raise your vibration” and “high vibrations” are common phrases in this space.

    But what exactly does this mean?

    Everything is always in constant motion. If you walk outside, you’ll see that everything in nature holds a different energy, or vibrational frequency. The energy of the sun is different than the energy of the trees, which is different than the energy of your car.

    You, too, hold a vibrational frequency. This frequency can and often does change. 

    Once you understand that you possess your own vibrational frequency, you realize you have the power to tune your frequency to a higher vibration. 

    The vibrational frequency you emit has a profound effect on your daily experience. When you operate at a higher frequency, you invite a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment into your world.

    So the Law of Attraction and the Law of Vibration are inextricably intertwined: the vibration you emit into the world is what you’re attracting.

    I also like to think of it like this:

    What are you moving towards right now? Are you moving towards stress? Worry? Anger? Are you moving towards peace? Trust? Freedom? Every feeling and emotion holds its own vibration.

    What you’re moving towards is moving towards you, too.

    Or, rather, the vibration you’re moving towards is also moving towards you.

    The Law of Inspired Action

    This is a big one. In fact, this is the primary reason why people claim the Law of Attraction doesn’t work: because they’re skipping this foundational universal law.

    Simply put, you can’t have the Law of Attraction without the Law of Inspired Action.

    So what exactly is this law?

    The Law of Inspired Action states that you must take real, actionable, inspired steps in order to achieve your goals and invite your manifestations into your life.

    Here’s how I like to explain it:

    What you want also wants you. Do you long to experience true love? True love wants you, too. Are you seeking financial prosperity? Financial prosperity wants you, too.

    It was never about becoming more worthy of these things. You are already infinitely worthy of what you desire. It’s simply about becoming an energetic match for these positive experiences to enter your life.

    Once you start vibrating at the frequency of love and abundance, you become an energetic match for more love and abundance to enter your life.

    But does that mean you’re automatically going to receive these things in your life right now?

    Not necessarily.

    If you’re an energetic match for experiencing financial abundance, you may not see financial prosperity in your life right this second. But that doesn’t mean your manifestation isn’t working.

    Remember what I wrote in the manifestation steps above? This is part of the third bulletpoint:

    “Being in the vibration of what you desire allows you to receive these signs and inner nudges with clarity.”

    So if you’re an energetic match for abundance, you’re in the vibration to receive intuitive nudges to guide you on the path toward your abundance. These intuitive nudges may tell you to go talk to a person, sign up for a course, submit an application, start a blog, write a book – the possibilities are endless.

    Once you receive this intuitive nudge, that’s when you take inspired action.

    Inspired action is based on surrendering to the guidance of the universe and listening to the call of your inner knowing.

    So again, this is often the missing link when people say the Law of Attraction doesn’t work. They believe that if something doesn’t materialize in their outer world, it’s not working.

    But often, it is working. They may be receiving intuitive guidance to take an inspired step forward.

    But without fully understanding the full scope of the universal laws, this intuitive guidance may be ignored.


    The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like; the vibrations, beliefs, and emotions you put out into the world are what you receive in your lived experiences. By understanding how this law works, you can intentionally tune your vibration to match your desires, thus attracting more of what you want into your lived experience. But remember: you can’t have the Law of Attraction without the other 11 universal laws. Each law is linked, and together, they create a roadmap to a life of true peace and fulfillment.

    We often focus on the really big actions we take to achieve our dreams, but the path to manifesting your dreams and desires is most often paved in the small steps you take each day.     Small Steps

    Have you ever known someone who decided they wanted to lose weight and went all in right away?

    From day one, they’re working out one to two hours every day and cutting their daily calorie intake in half. For the first couple weeks, they might see big results. They lose several pounds the first week, and then a few more the second.

    But then, the drastic leap they’ve made starts to take its toll.

    They begin to backslide, skipping workouts and eating even more than when they began their weight loss journey. Trying to make a big lifestyle change in one massive leap often leaves a person feeling tired, overwhelmed, and anxious.

    And because of this, they often give up, believing that they’re just not cut out for this type of lifestyle change.

    The exact same pattern often happens in manifestation.

    When you learn about manifesting, it feels really exciting at first. You’re excited to create your reality through utilizing the power of your own positive vibration. You dedicate yourself to having positive thoughts all the time, trying to suppress any worry, stress, fear, or anxiety that you feel within. You want things to happen quickly, so you try to take massive leaps and bold jumps forward.

    But after a couple weeks, this starts to take its toll.

    It can be tiring to try to be positive all the time. And it can also be stressful and scary to feel like you always have to make these massive leaps forward – especially when you’re not seeing immediate results.

    Like crash diets, crash manifesting often leaves you feeling worse than you did before you started. And it’s also not healthy for your total well-being: mind, body, and soul.

    Here’s the truth about manifesting: there will be times when you’re required to take big leaps forward. To do the thing you’re afraid to do. To trust your inner knowing, even though it feels kind of scary. You’ll know these moments when they come; you’ll feel it deep within when the time is right to do something that feels really big and life-changing.

    But most of your journey won’t be defined by those really big leaps.

    It’s the small steps you take each day that will make all the difference.

    Why Small Steps Are The Way Forward

    Consider the crash dieter, who tries to do it all at once: work out daily, cut their calories, walk over 10,000 steps a day, embody perfection in an attempt to lose twenty pounds in a month, only to gain it all back the next.

    What if they had taken their journey more slowly? 

    Consider this alternative: they start just by replacing their lunch with something a little healthier and adding in three, thirty-minute workouts a week. Maybe they’ll gradually start to increase their step count. Then, they start swapping out some of their high-calorie foods for lower calorie ones, but they still allow some wiggle room for foods they love. They explore different types of exercises to find the ones they enjoy most. They allow themselves to take their time with this new lifestyle change, and because of this, they actually have fun with it.

    They want to do these things because these new habits feel really good.

    Ironically, by releasing the pressure to be perfect, they actually see more long-term success than the person who goes all in right away in an attempt to be perfect.

    I also like to use marathon training as another helpful comparison. When I trained for my first marathon, I knew I wasn’t just going to wake up on Day 1 and run 26.2 miles. I had to create a training plan. In my training plan, I scheduled short runs throughout the week to keep my endurance up and one weekly long run that would gradually increase in distance. My first long run was 8 miles. The next week, it was 9 miles. Then, 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. And so on. 

    Each day, I followed my training plan and made one small step forward at a time to help me prepare for that big 26.2 mile run. When the marathon came, I was able to run the entire length of the race because of the small steps I’d been taking for months before the actual event.

    So what does this have to do with manifestation?

    Let’s take a look at what the path of manifesting your dreams looks like:

    • First, you set an intention based on the authentic, deeply felt dreams that have been placed in your heart.
    • You communicate this intention to the Universe. Your positive vibrations are one way of communicating this intention, as by vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you express that you’re ready to receive more of this good-feeling thing.
    • The Universe works behind the scenes to set everything in motion. It communicates back to you in the form of signs, messages, and most importantly, your own intuition. Being in the vibration of what you desire allows you to receive these signs and inner nudges with clarity. (In contrast, being in a state of stress, worry, and anger will cause you to miss these signs and feelings.)
    • Then, you take inspired action based on the communication the Universe has given you. This leads you on the path straight to your dreams and desires.

    That is the process of manifestation explained in its most basic form.

    Most of the signs and inner nudges you receive on your path won’t be to do anything really, really big. They’re going to be gentle nudges leading you to take small steps forward. 

    This can be a little frustrating, I know. It’s not glamorous or exciting. Usually, when we want something, we want it now.

    The irony here is that the more we try to force something to happen right now, the more we push it away.

    But when you get into alignment and lean into the natural flow of the universe, releasing your hold on the timeline, things will start moving quicker. The small steps you take may seem inconsequential right now, but they’re going to move you forward so much quicker in the long run than trying to control and force everything to happen at once.

    Small Steps & Aligned Action (My Personal Story)

    To help you visualize what the path of manifestation looks like when you’re taking small steps, I want to tell you a bit more about my personal story. Specifically, I want to focus on what it took to build a successful website.

    I didn’t always know that I wanted to be a blogger. This path was revealed to me only after I started practicing quieting my mind through meditation and mindfulness practices. Like a lot of people, I’d been knee-deep in daily stress and anxiety as I worked in the corporate world. I’d been meditating on and off for years, but once I started consistently meditating day after day, subtle shifts began to happen within and all around me. Creative paths and opportunities opened up for me. I started to see possibilities I didn’t see before.

    As a result, my website was born.

    But the path that led me to having a successful website didn’t happen overnight. In fact, it often felt painfully slow.

    My first month, I had about fifty visitors in total. Most of them were my family. The second month, I had maybe fifty-five. Then, sixty. I was releasing blog posts with no set schedule. I didn’t know what SEO was. (SEO = Search Engine Optimization aka the practices you use to get your website to rank on search engines like Google.)

    I didn’t know who my audience was. I knew absolutely nothing except that I was following the path that felt right to me. 

    So each day, I practiced vibrating at the frequency of success. I’d check my website statistics and pretend there were extra zeroes at the end of the audience metrics. I surrounded my computer monitor with post-its that had affirmations on them, such as “I am a successful writer.” I read them every single day, until finally, I no longer needed them because the affirmation became part of my subconscious mind.

    I didn’t wait for success to come to begin feeling successful. I knew that because this dream was within me, it was already mine. I was success. I was abundance. I was everything I could possibly dream of and more.

    Because I was consistently practicing this high vibration, I was an energetic match for my desires. That meant I was in the vibration to receive.

    And I did.

    Every day, I received gentle nudges guiding me to the next step. These were never things I went looking for; they came to me, one at a time. 

    First, another new blogger I’d met through Instagram sent me an email with tips on how to become successful on Pinterest. And I hadn’t even asked! She’d just thought of me and thought it might be useful. And it was; my Pinterest views and clicks began to skyrocket once I began implementing the tips she’d sent me.

    Then, I stumbled upon a podcast that talked about blogging. I decided to listen to an episode, and it talked about SEO and keyword research. So I began to use the methods I learned about in the podcast. Incorporating these practices into my blogging approach took my viewership from 100 readers a month to tens of thousands of readers every month.

    Another friend shared her strategy on newsletter signups and creating free printables. My newsletter subscribers started to increase by hundreds every single week.

    Then, I was offered a chance to become an affiliate for a wellness company. This led to more affiliate opportunities. 

    And I had originally planned on mostly focusing on meditation, mindfulness, and manifestation in the beginning, but an intuitive hunch told me I should focus more of my articles on chakras. These became my biggest and highest ranking articles my first year. 

    So this was my journey to reaching online success: taking one small step forward at a time based on my inner guidance system and help from the Universe.

    Every time I completed one small step, the next would follow. I never would’ve been able to complete any of it if I tried to do everything all at once. (And it would’ve felt super overwhelming.) 

    The Universe knew exactly what I needed when I needed it, and it provided guidance one small step at a time.

    There are no overnight success stories. Even people who seem to have no problem manifesting whatever they want didn’t start out that way. I certainly didn’t start out that way. And there were so many times in the beginning that I wanted to give up, but an inner voice told me to keep going. To keep trusting. I knew I was on the right path, even though I couldn’t see what was coming up ahead.

    The key shift came when I realized that just because I didn’t experience instant, overnight success didn’t mean I wasn’t manifesting. I realized that these every time I was nudged in a certain direction, I was receiving. And as long as I kept following those nudges, I’d continue to receive. Every single step was a result of aligned action. Every single small step forward brought me closer to my dreams.

    How To Start Taking Small Steps To Manifest Your Dreams

    Each day, you have the opportunity to take steps toward manifesting your dreams.

    The most profound steps are ones that are inspired by your deep inner knowing; they should feel good and right to you, even if some of them may scare you a little. This means taking inspired action based on what your intuition is telling you. Remember, this is a form of receiving. Receive this guidance. Follow it. Let the Universe continue to lead you down your authentic path.

    Know that every small step you take makes a big difference in your overall journey.

    If your small step is simply sending an email, buying a book, or registering for a class, it may not feel like a big thing, but it’s actually a huge step forward in your manifestation journey. Your small step can even be something as simple as writing down a list of goals or creating a vision board. Don’t put pressure on yourself to do “really big” things all the time. If you take one small step each day for the next month, you’ll be 30 steps ahead of where you are today.

    Every morning, ask yourself at least one of these questions:

    • Where is the Universe guiding me next?
    • What feels like the next right step for me?
    • What’s one small step I can do today to lead me toward my dreams?

    You might find it helpful to keep a dedicated notebook just for documenting these next steps (or to include this as a section in your daily journaling practice).

    Now, if nothing comes to you right away, that’s okay. Some days, you may not receive a new “next step” but rather a continuation of a previous step. Other days, your mind may feel a little foggy, or nothing will feel right to you.

    That’s completely okay. This doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.

    If your mind is feeling a little clouded, don’t try to force something to come forward. Instead, focus on meditation and mindfulness practices. Let it come forward naturally. (It’s kind of like trying to force a cat out of its hiding spot. The more you try to force it, the less likely it will come to you. But when you walk away and focus on other things, eventually, it will come out in its own time.)

    If you’d rather not approach this as a daily practice, you can also approach this on a weekly or monthly basis. At the beginning of a new week or month, ask the Universe for guidance on what your next steps should be. See what comes forward. Write it down so you can’t ignore it.

    Once you’ve written it down, see if you can pick up on any subtle feelings within. Looking at it on the paper in front of you, does it still feel right? Is this the thing you’re meant to do?

    If so, now it’s time to take aligned action. Take that step. Do the thing that feels right deep within.

    What Does A Small Step Look Like?

    A small step is an action you can take that will serve and support your manifestation journey.

    If you don’t meditate but have been receiving signs and inner nudges to start, then your small step can simply be trying a ten-minute mindfulness meditation today.

    A small step can be purchasing a book, researching a specific topic, creating a spreadsheet, buying a product or course, signing up for a free webinar – anything that feels right to you.

    Note that everything I listed above is a seemingly simple thing. Nothing feels too overwhelming. This is what most of your small steps will look like: gentle nudges that feel clear, loving, and expansive.

    There is a next tier, though: steps that will feel a little bigger than buying a book or signing up for a free webinar.

    Let’s say you want to manifest your soulmate. You’re called to create a dating profile. Maybe you create it, but you don’t even make it active yet. Creating that profile is one single step. Making it active is the next step. Responding to a message may be the next step after that. And then, if it feels right to you, going out on a date with someone you’ve clicked with might be the next step.

    That fourth step of going on a date is a little bigger than creating the initial profile. But when you look at each step from an objective perspective, you can see how aligned action and leaning into divine flow has led you to this moment. Small steps are the foundation that lead you to these bigger, more exciting steps.

    And finally, there is a third tier as well: those big leaps we talked about in the introduction.

    One major reason why a person may shy away from their dreams is because they believe their journey consists of just these really big leaps.

    But it’s the small steps that will make up most of your journey. The big leaps will come less often, and they’re usually a result of all the small steps you’ve taken to get to this place.

    For me, one of my biggest leaps was quitting my full-time corporate job to pursue writing. I didn’t make this leap overnight. I didn’t yet fully trust my inner knowing, and it took a few months before I finally made the jump. In this case, my rational brain helped me out. I found it beneficial to ask, “What’s the worst thing that can happen?” Even if it didn’t work out, I knew I could always get a new job. I also knew that even if it didn’t work out, that didn’t mean I had failed. No matter what, I would learn and grow from the process. 

    During your journey, you’ll take a lot of small steps, some slightly bigger steps, and a few giant leaps.

    What these steps all have in common is that they’ll be a result of aligned action.

    Or, in the simplest terms, they’re going to feel right.

    When you’re vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you’ll be in the mode to receive guidance about these next steps. Your vibration is where it all begins. The more the vibration of peace/love/gratitude/success/abundance/joy/freedom (and anything else that feels good to you) becomes your norm, the easier it will be to receive those intuitive nudges leading you to the next step.

    I want to end with this:

    Sometimes, your next step won’t make sense to anyone but you. Other people will have no idea why it’s so important to you to read that book or sign up for that webinar or research a specific topic that you suddenly can’t stop thinking about.

    And that’s okay.

    It doesn’t matter if they understand.

    What matters is that it feels right to you.

    Who is Christie Marie Sheldon?

    Christie Marie Sheldon is a globally renowned energy healer, intuitive life coach, and author. She’s conducted tens of thousands of private sessions for clients, many of whom are world-renowned authors, celebrities, and business leaders. She’s also led over 200,000 students worldwide through her courses on Mindvalley.

    Christie is one of Mindvalley’s most popular teachers, and I can see why. She has a unique energy about her that makes her seem fun and accessible while also making it clear that she knows what she’s talking about. My brain doesn’t typically respond well to anyone who has a more aggressive/loud teaching style, and she didn’t have that at all. I trusted her guidance and genuinely enjoyed the energy she brought to the course.

    The Set-Up (What To Expect)

    In the Unlimited Abundance course, you’ll be guided through 24 sessions that each focus on a different abundance block that may be holding you back from receiving your true abundance.

    While financial prosperity is the main focus, it’s not solely about your finances. It’s also about releasing old energy to allow an abundance of love, joy, health, passion, creativity, and success into your world.

    You’ll begin by taking an Abundance Block Diagnosis Test, which is an online self-assessment that simulates a one-on-one session with Christie. After you take your test, you’ll get your results, which will tell you which abundance blocks you should focus on first. (After I received my results, I first focused on the abundance blocks that came up for me in my results. Then, I went back and completed all the other sessions.)

    Then, it’s time to begin. You’re empowered to go at your own pace during this course. You can either follow the daily schedule and do one session a day, or you can create your own schedule depending on what works best for you. (For instance, 3 sessions a week.) I mostly did one course a day, taking just a few days off during the holidays.

    My Experience

    Like I said above, after I received my results, I first went through the energy clearing sessions that came up for me in my results. Then, I decided to do all the clearing sessions. I set aside an hour a day to complete the sessions, allowing me to focus fully on the energy clearings without distractions.

    I usually completed the sessions in the mornings, and if a session especially resonated with me, I’d make a note of it and come back to it again later to repeat the clearings. What I really love about the course is that each session comes with a full lesson as well as a shorter energy clearing session. So if you’ve already completed the full lesson, you can come back and repeat just the energy clearings later on.

    An unexpected positive outcome from this course was that I felt like Christie actually empowered me to feel confident in clearing my own energy when needed.

    So, for instance, if I’m running errands and I start having fear-based thoughts or feeling some heaviness inside me, I don’t have to fully rely on the course audio to clear this energy. The more I practice, the more I’m able to do this myself with the tools Christie provides. This alone has been such a profound positive shift for me, and like I said, it was completely unexpected.

    Now that I’ve completed the course, I’m still repeating the energy clearing sessions, focusing especially on the ones that have resonated most with me. My personal favorites were Clearing Lack Of Self Worth and Clearing The Feeling Of Being Stuck. (But you’ll likely find different ones that resonate personally with you.)

    Did It Work?

    Starting the Unlimited Abundance course, I had zero expectations. None. I actually barely even read the course sales page before I decided to just dive right in. I’m one of those people who usually skips reading instruction manuals and instead tries to figure something out on my own. (Seriously. Instructions are my kryptonite.) Usually, that doesn’t work out so well for me.

    But I’m kind of glad I didn’t have any expectations starting the course.

    There was no pressure. No lofty expectations. I just had an open heart and open mind and decided to see what happened.

    In the first few sessions, the biggest shift I noticed was within me. I suddenly felt an urge to become organized. One of my biggest weaknesses (besides not reading instructions) is that I tend to keep ideas and to-dos in my head without ever writing them down. At any given moment, I’ll have a few dozen ideas in my brain for future blog posts, products, website maintenance, Instagram posts, and other tasks I want to complete.

    Around Day 2, I felt a desire to get all of these things out of my head and onto paper.

    So I made a list of all these tasks. Then, I looked at it all and asked myself what I could get done in a day. I crossed a handful of items off the list the first day. Then, I crossed more off the list the second day.

    By the end of the first week, I’d completed both small and big tasks that had been in my head for months.

    And this practice is continuing to this day, where I’m writing weekly lists and continuing to complete more than I ever have before. (But despite the fact that I’m completing more, it doesn’t feel like I’m working harder. I actually feel lighter. My energy feels aligned with each action I take.)

    What surprised me was that Christie actually brought this up in the course. She said it’s a common thing after these energy clearings to feel a need to declutter and get organized. When I heard that, it felt like extra confirmation that the energy clearings were working for me.

    After the inner shifts began, I started to see shifts in my outer world, too.

    Below, I share some of the changes I’ve seen on my website and social media accounts. Believe it or not, this is actually just a fraction of the magic that’s been swirling through my life lately. I’m still trying to comprehend it all, but I want to show you just some of the incredible results I’ve had.

    • Website: I’m currently seeing a 40% increase in my total website viewership over a 28-day period. Forty percent. That’s huge. I’ve blocked out the actual numbers, but you can see the percentage increases in the image below. (The bounce rate going down is a good thing!)

    • Instagram: This is where I’ve seen some of my greatest shifts. Honestly, I’m still not sure how this happened. I took a couple screenshots of my Instagram insights, which you can see below. The first shows the insights on January 2nd, and the second was two weeks later, when I was nearing the completion of the Unlimited Abundance course. Look at the difference between the accounts reached, accounts engaged, and total followers. It’s astounding. Additionally, my writing has been shared on two of my dream accounts: @moonomens and @writers. (You can see those below as well.) For me, this is abundance beyond anything I’ve ever experienced; this is my dreams coming true before my very eyes. I don’t know how to explain any of this, but my heart has been in a constant state of beaming through my chest over the past few weeks.

    • Pinterest: My entire Pinterest account has seen substantial increases over the past month, which you can see from the analytics of my 30-day overview below. Pinterest is an important platform for me to drive traffic to my website, so this has been big. Early on in the course, I received the email below, letting me know that one of my pins was being featured in the Today tab. That was an unexpected but happy surprise!

    • Product Sales: From my personal spreadsheet below, you can see that I actually saw a 24.47% decrease in product sales before I started the course. While I was taking the course, I saw a 118.86% increase in sales. Since this happened around the holidays, I removed any product sales that were labelled as gifts. (All of my products are digital, and customers have the option of buying a digital product and having it sent directly to a gift recipient with a personalized message.) So the percentage below only accounts for sales in which customers bought products for themselves, not as a gift. Additionally, I’m currently on pace to sell more in January than I had in December, which I wasn’t expecting. (February 6th Update: My January sales did end up beating my December sales – by 1%. Since January is historically one of the lowest spending months for retail sales, I’m really grateful for this small increase.)

    Is This Course For You?

    If you’re someone who feels like you’re doing everything “right” yet still aren’t seeing results in your outer world, I definitely believe you could benefit from this course. I’m someone who firmly believes in the power of energy healing, but I had never experienced it to this level before. What I especially liked about this course is that I didn’t have to label or name all of the subconscious blocks that have been part of my energy field. I just had to be open to healing them.

    Truly, I’d recommend this course for anyone who wants to clear the old, stagnant energy holding them back, especially if you feel stuck, fearful, unclear, or that somehow abundance is something that’s for “other people” but not for you.

    However, if you have a hard time buying into energy clearing, this might be a tough one for you. It’s completely okay to be skeptical of these things. I don’t think anyone should feel forced to believe in something that doesn’t feel true and real to them. But if you think your skepticism is too strong to ignore, then you may want to pass on this course. And like I said, that’s completely okay. You’re empowered to find something that aligns with what feels right to you.

    I also want to note again that the courses are all audio; there’s no videos to go with the lessons. I didn’t have any issues with this, but it’s an important factor to note when you’re making your decision on whether this course would be the right fit for you.

    My Tips

    Show Up (Even When You Don’t Want To)

    This is a big one. If you go at your own pace and complete this course by yourself, you have to be self-motivated and self-disciplined. This is especially important because there will be days you don’t want to show up. I had many of these days. In fact, even at the end, I’d often stall pressing the play button and busy myself with random distractions.

    Christie actually says throughout the course that this is totally normal. As she says, this isn’t actually you speaking; it’s your stuff: the heavy, stagnant energy that isn’t ready to be released. And even more, it’s usually the days you don’t want to show up that you need it the most.

    Every single time I didn’t want to show up but showed up anyway, I felt 1000% better after the session was up. Every. Single. Time.

    So show up. You won’t regret it.

    Be Present

    Most sessions are somewhere between 40 to 60 minutes in length. Set aside time when you can be fully present for the sessions. Reduce distractions as much as possible. I promise, this time you set aside for yourself is worth it.

    Repeat Clearing Sessions

    If any of the clearing sessions especially resonate with you, repeat them at least twice. I repeated sessions in which I experienced a noticeable tightness somewhere in my body, as I could feel that I was still holding onto some of the old energy. I also repeated sessions that made me feel really light and good. And now that I’m done with the course, I’m continuing to repeat sessions and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

    This is a powerful tool. Use it as much as it feels good to you.

    While you don’t have to do all the sessions, I found a lot of value in completing them all. The sessions I felt I got the most out of were often the ones I least expected. The time you invest in yourself will come back to you a hundred fold. I can wholeheartedly tell you that it’s worth it.

    Final Thoughts

    Like I said above, I really had no expectations going into this course. So to say that my experiences with this course has exceeded my expectations is an understatement. I still don’t really have the words to adequately express how everything has unfolded for me over the past several weeks.

    Your journey will likely look different from mine. I don’t know how your path will unfold or what kind of energy you’re holding onto right now. I just know that the Unlimited Abundance course is one of the most worthwhile investments I’ve made in myself.

    Internally, I feel lighter and more empowered. Externally, I’m experiencing shifts unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.

Every once in a while, when you’re clearing something, your brain may ask, “Can I really let this go?” Whenever I had that thought, I decided that my answer was yes.     Knowing that, I was able to let go of everything that my conscious mind wanted to hold onto. I knew in my heart that this was for my highest good.

    What Is Manifestation?

    Manifestation is the practice of consciously tuning your energy to the frequency of your desires, thus attracting more experiences into your life that match this energetic frequency.

    So how exactly does this work?

    Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling right now as you read this. What’s the dominant feeling in your body at this moment? Maybe you’re in a state of curiosity and knowledge-seeking. Maybe you’re feeling a little bored. Maybe you’re content and at peace. Or maybe you’re a little stressed or worried about something that’s happening in your outer world.

    Now, imagine that you have a bubble around you. This is your energetic field. That dominant feeling you possess is also the current dominant energetic frequency of this field.

    So if you’re currently feeing content and peaceful, your energetic bubble is vibrating at the frequency of contentment and peace.

    If you’re stressed and worried, then these are the feelings taking up your energetic field.

    You may have heard the phrase, “What you put out, you get back.” This is also the foundational law (The Great Law, or Law of Cause and Effect) for the 12 Laws of Karma: The energy you put out into the world is what comes back to you, whether you’re conscious of it or not.

    This law applies to your energetic field. Let’s say you have a great family and a beautiful home, but no matter how much you have, it’s never enough. If “never enough” (i.e. lack and scarcity) is your dominant vibration, you’ll constantly attract experiences that center around never having enough.

    But if you put out the energy of gratitude and abundance, you attract experiences that bring you even more reasons to feel grateful and abundant.

    So in manifestation, you’re consciously tuning your energetic frequency to match the vibration of what you want to attract.

    If you want to attract romantic love, you can put out the energy of love and connection, before that perfect partner has entered your life. If you want to attract financial prosperity, you can put out the energy of already being wealthy and abundant. By matching your vibration to these good-feeling things, you become a magnet for the very thing you want to show up in your life.

    Manifestation Games

    Abundance Checks

    Abundance checks (or cheques) are blank checks that you can use to aid you in manifesting financial prosperity. You can find free digital abundance checks online, create your own, or use checks from your own checkbook for this practice.

    On your check, you’ll write the amount of money you want to manifest and put your own name on the payee line. You’ll also date it for either today’s date or a date in the future. On the memo line, you can write down what this money is for (i.e. “Dream home”) or why you’re receiving this money (“For being your beautiful, authentic self”).

    Finally, where is this money coming from? Sign the check from the Universe. If you’re using a free digital abundance check, the signature line may already come pre-filled.

    Once your check is filled out, know that your manifestation is done. The money is coming. You can release your worries and align with the positive feelings of having this money right now.

    Here are some ways you can use your abundance check to amplify your manifestations:

    • Store it in your wallet, and each time you see your check in there, feel all the positive emotions of having that amount of money right now.
    • Hang it up on a bulletin board and take some time to look at it each day. Visualize the experience of receiving this amount of money, and tune your energy to the frequency of pure abundance.
    • Place it in a drawer, a lockbox, or somewhere safe. Surrender your desires to the universe, and walk forward in faith and trust.

    Pillow Method For Manifestation

    The directions to follow for the pillow method are fairly simple and straightforward:

    Write an affirmation on a piece of paper and place that paper under your pillow for a set amount of days. Let that affirmation be the last thing you think about as you fall asleep, allowing it to sink into your subconscious brain. Let go, surrender control, and allow the Universe to deliver your manifestation into your physical experience.

    The affirmation you use for this practice is going to be what I call a Future Pacing Affirmation.

    These are affirmations in which you state that what you want to manifest is already yours.

    For instance, if you want to manifest financial prosperity, you might write something like, “Financial abundance continually flows my way through multiple streams of income.” You could also write, “I am financially free with a limitless abundance of wealth and prosperity.”

    • Decide what you want to manifest.
    • Create a powerful future pacing affirmation rooted in your desire. Write this affirmation on a piece of paper.
    • Place the piece of paper under your pillow.
    • Before you fall asleep at night, visualize having your desire in the present moment, feeling all the positive emotions of having what you want to manifest.
    • Continue for 7 to 10 days, or until it feels right to remove it.
    • Let go. Surrender control to the Universe. Trust. Receive.

    55×5 Manifestation Method

    The 55×5 (also written as 5×55 or 555) Manifestation Method is another manifestation game that’s fairly straightforward: it simply requires you to choose an affirmation, then write down that affirmation 55 times in a row for 5 days straight.

    The affirmation you choose is going to be another future pacing affirmation, like the one I described above. Specifically, you’re going to focus on something that you want to manifest soon and phrase this affirmation as if it’s already come true.

    Here are a few examples:

    • I am so happy and grateful for the extra $1,000 I received this week!
    • I’m so grateful the sellers accepted my offer on my dream house!
    • I can’t believe I’m going on my dream vacation to Hawaii!

    So using the first example above, on the first day, you’ll write this sentence 55 times in a row (in one sitting): “I am so happy and grateful for the extra $1,000 I received this week!”

    On day two, you’ll again write that same sentence 55 times in a row in one sitting.

    Days 3, 4, and 5: same thing.

    The key here is to allow yourself to feel all the positive emotions as if your desired manifestation has already true. So if you’re affirming that you received $1,000 this week, vibrate at the frequency of financial prosperity and abundance. See if you can carry this high vibration with you throughout your day.

    369 Method

    The 369 Method is a simple yet effective manifestation game that utilizes the power of journaling, affirmations, and your own powerful vibration.

    To practice this manifestation method, choose an affirmation based on what you want to manifest, then write down this affirmation three times in the morning, six times in the afternoon, and nine times in the evening. The affirmation you use will be another future pacing affirmation.

    Here are a few examples of the types of affirmations you might use:

    • I feel joyful and thankful now that I’m driving my dream car!
    • My heart is filled with gratitude for the 10 new clients I signed this month.
    • I truly appreciate the extra $5,000 I received in my bank account.

    Repeat this exercise for at least 21 days in order to truly maximize your results.

    Again, the key here is to allow yourself to feel the positive feelings of having your desired manifestation in your life right now. So if your affirmation states that you received an extra $5,000 in your bank account this week, then allow yourself to feel the abundant energy of having this money right now. Carry this feeling with you not just when you’re writing your affirmation but throughout your entire day.

    By continuously vibrating at the frequency of your desire for 21 days, this vibration is more likely to become your vibrational set point. You’ll no longer have to strive to feel financially abundant because it’ll be part of your foundational energy.

    Manifesting With Candles

    Candles can be a powerful addition to your manifestation practice, as fire represents power and your inner light. Candles can also create a feeling of calm and inner serenity, allowing you to release negative energy and open yourself up to receiving.

    When you first start incorporating candles into your manifestation practice, it’s best to use a brand new candle specifically chosen for this purpose. You can continue to use this candle for manifesting, but try to keep it as a dedicated manifestation candle.

    Below, you’ll find the steps to follow to incorporate candles into your manifestation ritual. To learn what color of candle you should use depending on what you want to manifest, check out my article on candle colors for manifestation here.

    • Find a quiet, safe spot where you won’t be interrupted. If you have a sacred space or meditation table, this is ideal.
    • Start with a brief meditation to create a feeling of calm within. You can either light your candle before you start meditating or right after.
    • Start visualizing what exactly you want to manifest. See it in your mind’s eye. As you visualize, feel all the positive emotions of having this thing in the present moment.
    • Now, you’re going to set your intention. What do you want to manifest? You might start by saying, “Dear Universe . . .” Be clear about what you want. Remember to express sincere gratitude for all that you have and all that’s on its way to you right now.
    • Then, let it go. You might visualize your intention as a paper lantern or balloon flying higher and higher up into the sky until it disappears. This represents letting go of your desire and trusting the Universe to take care of you.

    Manifesting With Essential Oils

    When used correctly, essential oils can be another powerful addition to your manifesting practice. And the best thing is, you don’t actually have to do a lot of work when you’re using them; the essential oils will do most of the work for you.

    Your main job is to be intentional.

    So whether you’re using them in a diffuser, wearing them topically (when safe), or rubbing a little bit of oil on a dollar bill, make sure you set a clear intention when you’re working with them.

    Here are some of the ways you can incorporate essential oils into fun and easy manifestation games:

    • Dab a drop of oil onto money, photos, letters, or other items associated with your manifestations. If you want to manifest success with your business, you might dab some oil onto a business card. For financial prosperity, you can drop a bit of oil onto a dollar bill and keep it in your wallet. Find a creative way to use your chosen oil with an item you associate with your desired manifestation!
    • If it’s safe to do so, you can wear the manifestation oil on your body daily, or wear it during especially important moments. You can also dab a bit on your jewelry, if you prefer.
    • You can also use essential oils and candles together to amplify your manifesting practice. Before you start the candle ritual I described above, you can rub a bit of manifesting oil at the top of the candle, pulling upward, as you visualize your desires.

    Scripting is a practice that utilizes both journaling and visualization to envision the life you desire. In this practice, you write about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest.

    For instance, let’s say you want to manifest your dream job.

    When you sit down to script, you’d write about your day as if you have your dream job right now, in the present moment. You might write as though you’re looking back on your day, describing all the details of a day on the job. Or you can write as though you’re experiencing it right now in this moment. (i.e. “I walk through the doors of my office and see . . .”)

    The key here is to write as if you’re already living your dreams and desires right now in this present moment. You’ve made it. You have everything you can dream of and more. There is no more waiting; it’s all here for you, and all you have to do is reach out and grab it.

    New Moon Rituals

    The new moon offers a beautiful opportunity for a cosmic reset. This is a perfect time to check in with yourself, connect to your authentic desires, and set intentions for your life goals and vision.

    This is also a time for cleansing any old, stagnant energy that’s been building up within and releasing all that no longer serves you to make space for new beginnings.

    You can incorporate any of the manifestation games above into your new moon ritual to amplify your intentions. Additionally, here are a few of my favorite new moon rituals for manifestation:

    • Plant Seeds of Intention: Pick 3 things you want to manifest over this next moon cycle. Imagine that each intention is a seed that you’re going to plant into your life garden. Take the first seed and envision yourself gently planting it in the earth in front of you. See your intention manifesting in your reality, and feel the positive emotions associated with this dream coming true. Do the same for the second and third seeds. You can visualize this practice in meditation, or if you’d like, you can actually plant three physical seeds in your outdoor garden or indoor potted plants.
    • Write a New Moon List: Take some time to connect with your inner self and write lists of everything you want to manifest in the next month, everything you’re releasing, what you’re grateful for, the primary feelings you want to embody (joy, gratitude, etc.), and any other positive changes you want to make over the next month.
    • Take a Detox Bath: A detox bath allows you to detox your total self: mind, body, and soul. This bath is meant for spiritual and energetic cleansing. During this time, put away your phone or any other distractions. Focus solely on your own inner tranquility. Sink into relaxation and self-care. By embracing your inner peace, you release stagnant energy within and make space for new energy to come forth. Use essential oils, crystals, epsom salt, candles, and anything else that supports your mind, body, and soul.

    What Are Abundance Checks?

    Abundance checks (or cheques) are blank checks that you can use to aid you in manifesting financial prosperity. Usually, these will be digital checks like the free ones you can download at the bottom of this article. If you prefer, you can use your own checkbook or create your own checks, either digital or handwritten.

    On your abundance check, you’ll write your name on the “Pay to the Order of” line. Then, you’ll write down the amount of money you’re going to manifest on the “Amount” line. (I’ll go into more detail on how to fill out these checks below.)

    Abundance checks can be powerful tools for supporting your manifestations and helping you to align with the energy of pure, limitless abundance. They’re also a great way to set intentions and decide what exactly you want to manifest in your reality.

    Do Abundance Checks Work?

    In a word: yes.

    The most famous example of an abundance check manifesting in real life is the story of how Jim Carrey wrote himself a check for ten million dollars when he was still a broke, largely unknown actor. He gave himself three years to receive this money, dating it for Thanksgiving 1995.

    So what happened?

    As he told Oprah Winfrey, just before Thanksgiving 1995, he found out he was going to make ten million dollars for his role in Dumb and Dumber.

    So what’s the secret?

    As Jim Carrey himself told Oprah, you can’t just visualize something and then do nothing. He worked hard. He believed in himself. He continually visualized his dreams manifesting in his reality.

    And that’s what it comes down to.

    Are you willing to open your mind and believe in your own innate ability to manifest the life you desire? Can you choose to consistently vibrate at the frequency of abundance rather than scarcity? Do you believe that the universe wants to support you in your manifestations?

    Abundance checks work to the degree you’re willing to believe that they work. But don’t just believe in the check itself. Believe in yourself. Believe in this infinite universe. Believe that you are absolutely worthy of pure, limitless abundance. (Because you are always, always worthy.)

    How To Fill Out Your Abundance Check

    • First, decide what date you want to put at the top of the check. The date you write here is completely up to you. You can choose a date in the future (either a random date or one that holds special meaning to you) or write today’s date on your check. You can also write a word such as Today or Now. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the exact amount will show up today. Rather, it means you have faith that it’s all aligning for you and in the process of manifesting.
    • Choose the dollar amount you want to write on the check. Pick a number that feels really good to you! Some people recommend choosing a number that seems reasonable to your conscious mind (basically, something that you feel confident in manifesting). I think the most important thing is to pick a number that excites you and feels really positive. Write the number on the “Amount” line and in the box on the right-hand side of the check.
    • Fill out the “Memo” field. You can approach this two ways. The first method is to fill out the memo field as the reason why the Universe is giving you this money. You’ll see this in the first example below: “For being your authentic self and sharing your gifts with the world.” The second method is to fill in what the money is going to be used for. So if you want to manifest five thousand dollars for a vacation, you might write “Dream vacation” in the memo field.

    Here are two examples showing how the abundance check might be filled out:

    How To Use Your Abundance Check

    So once you have your abundance check, what do you do with it?

    Again, this is all about your personal preference. Some people like to look at their checks every day, while others prefer to store it somewhere safe where it isn’t always in front of them.

    Personally, I like to keep my checks in my wallet, as this practice feels really positive and powerful for me.

    However, if seeing your check every day gives you anxiety (or causes you to obsessively wonder when your manifestation is going to come), it might be better to store it somewhere you won’t constantly be looking at it.

    An important aspect of manifesting is being able to let go and surrender your manifestations to the universe, not worrying about when your manifestation is going to arrive. So if you find yourself in worry mode, just place your abundance check somewhere safe, preferably somewhere that has good energy. You can even put a piece of citrine, pyrite, or another powerful gemstone with it to amplify the energy of the check.

    Here are some ways you might use your abundance check:

    • Store it in your wallet, and each time you see your check in there, feel all the positive emotions of having that amount of money right now.
    • Hang it up on a bulletin board and take some time to look at it each day. Visualize the experience of receiving this amount of money, and tune your energy to the frequency of pure abundance.
    • Place it in a drawer, a lockbox, or somewhere safe. Surrender your desires to the universe, and walk forward in faith and trust.

    Tips & Tricks For Making Your Abundance Check Work

    • My favorite trick to amplify the power of an abundance check is to add a bit of manifesting oil to the check after I’ve written it. Manifesting oils are blends of essential oils and herbs formulated to aid you in manifesting your desires. You can learn more about different types of manifesting oils and how to use them here.
    • Another one of my favorite ways to use an abundance check is in conjunction with the pillow method for manifestation. Place your check under your pillow for 7 to 10 days. Each night before you fall asleep, visualize receiving this money, allowing the positive energy of this beautiful abundance to flow through you.
    • An important aspect of manifestation is following your intuition. Sometimes, your intuition will guide you to follow a certain path, take a certain action, or do something that you wouldn’t normally do. When you feel these inner nudges, trust them! That just may be the universe guiding you to the exact amount of money you’ve asked for. You can read my complete guide to tapping into your intuition here.
    • And make sure that after your intuition speaks to you, you take inspired action!
    • And finally, as with all manifestation practices, make sure you’re regularly checking in with yourself. What vibrations are you currently emitting? Are you vibrating at the frequency of abundance? Regularly practice allowing pure, abundant energy to flow through you. Visualization is a powerful tool to help you with this.     Planting Your Seeds Of Intention

    I often compare manifestation to planting a garden.

    It starts with the soil you’re growing your plants (or manifestations) in.

    This soil is your mindset. In order to manifest your dreams and desires, you first must cultivate a positive mindset. And by positive mindset, I don’t mean only ever having happy thoughts and emotions. You are absolutely allowed to experience lower, heavier emotions from time-to-time.

    You’re allowed to be imperfect. You’re allowed to have bad days.

    Frankly, you’re allowed to be human.

    What I mean by positive mindset is this:

    • You believe in yourself, and you believe in your own innate power to create the life you desire.
    • You show yourself unconditional self-love and self-compassion.
    • You’re willing to view obstacles and challenges as opportunities for growth. (And you’re also willing to see how a roadblock might actually lead you to a better path.)
    • You consistently show up for yourself.
    • You’re willing to choose courage over fear.
    • You have a picture of your higher self and consistently align with this truest, deepest part of you day-after-day.
    • And even when life isn’t perfect, you choose to view the world through a lens of gratitude and appreciation.

    All of these components are like the nutrients in the soil that acts as the foundation for your beautiful garden. The more nutrients you have, the more your garden will thrive.

    Once you’ve created this rich, nutrient-filled soil, it’s time to plant your seeds.

    And in manifestation, these seeds are your dreams, goals, and intentions.

    In this article, we’re going to talk all about how to set an intention for manifestation. We’ll go in-depth on goals versus intentions, how to set goals and intentions, how to communicate your goals to the universe, and the importance of surrendering your goals and releasing control of how they show up for you.

    Setting Goals Versus Setting Intentions

    First, let’s discuss what it means to set a goal versus setting an intention. Often, you’ll see the words intention and goal used interchangeably, and that’s completely fine. However, there can be slight differences to how we perceive these words. 

    • A goal is the static, end result of your manifestations; it’s the thing you want to manifest in your reality. 
    • An intention, on the other hand, is how you want to be as you work towards your goals. For instance, if you want to manifest financial prosperity, you might set the intention to be the embodiment of abundance in your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

    Here are a few more examples to help you differentiate goals from intentions. In the left-hand column, you’ll find a goal that someone might set for themselves. On the right-hand column, you’ll find a corresponding intention to support that goal.

    To get accepted into a specific university or program.To embody the feelings of success and achievement in your daily life.
    To write a successful children’s book.To align with the flow of creativity and inspiration within.
    To lose or gain a certain amount of weight.To see yourself as capable, powerful, and strong.
    To go on a great first date (that will lead to a second).To be the embodiment of pure love and joy throughout your day.

    In manifestation, it’s important to set both goals and intentions to support your journey. Your goals are your ultimate desired outcome. What do you want to manifest? What do you ultimately hope to receive? What’s the long-term vision you have for your life?

    Write down these goals you have for yourself so that they don’t just exist in your head. This is important, as writing down your goals will help to turn them from an abstract idea in your mind to a concrete, achievable thing you can have and experience. (Vision boards help, too!)

    Now, think of some intentions you can set that will support your goals. You might write down some new intentions for each month, week, or even day.

    For example, if you want to manifest a raise at work, then you might set the intention to vibrate at the frequency of financial prosperity. Write down this intention and come back to it regularly. This will help you to remain aligned with your overall goal throughout your daily life as well as support your long-term manifestations.

    Guidelines For Setting Goals

    Before we go deeper into the importance of intentions, let’s talk about your goals. The first step in articulating what you want to manifest is to define your life vision.

    What’s your ideal future? Where do you see yourself in five, ten, and even twenty years? What dreams are most prominent within you?

    Be honest about your goals. They should never be based on what someone else wants for you. Your goals, dreams, and visions should always align with your authentic truths and desires

    Manifestation may seem hard from the outside, but half the battle is setting goals that feel right to you. Because once you set a goal that aligns with your truest desires (and that feels really good to you), you’re in alignment with the Universe. It becomes easier to trust the flow of your life’s path. And even more, the Universe will do everything possible to support you. (Though you may not always see it right away.)

    The difficult thing for many people is that this also means you can’t force something that doesn’t truly feel right.

    Have you ever tried to force a relationship, even though deep within, you knew something was off? You may be able to keep it up for a while, but it isn’t sustainable.

    And even more, when you do this, you’re actually holding yourself back.

    Because the truth is, when you stop forcing and instead align with what feels good and right to you (i.e. get in a flow state), you open yourself up to receiving things that are much better than what you’re trying to force.

    Setting goals that feel sincere, heartfelt, and unforced is key to a successful (and happy) manifestation. When you try to set a goal that feels forced or insincere, you’ll most often meet one of two outcomes:

    • Your manifestation doesn’t work, causing you to feel like either you failed or that manifestation in general doesn’t actually work. The reason it hasn’t worked is because there’s an underlying desperation to your desire. Instead of surrendering and allowing something to happen, you’re trying to force something to happen on your timeline.
    • Your manifestation does work, and you get what you want. But it turns out, it’s not as great as you had imagined.

    So how do you start with setting goals? First, we’ll talk about a few guidelines for goal setting, and then we’ll talk about how you can communicate these goals and dreams to the Universe.

    Be Specific (But Leave Room For Possibilities)

    When you set a goal, you want to be specific.

    For instance, if you want to manifest love, think about the specific qualities you want in a partner. Are you looking for someone to travel the world with, or would you prefer to find someone who will plant roots with you somewhere?

    Also think about the duration of your desired relationship. Are you looking for someone you can have fun with but aren’t sure you’re ready for lifetime commitment yet? Or are you looking for a lasting, forever kind of love?

    Finally, describe the qualities you desire most in a partner: non-negotiables like humor, faithfulness, and generosity.

    So essentially, have a clear vision of what you want and define the most important aspects of this vision.

    But keep in mind, there is a line between having a clear vision and being a bit too specific.

    Specify the qualities that are most important to you, but leave some room for the unexpected. Using the same example as above, you might not want to specify the exact hair and eye color of your future partner. And maybe they don’t have to work in a specific career field. When you leave room for the unexpected, you’ll often be surprised with an outcome even better than what you had imagined.

    Don’t Focus On The “How”

    This is actually one of the biggest blockages to manifestation, and it’s often something we don’t even realize we’re doing.

    Often, when we set goals, we imagine exactly how this dream scenario will play out. There’s nothing wrong with this; it’s fun to visualize! The problem is when you limit yourself to just this one possible path.

    When you’re setting intentions, don’t worry about how this desired person, thing, or experience will come to you. Focus simply on the end result. 

    Here are a couple examples of how you don’t want to set intentions:

    • “I want to manifest one million dollars by winning the lottery.” (What if that money could actually come to you in a way that’s easier, more meaningful, and brings you more joy than winning the lottery?)
    • “I want to manifest my soulmate in a meet-cute at the coffee shop.” (What if you never cross paths with that perfect person at the coffee shop, but they’re just a click away on the dating app you keep hearing about?)

    Set Small And Big Goals

    When you think about your dreams, you’re most likely thinking about the really big things. But don’t forget to set some smaller goals as well. (These “smaller” goals may even be steps leading you to that really big thing you want.) 

    One powerful practice I like to use in my personal daily routine is write down one small thing I want to manifest that day.

    For instance, I might decide I’m going to manifest a really great conversation with someone or an unexpected moment of laughter and joy.

    This is a great way to build your confidence in your manifesting power! You might think of these as “mini manifestation goals” that help you grow your confidence in manifesting the bigger things.

    How To Set Goals For Manifestation

    So now that we’ve articulated some guidelines for setting goals, let’s talk about how you can start setting goals and deciding what exactly you want to manifest. Again, it’s important to write down your individual goals, as you want to transform these abstract ideas in your mind into concrete, achievable things that you can manifest.

    • First, connect with your authentic dreams and desires. Is there a certain dream that’s been in your heart for several years? Has a new dream begun to enter your vision? What excites you? What ignites that inner spark? What do you truly desire for your life? It might help you to first step back and simply visualize what your ideal life would look like. Paint a picture in your head, or write about it in your journal.
    • Articulate these dreams and long-term visions for your future into clear, specific goals. Write down these goals. You might also create a vision board that includes words and images that embody what your ideal life looks and feels like.
    • When you’re first setting goals, don’t worry about what the path ahead might look like. Allow yourself to focus solely on the end result of what exactly you want to manifest. Instead of worrying about controlling your path, focus on setting daily intentions to support your journey. (More on that below!)

    How To Set An Intention For Manifestation

    One of the most profound practices you can do throughout your daily life to support your manifestations is to set daily intentions.

    Setting an intention will help you to continually remain aligned with your dreams and desires, no matter what’s going on in your outer world. Even if something happens that causes you to become misaligned, you can keep returning back to your intention and realign with the thoughts, feelings, and overall frequency of your desired manifestation.

    For instance, if your goal is to write a bestselling novel, then your daily intention might be to connect with your inner creativity and embody the feelings of success throughout your day. You can choose a different intention daily, weekly, or monthly.

    Your intentions will be based on feelings and what you want to prioritize each day. You might set an intention to feel abundant, successful, peaceful, happy, or free. You might also set an intention to prioritize your creativity or make space for more play in your daily life. Whatever your intention is, let it be something that feels good and is aligned with your overall goals.

    Here are some tips for setting an intention for manifestation:

    • Have a dedicated notebook or journal (or a page in your bullet journal) for daily, weekly, and/or monthly intentions. Write down your intention and take a moment each morning to align with the thoughts and feelings associated with this intention.
    • Even if you have multiple goals, try to set only one intention a day. Setting too many daily intentions can get overwhelming and cause you to lose focus. (And it’s entirely possible that a single intention, such as embodying the feelings of abundance, will support multiple goals you have.)
    • It can be easy to lose sight of your intentions throughout your day, especially if your job and other daily tasks can be stressful. To help, create some phone notifications to go off throughout the day to help you realign with your intention. You can also place post-it notes in places where you’ll easily see them throughout the day.
    • And if you do become misaligned with your intention? That’s okay! The worst thing you can do is criticize or judge yourself. Instead, simply acknowledge it and allow yourself to realign, over and over again if needed. You don’t have to be perfect here. Some days are harder than others, and that’s completely normal. The important thing is that you consistently show up for yourself and do the best you can.

    How To Communicate Your Goals To The Universe

    Once you’ve gotten clear on what it is you want to manifest, it’s time to communicate your vision to the Universe.

    So how exactly do you do this?

    This is a question I get a lot, and I think it’s a practice we often overly complicate.

    The truth is, the Universe is already well aware of your dreams and desires. In fact, the Universe knew of this deep-rooted desire when it was only a brief hint of a vision in your mind, before you had ever articulated it into words. 

    However, having a formal practice for communicating your intentions to the Universe is a powerful way of saying, “I’m ready.” The Universe has been patiently waiting for you to align with your inner truth and power. This is your moment to convey to the Universe that you’re ready to be guided forward. 

    Before I discuss some of the methods of communicating your intentions to the Universe, I want to add this: this is more than just communication. It’s also about surrendering – or handing over – your plans to the Universe.

    It’s about saying, “Here’s what I want. I trust your path for me. Even if it doesn’t come to me exactly the way I envision it, I know it’ll be even better. I release my dreams to you in faith, trust, and love.”

    Find a practice for releasing your vision to the Universe that feels good to you. Some people do better with visualization practices, while others prefer to write a letter to the Universe. One method isn’t better than the other; it all comes down to your personal preference and what feels best for you. 

    Methods For Communicating Your Goals And Intentions

    • In meditation, visualize your dreams and desires in detail. You might visualize what a perfect day would look like once you have your deepest desires. Allow yourself to feel all the positive feelings of having what you want in this present moment. Once you’re finished with your visualization, imagine that you’re placing this dream in a balloon or paper lantern. Visualize your dream rising higher and higher into the sky until you can no longer see it. Now, it’s in the Universe’s hands. Trust that everything is working out exactly as it’s meant to.
    • You can do this same practice in written form, if you prefer. Script a day in your dream life. At the end of your script, let the Universe know you’re prepared for all of your deepest dreams and desires. Thank the Universe for gently guiding you. 
    • You might also write down your dreams in list form. Some people like to burn their lists as a symbolic way of saying they don’t have to hold on tightly to their dreams because they know the Universe is taking care of them in perfect timing.
    • Sometimes, the best way to communicate is to simply talk to the Universe. Tell the Universe what you want. Communicate your intentions. Surrender your desires, let go, and walk forward in faith and trust. If you prefer, you can do this in letter form.

    Why You Must Surrender Your Goals & Dreams

    Again, I want to make this clear: communicating to the Universe is more than just stating what you want. It’s also about surrender. This is a profound moment because it shows that you’re willing to let go and trust your path.

    It’s important to remember that you are a co-creator. This means that you’re working with the Universe to create the best possible future, for the highest good for all. There’s give and take in co-creation: 

    • You let the Universe know what it is that you want (and that you’re prepared to receive it)
    • The Universe sends you little nudges and messages through your intuition to guide you on your path. (And the Universe is also working behind the scenes to help you out, though you may never see all the things that are happening for you in this very moment.)
    • The Universe presents you with experiences and opportunities that are (most often) even better than you can imagine. 

    So as you communicate your intentions to the Universe, honor this sacred role as a co-creator.

    You’re not simply telling the Universe what you want.

    You’re letting the Universe know you’re ready to lean into the divine flow of life, to allow universal energy to move through you, and to trust the path ahead, even though you can’t yet see every step.

    And finally, your vibration is key in your daily communications with the Universe.

    By vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you’re continually communicating that you are ready to receive more of this positive thing.

    Additionally, being in this vibration will allow you to hear the Universe communicate back to you, usually through your own intuition (as well as signs and synchronicities that appear in your outer world).

    Conversely, being in a vibration of stress, anger, worry, or fear (or otherwise low vibration) will prevent you from receiving this communication.

    This is why meditation can be such a powerful addition to your daily routine, as it allows you to quiet all of the outer noise so you can hear what the Universe is trying to tell you.

    So as you step forward in your manifestation journey and set goals and intentions to support your dreams, begin asking yourself this daily:

    Is my vibration communicating that I’m in alignment with my deepest desires, and am I in the vibration to hear when the Universe is communicating back to me?

    Can Obstacles Be A Positive Sign In Manifestation?

    For most of us, it isn’t very common to walk into a situation wanting to face an obstacle on our path to getting what we want. Even if you’re able to see how an obstacle or challenge might serve your highest good, you likely don’t look forward to them.

    And in manifestation, these experiences can be especially difficult. When you face a roadblock preventing you from getting what you want, it’s common to believe that this means your manifestation isn’t working.

    But what if it was the exact opposite?

    What if encountering an obstacle in your manifestation journey is actually a really, really good sign from the universe?

    What if this means your manifestation is actually closer than you can imagine?

    This is the truth when it comes to encountering obstacles and challenges in manifestation:

    As you continue on your path, you will face obstacles. You will have difficult moments. You will encounter roadblocks that seem to prevent you from moving forward on your journey.

    But these moments aren’t something to fear; they’re something to lean into.

    Because in time, you’ll come to realize that these experiences aren’t really obstacles at all. In fact, they’re usually the very opposite:

    They’re opportunities to gain a new perspective and open your eyes to the unseen possibilities all around you. A chance to receive your manifestation even faster. Promises of something more that you had never even imagined for yourself.

    And more than anything, they’re often actually signs that your manifestation is close. Closer than you can even imagine. Closer than you even thought possible, if you only choose to step forward in faith instead of sinking back in frustration.

    So let’s get some clarity on common obstacles you’ll likely experience at some point in your manifestation journey, why you shouldn’t fear them, and how to react when you experience a roadblock or challenge that seems to prevent you from getting what you want.

    Common Signs Your Manifestation Is Close

    So why shouldn’t you fear obstacles on your path? Why, in fact, should you greet these experiences with an open mind and an open heart?

    Because often, these challenges you face are actually signs that your manifestation is close.

    So let’s identify the different types of obstacles you may face and how to respond to them. I’ll tell you now: if you can learn to respond to challenges with a positive mindset (i.e. respond to a potentially difficult situation with a high vibration), your life will expand in ways you never dreamed possible. This is exactly the thing that makes someone a master manifestor: finding obstacles in opportunities, growth in challenges, and gratitude in hardships – and trusting your path, no matter what challenges arise.

    Common Obstacle: Losing Something

    I once worked with someone who wanted to manifest financial prosperity. Specifically, she was hoping she’d get a raise in the job she’d been in for over five years. However, not long after she started her manifestation journey, she lost her job (through no fault of her own). Initially, she was distraught. This felt like the very opposite of the life she was trying to build.

    But you know what?

    Not long after, she unexpectedly received a job offer from someone she knew from her church. This person reached out to her because they thought she’d be a perfect fit for an open position in their company. Not only did she start making more money than even a raise at her old job would’ve given her, but her new job brought her more fulfillment in the first week than the old job ever had. 

    This is the miracle of manifestation. Sometimes, when it feels like we’ve lost something, the Universe is actually clearing space for something new to show up. Our path may not look exactly like we thought it would, but if we allow it to unfold naturally, it may just turn out even better.

    Common Obstacle: Your Past Shows Up Again

    This is a big one, and it’s important to not run away if this happens but rather lean in. If your past shows up again (through a repeated experience, an encounter with someone you have history with, or maybe even suppressed memories that have made their way back to the surface), it’s likely because you’re at a place in your life where you can now let this thing go. You’ve been suppressing old energy within; now, you have the chance to set yourself free.

    For instance, if an ex-partner shows up in your life, it isn’t necessarily because you’re supposed to reunite with them. You may still be clinging onto old energy from that relationship. Maybe you haven’t quite forgiven them for something. Or it’s possible you haven’t forgiven yourself.

    If the past shows up in your manifestation journey, view this as an opportunity to free yourself from the chains holding you back. Let go so you can move forward.

    Common Obstacle: Fear

    One of the first obstacles I encountered was a deep fear of my own intuitive guidance. You see, I knew that to manifest the life I desired, I had to make a change. My intuition was telling me it was time to quit my full-time corporate job to dedicate myself entirely to my website and freelance writing career. But I was terrified of making this leap.

    This is a common experience for many of us. You may receive inner nudges to do something that you’re not sure you can do. You may experience worry, anxiety, and fear. But still, every cell of your being will tell you that this is the right move to make.

    I resisted my intuition for several months before it finally grew so loud, it could no longer be ignored. But as you can probably imagine by now – it all worked out even better than I ever dreamed. This is one of those challenges that only gets better by leaning in and doing the hard thing. Once you do this a couple times, you won’t be as scared of your intuitive guidance, because you’ll have your past experiences to help you make the leap. Once you see that nothing bad happens when you follow your intuition, it gets easier. 

    If this is the first time you’re using your intuition to make a big life change, it’s okay to use your rational mind to assist you. I always like to ask, “What’s the worst that can happen?” I’ll write a list of worst-case scenarios and gauge whether they’re really that bad. Usually, they’re not. For instance, with my website, I knew that if it didn’t work out, I could always get a full-time job again. And I realized I’d rather have the courage to try and fail than to never try at all.

    Common Obstacle: Small Hiccups

    For the first few months after I started publishing articles on my website, most of my traffic came from Pinterest. After consistently pinning my affirmations, journal prompts, chakra resources, and other content to Pinterest, I was starting to see my audience grow. It felt exciting to see my words make their way around the world. It quickly became my favorite social media platform.

    But one day, I got an email that made my heart sink straight into my stomach: my account had been suspended due to suspected spam.

    I immediately tried to log in but couldn’t. I was locked out.

    And let me tell you: I was devastated.

    To make it worse, it happened late on a Friday right before a holiday weekend, so even though I submitted an appeal, I wouldn’t hear back for several days. 

    The next week, my account was reinstated, and they sent me an email apologizing for the mistake. But during those 72+ hours I was waiting, I was tempted to call it quits. It felt like I was doing so much and getting nothing back in return. And in a lot of ways, I felt like the Universe was against me.

    What I’ve learned is that these types of challenges usually occur right before something really good is going to happen. They can also be really positive opportunities to pause, reset, and look within.

    For me, this Pinterest obstacle was an opportunity to step back and reassess what I wanted in life. Did I still believe I was on the right path? Was I aligning with my higher self and following my inner guidance system? Could this be a chance to strengthen my mindset and help me to lean into faith even more?

    I decided that I still had faith in my path, and as I moved forward, my website traffic suddenly started to increase faster than I ever dreamed possible.

    This wasn’t the only hiccup I faced in my journey. Less than two months after I had quit my full-time job, when I wasn’t yet fully confident in my ability to manifest money, my trusty car and my barely-a-year-old laptop broke down in the same week. (I’m pretty sure it was during Mercury Retrograde.)

    These types of things will happen, and I don’t want you to be afraid of these experiences. Every time it does, take it as an opportunity to go within. Align with your higher self. Make sure the path you’re on still feels right to you. If so, continue to move forward. It even helps to thank the Universe for these experiences, knowing they’re never here to harm you but rather to support you in some way you may not yet fully see.

    And remember that most of the time, when you walk through these small hiccups with faith and trust, you’ll discover that your manifestation is closer than you ever imagined.

    Common Obstacle: Someone Else Gets What You Want

    I almost laugh as as I write this because this is another experience I encountered very early on in my manifestation journey. And for most of us, it doesn’t happen just once. For instance, let’s say you want to manifest your soulmate. Suddenly, all the other single people in your life are in relationships. Wedding invitations start piling up. Everywhere you look, you see happy couples in love. Everyone you know has found their soulmate.

    Everyone except you.

    Here’s what I want you to remember:

    • There is an infinite amount of abundance in this world. What someone else has or achieves can never take away from your ability to receive your dreams (and vice versa). So just because everyone else is in a loving relationship, that doesn’t take away from your ability to have a loving relationship of your own. 
    • In this moment, and in all moments, you are exactly where you are meant to be. Your manifestation is coming. Have faith.
    • When you see someone else get what you want, your first instinct might be to feel bad. Let’s change this. Start celebrating every time you see someone else get what you want. View this as a loving wink from the Universe that your manifestations are on their way.

    This is one of my favorite quotes from Gabby Bernstein’s Super Attractor, and it’s especially relevant here: “I believe that the more you see others who have what you want, the closer you are to getting it. Choose to see the people who have what you want as a reflection of what’s to come. See them as gentle winks from the Universe revealing the future to you.”

    Common Obstacle: Lack Of Faith

    This usually comes as a result of another obstacle or challenge you’ve faced, though sometimes, it may seem to come out of nowhere. Everything will seem to be going smoothly, and then one day, you’ll wonder if you’re crazy for believing you can actually manifest your dream life. Is this for real? What if everyone else has the power to manifest except me? What if this isn’t real in the first place? What if I’m insane for believing this is possible?

    If you have these thoughts, it’s okay. First and foremost, don’t be hard on yourself. You’re in the midst of a major mindset shift, and it’s only natural to have questioning thoughts. The key here is not to suppress these thoughts. If you suppress your worries and fears, they just get trapped within you as old, stagnant energy. This creates even more fear, stress, and worry.

    So allow the thoughts to come without judgment. It may help to step back and remind yourself of all the miracles you’ve received. Remember how far you’ve come and how much you’ve manifested so far. Go online and read positive stories about people who have manifested really amazing things. Feel the same excitement you would as if those amazing things were happening to you.

    And know this: you’re not crazy, and you do have the power to manifest your dream life.

    How To Respond To Obstacles

    What Would My Higher Self Do?

    Ask yourself this question daily, in all experiences you encounter. How would your higher self respond to this obstacle? With grace or with fear? With confidence or with frustration? See if you can embody your higher self. Remember that your highest self isn’t someone you become; it’s who you already are without worries, fears, and external experiences clouding your vision. So if you can take away your worries and fears in this moment, how would you respond?

    How Is This Experience Serving Me?

    This can be a hard question to ask right away. When my car and laptop broke down in the same week, I definitely didn’t immediately look for the ways that experience could be serving me. But if you can train your brain to start looking for growth opportunities in your challenges, it will be easier to find them.

    Where Can I Find Gratitude In This Moment?

    Finding gratitude in your hardships isn’t about suppressing your frustration; it’s about acknowledging that even though things feel difficult right now, there’s still so much to be grateful for. Gratitude and love are the highest vibrations, and leaning into these feelings are instant vibration raisers. If you can start viewing your obstacles with gratitude, you will truly begin manifesting an extraordinary life.

    Remind Yourself That Your Manifestations Are Already Done

    The second you released your intention into the universe, it was done. This challenge can’t block you from receiving unless you give it the power to block you. I’ve come to learn that often, when a challenge arises, it isn’t here to prevent me from having my desires. Rather, it’s opening my eyes to a new path that may get me there even quicker (and have more fun along the way). So always ask yourself if this challenge is actually opening up another path for you.

    Break The Cycle

    You will receive the same lessons over and over again until you finally learn them. Show the Universe your growth. Show that you’re ready to respond differently this time. Instead of leaning into fear, lean into courage. Instead of leaning into worry, lean into faith. Instead of responding with frustration, respond with gratitude.

    The Gift of Hardship

    I want to really drive this point home because it’s so incredibly important when it comes to manifestation:

    Hardships, challenges, roadblocks, and obstacles on your path aren’t something to fear.

    In fact, in many ways, these experiences are a gift.

    A couple years ago, when I was experiencing what felt like a surplus of different obstacles, I went into my office, closed the door, sat down, closed my eyes, and started to meditate. I don’t really remember how the entire meditation went; I’m sure I had lots of thoughts and emotions happening inside me. But when I stood up, I walked to my whiteboard and wrote this in the bottom-right corner: “The struggle is the gift.”

    Several years later, those words are still there.

    A big part of the reason why I’m grateful for the challenges I’ve faced is because I can share my stories. I realized early on when I started blogging that if I hadn’t had these experiences, I’d never be able to show my readers what was possible. I wouldn’t be able to inspire anyone. To provide a small source of hope. To give you even a tiny hint of comfort, knowing that my storms all passed, and yours will, too.

    The Law of Polarity states that everything has an opposite, and the existence of these opposites is vital in helping us to gain a deeper perspective of our own lives.

    Part of this is understanding that hardship and even failure is vital in truly being able to celebrate and feel gratitude for our successes. I have experienced fun, almost instant manifestations as well as deeper, more profound manifestations that came after a long journey filled with challenges, hard days, and having to continually lean into faith and my heart’s wisdom.

    Both are amazing experiences, but the ones that came as a result of continually leaning into faith and love and choosing courage over fear – those always feel more meaningful. Those are the ones I’m most proud of. Those are the ones I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

    As the Law of Polarity states, experiencing hardship will help you to love the successes a little more. Contrast is a beautiful thing. You don’t need to fear it. When you get to the other side, you are going to be so proud of the faith and courage and love you showed in all of these moments.

    I want to end here by telling you about my favorite way to view the Law of Polarity. And this is through the symbolism of darkness and light.

    Symbolically, light is often used to represent a universal good, while darkness is used to represent a universal bad.

    But “good” and “bad” are just labels we bestow upon ideas and things; there is no moral good or bad when it comes to darkness and light.

    And darkness has value and purpose, just as the light does.

    Darkness is beneficial for the health of the planet as well as our own biological health. (And I like to think that some darkness is good for the soul, too.)

    But it’s not just the darkness of the night that has its benefits. We all carry shadows within us, and often, we try to suppress these shadows or pretend they don’t exist. But if you look deeper, you’ll see that your shadows are kind of beautiful, too. Your grief, sadness, pain, and even the moments you get angry at the Universe are all evidence of a life fully lived. I think my inner shadows and darkness are often my greatest teacher. When I step into my darkness, I uncover my innermost thoughts and feelings; this, in turn, helps me to grow and transform.

    When you really dig into the Law of Polarity, you see that often, it isn’t a situation of one side of the coin being “good” while the other is “bad.” Rather, both sides have meaningful value to offer the world.

    So view your challenges not as the opposites of your successes; one isn’t morally superior to the other. Instead, discover the meaningful value both of these experiences can offer you.

    Remember this: the struggle is the gift.

    Your Highest Self

    Take a moment to pause. Breathe deeply. Ground yourself in this present moment. 

    Now ask yourself: who am I?  

    Start to paint a picture of yourself in your mind’s eye. See yourself, exactly as you are in this moment right now. 

    Now, slowly begin to shed the layers of anything you’re carrying that doesn’t actually belong to you.

    Remove your fears. Remove the daily stress and worries you carry. Remove the pain you’ve suffered as a result of external experiences. Remove everything that’s weighed you down, kept you small, and made you believe that you’re somehow lesser than you truly are.

    The person you see when you remove the layers of pain, shame, stress, fear, worry, distrust, and suffering is your highest, most authentic self.

    Who Is Your Higher Self?

    Hold this vision of your higher self in your mind’s eye for a little longer. See this version of you stepping into your daily life. How does your higher self look? How do they talk to other people? How do they interact with the world? Do they choose faith over fear? Do they believe they are worthy and deserving of manifesting their dreams? Do they offer love willingly? And do they receive love with an open heart?

    Your higher self is your essential self. At the core of your essential self is the following:

    • The essential self is untouched by external circumstances. No matter what happens around you, this deepest part of you is unchanged because it is the very essence of who you are.
    • This part of you exists beyond your body and physical appearance.
    • This deepest part of you is what you might refer to as your soul. It is eternal, measureless, and infinite.
    • Nothing outside of yourself can shake or disrupt your essential self. This part of you is free from fears, worries, and limiting beliefs.

    If you stripped everything else away, this part of you would remain: the real and true you.

    Now, here’s what a lot of us get wrong when it comes to our higher selves: we mistakenly believe that the highest self is something we must become. We strive to be better. To be someone worthy of the Universe’s infinite love. To become more than we believe ourselves to be.

    But your higher self isn’t something you become. Your highest self is who you already are.

    You don’t have to strive to become this person because this person is already you

    And this is important. Striving is the antithesis of manifestation because ingrained in it is the belief that you don’t already possess this thing. But you do. Everything you’re looking for already exists within you. Manifestation occurs when you stop living from the outside in and instead begin to live from the inside out.

    So it’s never about striving to become your highest self. It’s about knowing you already are this person. Your highest self exists within you. And as you begin to remove the layers of fears, distrust, and self-doubt that have prevented you from connecting with the real and true you, it will become easier to align with your highest, essential self each and every day.

    How To Connect With Your Higher Self

    To begin connecting with your higher self, it’s important to first go within and uncover the real, true, infinite you. Below, you’ll find some questions to ask yourself to connect deeper with this part of you. (You might find it helpful to journal your answers.)

    • Who am I without my fears?
    • Who am I without my stress?
    • Who am I without the worries that keep me up at night?
    • Who am I without the external circumstances that I’ve defined myself by?
    • Who am I when I’m doing what I love most in the world?
    • Who am I when my heart is on fire with joy and passion?
    • Who am I when I act from a place of love?
    • Who am I when I feel connected to myself, other people, and the Universe?
    • Who am I when I feel connected to something deeper and more profound than my daily external experiences?
    • Who am I when I feel connected to my purpose?
    • Who am I when I close my eyes and picture the truest, most authentic me?

    Once you have a clear understanding of who your essential self is, you can make it a daily practice to connect with this deepest part of you. To do this, it’s important to take some time each day – even if it’s just for a minute or two – to step away from the external noise and go within. Take a deep breath and remember who you are.

    Meet Your Higher Self In Meditation

    Meditation allows you to step away from the outside world for a bit and meet yourself exactly where you are. It isn’t about being perfect. It isn’t even about clearing your mind. It’s simply about being, exactly as you are. Meditation is a natural bridge to connecting with your higher self. It allows you to gently shed the layers of everything you’re not to return to who you are. Infinite. Divine. Measureless. Whole.

    One powerful practice is to consciously meet your higher self in meditation. To do this, envision that you’re somewhere you feel completely safe and at ease. You might imagine that you’re in a meadow, near the ocean, or somewhere else in nature that feels like home to you. As you’re walking along a path, you see someone in the distance. You approach closer until they’re in full view; it’s your higher self. Imagine what your higher self looks like and how they carry themselves. See them greeting you with so much love and compassion. If you have any questions you’d like to ask your higher self, ask them now. Listen to what they have to say. Remember that your higher self is connected to the light and energy of the entire universe, so trust their responses. This is divine guidance speaking directly to you.

    Create A Higher Self Morning Routine

    How would your higher self greet the new day? Your morning routine can set the foundation for the entire day ahead. When you begin your mornings as your higher self, you’re more likely to continue to connect with this truest and deepest part of you throughout the day. Instead of rushing through your mornings to get out the door, practice mindfulness as you step into the first hour of this new day. You might meditate, journal, recite positive affirmations, stretch, practice yoga, go for a jog, read a chapter out of a personal growth book, or do something else that feels fulfilling for you.

    As you begin each day, remember that you are in control of your mindset. You’re in control of your emotions. You’re in control of how you perceive this new day.

    Recite Positive Affirmations Aligned With Your Higher Self

    Positive affirmations are encouraging, uplifting statements designed to boost your confidence and self-belief. The classic intro to any positive affirmation is two simple yet powerful words: I am.

    You have the power to end that sentence in any way that feels right to you. I am worthy. I am powerful. I am brilliant. I am open-hearted. I am brave. I am extraordinary. I am infinite.

    Recite positive affirmations that resonate deeply with you. Carry these empowering words with you throughout your day. Repeat them frequently. Write them on post-it notes. Create phone reminders that pop up at random times during the day affirming your undeniable worthiness.

    The more you repeat these positive affirmations, the deeper they become ingrained into your subconscious mind. Keep repeating them over and over again. Affirm what feels true and real and good to you.

    Release Limiting Beliefs

    A limiting belief is a deep-seated belief that holds you back from realizing your true potential and living the life that you desire. Limiting beliefs aren’t a natural part of your essence and being; they weren’t a part of you when you were born onto this earth. They’re a result of your lived experiences. And most of the time, you’ll find that your limiting beliefs are rooted in fear: fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, fear of not having what it takes, fear that there isn’t room for you to succeed, fear of being seen for your true self, fear of failure, and even fear of success.

    Limiting beliefs keep you from aligning with your true self and stepping into the life that’s waiting for you beyond your worries and fears.

    Identifying your limiting beliefs requires meaningful self-reflection. What fears are you hiding behind? What’s stopping you from being your truest, most authentic you? Once you’ve identified your limiting beliefs, you can consciously choose to create new, reframed beliefs. Ask yourself, what beliefs would my higher self hold? For instance, if you have a limiting belief that you’re not smart or talented enough to make it in a certain field, your reframed belief might be that you are more than capable of succeeding and thriving (and that the Universe put this dream into your heart for a reason, so you can release your worries and choose to trust).

    Be Your Higher Self

    Embody your highest self in how you interact with friends and strangers throughout the day. In every situation you encounter, ask yourself, what would my higher self do? How would my higher self react? What choices would my higher self make? Would my higher self be critical or compassionate? Would my higher self worry about the future or trust that everything will work out? If your higher self is endlessly kind, loving, and compassionate, then give love, kindness, and compassion freely, just as your higher self would.

    Live In This Present Moment

    You have a past, and you have a future, but you don’t live in either of those spaces. You live here, right now. You’re breathing in this moment. Your heart is beating in this moment. Your power is here, right now, in this present moment. And this is where your higher self lives. Your higher self isn’t reliving the past or worrying about the future. Your higher self knows that the best thing you can do for your future is to love this moment right now. To find gratitude in this moment. To discover the miracles that this moment can offer when you open your eyes to uncover them.

    So keep coming back to the present moment. It’s okay to think about the future. It’s also okay to think about the past – to wonder, even, what would’ve happened if you had made different choices.

    The key is to not dwell in those spaces.

    Keep coming back to this moment right now. Keep breathing. Keep being. Keep noticing. You’ll be surprised by how much you discover about yourself and the world around you when you simply pay attention.

    Simply put, the more you align with your higher self, the easier manifestation becomes. Not only does it become easier to vibrate at the frequency of your desires, but you’re more patient, trusting, and at peace with all that’s happening in your life. You honor your inner knowing and are guided by faith over fear. You create a life of true abundance not from the outside in but from the inside out.

    Once you can tap into this essential state and consistently align with the abundance within, you’ll see it manifest in all different forms outside of you. 

    To be clear, you can manifest things in the short-term without consistently aligning with your highest self, as long as you consistently align with the positive emotions of what you want. But long-term manifestation without the highest self isn’t sustainable. It will constantly feel like you’re striving to become something rather than simply being. The work you do now to consistently align with your higher self will ultimately make your long-term journey more joyful, peaceful, and simply easier. It will become less about doing and more about being

    The importance of aligning with your highest self goes beyond manifesting for the future. It’s about knowing your worthiness right now. And you are worthy and deserving of living a life that feels good to you. To wake up each morning in alignment with the real and true you. To experience feelings of joy, love, peace, abundance, and freedom as your permanent, natural state. 

    And you deserve to know that you are worthy of receiving your dreams just because you’re you. You don’t have to do more. You don’t have to be more. You don’t have to achieve more. You get to receive because who you are, exactly as you are, is always enough.

    That’s what your higher self gives you.

    Less striving. More receiving.

    Your Greatest Teacher

    Have you ever searched for answers outside yourself when you knew the right answer deep within the whole time?

    One final note I want to make about your higher self is that this part of you is often your greatest teacher. If you’re seeking answers outside of yourself and having a difficult time, allow yourself to pause. Take a step back. Close your eyes, and picture your higher self. Ask your higher self the questions that are weighing on your mind. (You might try this practice in meditation, if it feels right.)

    While the Universe will provide you with signs and synchronicities to deliver messages, ultimately, the most profound messages come from the eternal, infinite part of you that exists within. This is the life force of the Universe flowing inside you. You may not quite trust it yet because you’ve been taught to trust your logic and reason over this deep inner knowing. But the eternal energy flowing within you is your greatest guide and greatest teacher. As you learn to trust it, answers will come more easily, and you’ll be able to tap into your intuition to lead you to your next step.

    Start practicing coming to your highest self when you have questions about your life path. Have patience if the answers don’t come to you right away. Sometimes, you might ask a question, and then an answer will come to you in the middle of the afternoon several days later.

    And if an answer comes that doesn’t seem logical, don’t immediately dismiss it. Explore this answer with gentle curiosity. Your mind will likely immediately try to find all the reasons why it must be wrong, so allow yourself to flip your perspective and look for the reasons it might be right.

    What Is Your Intuition?

    In many ways, your intuition is the least glamorous thing about you. It isn’t showy. It doesn’t like to be the center of attention. It’s so subtle, in fact, that many people question whether theirs works. 

    Right away, I’m here to tell you that you do have one, and it does work. You’ve probably even encountered it recently. 

    We all possess a deep inner knowing softly whispering inside of us; we just don’t always listen to it because our cognitive minds are so busy worrying, stressing, second guessing, developing worst-case scenarios, and overthinking. The second your intuition nudges you to do something out of the norm, your logical brain says, “Hold up, but what about all these 1,291 things that can go wrong?”

    And sometimes, you actually hear your intuition loud and clear, but you don’t want to listen to it. 

    • Your intuition may tell you it’s time to break up with your partner, but you’re terrified of change and don’t want to cause another person pain.
    • Your intuition may tell you not to accept that perfect job with the great pay, but how could you turn down that money?
    • Or your intuition may tell you that you need some more time to yourself before you dive into another relationship, but you really hate being alone.

    This is one of the most frequently asked topics in manifestation, so I’m going to dive right in and cover a lot here today. Let’s explore how to tap into your intuition, what your intuition should feel like, the relationship between intuition and manifestation, and what to do if you don’t like what your intuition is telling you.

    How To Tap Into Your Intuition

    Below, find six practices to help you tap into your intuition, plus a few additional exercises you can try. (There’s a lot of information here, but consistently following these practices will strengthen your connection with your intuition and help you tap into this deep inner knowing with ease. The first two practices are especially important.)

    Quiet Your Mind

    The first step to take to start connecting with your intuition? Listen. You can’t hear what that inner voice is trying to tell you if you’re constantly immersed in noise. The quickest and most profound way to start connecting with your intuition is to let silence be a normal part of your life.

    If you have a daily meditation practice already, you may already be benefitting from these regular encounters with silence and stillness. And if you don’t have a meditation practice, that’s okay. I know meditation may seem overwhelming at first. This is partially due to the myth that meditation requires you to have no thoughts. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about meditation and why many people believe meditation isn’t for them. But if you listen to just about any meditation teacher, they’ll tell you the same thing: meditation is not about clearing your mind of thoughts. If it was, I’m not sure any of us, not even the most advanced meditators, would ever succeed. The last thing we want to do is suppress or evade our own thoughts.

    At its heart, meditation (especially practices rooted in mindfulness) is about non-judgmental observation, conscious awareness, and gently rooting yourself in the present moment. It’s a chance to step away from the external noise and come home to yourself for a little while. And this is where your intuition shines: in the quiet places where you can simply be.

    The paradox of using meditation to connect with your intuition is that you’re not actively going to try connecting with your intuition during your meditation. If you sit in silence and try to force something to come forward, you’re likely going to put excess pressure on yourself; in turn, this often causes frustration and anxiety. The key is patience. Sit in stillness for ten minutes today. Then, sit in stillness for ten minutes tomorrow. Day after day, keep sitting in stillness for ten minutes at a time. Don’t try to force anything. It will come on its own. All of the mental clutter will start to clear up, and your intuition will come forward.

    Practice Mindfulness

    One of the biggest barriers to connecting with your intuition is being anywhere but where you are right now. What do I mean by this? As you go about your day, it’s easy to get lost in thoughts about the past or future. You might find yourself replaying yesterday’s events or worrying about the days ahead. When this happens, your mind becomes so busy with troublesome thoughts, you lose your connection with that quiet voice within. Mindfulness is the key to returning to this moment right now and getting in touch with your inner knowing.

    First, let’s take a step back and talk about mindfulness itself. What is it, and why is it so important? Mindfulness is non-judgmental, conscious awareness in the present moment. This means being aware of what’s happening within and around you in this moment. How does your body feel? Are you experiencing any anxiety or tension? What can you perceive with your five senses?

    The key here is not to judge anything you notice. Don’t label any of it as right or wrong. Just notice.

    So why is mindfulness important when it comes to connecting to your intuition? Mindfulness allows you to become aware of what’s happening within and around you in this present moment. Remember, your intuition isn’t flashy. Every once in a while, it might scream at you, like when it knows you might be walking into a dangerous situation. But for most of the daily stuff, it tends to be quiet and unassuming. You can’t always expect it to speak up louder; instead, you must allow yourself to become quieter so you can hear it. 

    Mindfulness quiets the noise of your worries, fears, judgments, and daily stresses so you can hear what’s really going on in the deepest parts within.

    Truly, I can’t emphasize enough how important mindfulness is in connecting to your intuition. It may feel like this is a slow process, but I promise, if you consistently practice mindfulness techniques for a month straight, you will begin noticing shifts within yourself. This is the bridge to connecting to that quiet voice within: being consciously aware of what’s happening inside you in this present moment, without judging what’s going on. Simply listening. Breathing. Being.

    Cultivate Calm

    I’ll keep this one short: clarity comes with calm. People aren’t known to make good choices when they’re feeling stressed, worried, angry, or depressed. In fact, this has been backed by research: we make better intuitive decisions when we’re in a good mood than when we’re in a bad mood. 

    Connecting with your intuition requires you to first do the two things I mentioned above: quiet your mind and practice mindfulness. Mindfulness will allow you to recognize when you’re experiencing a low vibration. By recognizing your own low vibration, you can choose not to make any big decisions at that moment.

    Conversely, it will help to bring clarity when you’re experiencing a positive vibration. This is when the magic happens. When you’re experiencing a sense of calm and inner peace, that’s when you’re in greatest alignment with your inner knowing.

    Start consciously working with your intuition during moments when you’re feeling really good. I started with walks around my neighborhood. During these walks, I always felt calm, grounded, and connected to my higher self. So I started asking my intuition to guide me when I should turn and where I should walk next. Most of the time, nothing really happened. And that’s completely okay! Sometimes, when you work with your intuition, nothing will actually seem to happen around you. This is normal. Just because nothing happens around you doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. Keep practicing in these moments. This is preparing you to trust your intuition for those bigger moments when something does happen.

    Practice Picking Up Signals From People Around You

    Think of the people you spend the most time with: family, friends, coworkers. How often have you taken one look at a person you’re close with and known that something was wrong? What about those times when it’s less obvious? Someone may seem fine on the surface, but a feeling deep within tells you that something’s off. They seem distant. Distracted. Heavy.

    Start approaching your daily interactions with the intention to pick up on any underlying feelings that may be going on beneath the surface. When you begin your interaction, ask yourself, “What do I feel from this person right now?” See if you can name that underlying feeling. As you continue to practice this, it will become easier to tap into that feeling within. In time, this will expand into other areas of your life. Not only will you be able to connect with your intuition when interacting with other people, but you’ll feel those subtle hunches when it comes to your own life path.

    Take Days Off

    This directly correlates with what we’ve discussed in some of the different points above: make space for stillness, step back from the noise, and give your soul a chance to take a deep sigh of relief. If you’re currently immersed in a cycle of feeling stressed and busy all the time, you’re going to have a difficult time connecting with your inner knowing. See if you can plan days throughout your month where you don’t have anything on the to-do list. Do things that make you feel calm and at ease. Again, you don’t have to actively try to make your intuition come forward. Let it come to you.

    (And to add to this, spending time in nature and taking social media breaks will also help you escape all the outer noise and connect to your inner self. You’ll often hear about these practices when it comes to self-care and taking care of your mental and emotional health, but they have the added benefit of also helping you develop and strengthen your intuition.)

    Connect With Your Body

    You’ll experience your intuition in goosebumps, shivers, chest pressure, and inner aches. You’ll also experience it in more subtle feelings and hunches. The better connected you are with your body, the more you’ll be able to pick up on subtle changes happening inside you. Yoga and meditation are two practices you can use to connect with your body. You can also practice simply standing with your two feet on the ground, closing your eyes, and connecting with how you feel.

    Connection also comes just by paying attention. Step back throughout your day and ask, “How does my body feel right now?” Answer without judgment. The more you practice this, the easier it will become to pick up on any understated shifts that happen within.

    A Few More Practices

    In the long-term, mindfulness and meditation are the two practices that will have the most profound effect on how you connect with your intuition. However, if you want to start working with your intuition more closely right away, there are plenty of other meaningful practices you can try today. Here are a few examples:

    • One of my favorite things to do is go into a store that has crystals and gemstones and let my intuition guide me to pick out a new gemstone for myself. (The small ones are often as inexpensive as $1, so this doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.) Once I pick out my stone, I’ll take it home and read about the spiritual meaning of that gemstone. Then, I’ll think about why my intuition may have led me to that stone. Is it because of the spiritual meaning, or does it simply have a feeling of positive energy? There’s no right or wrong answer here. It’s just a fun and easy practice for developing your intuition, plus you get a new crystal or gemstone from it! You also don’t exclusively have to do this practice with crystals. Pick something you like that makes you feel good, like flowers, books, jewelry, or candles.
    • Working with oracle cards is also a great way to develop your intuition. Pick a card, and before you consult a guidebook, let your inner knowing interpret the meaning of the card.
    • You might also start keeping a dream journal. Try to write what you remember about your dream shortly after you wake up. (The sooner, the better.) Consider if your intuition was trying to tell you something within your dream. You might also see if your intuition can help you uncover any deeper meanings or symbolism in the dream itself. 
    • A pendulum is another great tool for developing your intuition. It’s most often used to gain insight and clarity when there are areas of uncertainty in your life. Anytime you have a question and are looking for help or advice, you can use a pendulum to receive guidance from a higher power. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can use a pendulum to strengthen your intuition, this article explains what a pendulum is and how it’s used.

    What Does Your Intuition Feel Like?

    Your intuition can be so subtle, it’s often difficult to describe what it feels like. For a situation in which you might be putting yourself in danger, the feeling will be more obvious. Your heart will race, your palms will get sweaty, and that voice within will yell at you to turn around and find safety. Sometimes, your breath may quicken, and you’ll get shivers down your spine. When you encounter these experiences, don’t question these feelings. And especially don’t question whether you’re overreacting. Err on the side of caution. Trust what you feel.

    Most situations in life aren’t like this, though – especially when it comes to intuitive nudges you have about your own life path. Your intuition usually doesn’t speak in shouts but in whispers. And often, it’s less of a feeling and more of a knowing. You’ll experience a sudden understanding: clarity that just comes to you, often unexpectedly. If something is off (maybe with a relationship or a business deal), there will be a part of you that just knows.

    Your intuition comes from your heart’s consciousness, which isn’t always as easy to grasp as the logic and reason of your mind’s consciousness. Thus, you may try to talk your way out of whatever it is that you’re feeling. You may keep trying to reason with yourself and follow your logical mind. And it’s okay; most of us have done this at some point in our lives. We’ve been taught to trust logic and reason over intuition and inner knowing. And that’s what can make following your intuition feel kind of scary – because it requires you to alter your mindset. It’s less about thinking your way forward and more about feeling your way forward.

    Here are a few of the ways in which you might experience your intuition:

    • An unexplainable “knowing”
    • A feeling of “rightness”
    • Clarity
    • Ease
    • Hunches
    • A quiet voice within
    • A recurring thought
    • Goosebumps
    • Shivers
    • Racing heart
    • An inner ache
    • Pressure in your chest
    • Physical discomfort
    • Emotional discomfort

    Your Intuition & Manifestation

    So what role does your intuition play in manifestation?

    First, let’s consider how manifestation works:

    • You set an intention based on the authentic, deeply felt dreams that have been placed in your heart.
    • You communicate this intention to the Universe. Your positive vibrations are one way of communicating this intention, as by vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you express that you’re ready to receive more of this good-feeling thing.
    • The Universe works behind the scenes to set everything in motion. It communicates back to you in the form of messages, synchronicities, and most importantly, your own intuition. Being in the vibration of what you desire allows you to receive these signs and inner nudges with clarity. (In contrast, being in a state of stress, worry, and anger will cause you to miss these signs and feelings.)
    • Then, you take inspired action based on the communication the Universe has given you. This leads you on the path straight to your dreams and desires.

    The art of manifestation is the art of learning how to communicate with the Universe. You communicate every single day through your vibration. The Universe communicates back to you through your own intuition. 

    So if you’ve set an intention, that means signs, synchronicities, and inner nudges are going to come. Your job now is to listen and take inspired action. Once you do this, you’ll receive your next nudge forward. As you follow this path, you’ll be in divine flow with the Universe, and your manifestations will start to come alive.

    I know this might sound like a long process, but I promise, it’s not. Depending on the specific dream, some things could come in months, weeks, days – even hours. 

    The key is to not worry when it will come. And in time, you won’t. Just keep following your intuition, and you’ll come to realize the journey is just as beautiful as the destination.

    What If You Don’t Like What Your Intuition Is Telling You?

    So let’s say you’re trying to manifest something, but your intuition is telling you to do the very opposite of what you think you should be doing. Often, when you want something, it’s because you imagine that outcome will make you feel a certain way.

    • You may want to manifest a perfect partner, even though your intuition is telling you to take some time to be single, because you imagine the partner will make you feel loved.
    • You dream of getting a prestigious position for a certain well-known company, even though your inner knowing says it’s not as perfect as it seems, because you imagine you’ll finally feel successful and worthy of your parents’ approval.
    • Or you want to manifest the money to have that cosmetic surgery, even though you’re unsure about it, because you imagine it’ll make you feel beautiful and empowered.

    There’s nothing wrong with wanting these things for yourself. Nothing. It only becomes negative when it goes against your intuition. This is when I urge you to step back and re-evaluate your overall goal. Take some time to pause. You can meditate, journal, or take a day off to spend time in nature. Set the intention to understand your desires and what you really want. Allow yourself to shift your vision. 

    Instead of going after that perfect partner, job, or appearance, set an intention to encompass the feelings of being loved, successful, worthy, beautiful, and empowered (or however you imagine this external thing will make you feel). Focus on those feelings, and allow your intuition to guide you forward on your path. Trust that your inner knowing always has the right answers, and believe that the Universe will always take you where you want to go. It may mean that your perfect partner isn’t supposed to come into your life right now, but you find that you feel so loved anyway, you’re okay waiting.

    There’s a lot more to be said about intuition, but for now, I’ll leave you with this: Trust your inner knowing. Even if it doesn’t make sense today, it will with time. If you’re feeling lost, instead of searching for external answers to guide your path, sit in the quiet of your own mind for a little while, and you will find you already know everything you need to take the next step.

    What Is Visualization?

    My favorite way to describe visualization is intentional daydreaming. You might also consider it daydreaming on purpose. In manifestation, visualization allows you to simulate the experience of already having your desires in the present moment. This is a profound practice to help you get clear about what you want and begin vibrating at the frequency of your desires today.

    What makes visualization truly powerful is that it helps you to get in alignment with universal energy. This makes you more receptive to connecting with your intuition and taking inspired action.

    But there’s even more than meets the eye when it comes to the power of visualization. Here’s why visualization is so important when it comes to achieving your goals and manifesting your dreams:

    • Visualization is a creative practice. When you visualize, you activate your creative subconscious mind. In turn, this opens your mind to discovering creative opportunities and previously unseen possibilities for achieving your goals. You’re more open and receptive to paths you may not have noticed before. 
    • Visualization helps you to become more mentally resilient. One of my favorite examples of this is Michael Phelps, who regularly used visualization as part of his Olympic training. He didn’t just visualize everything going perfectly, though; he’d visualize all potential scenarios, including things that might go wrong, like water getting into his goggles. This made him more mentally prepared the day of the actual competition. It paid off, too, because when water actually did get into his goggles during an Olympic race, he didn’t freak out. In fact, he set a world record in that race, even with this potentially devastating obstacle. Through visualization, you can prepare for anything. If challenges and obstacles arise in your outer world, you have the strength and resilience to persevere because you’ve already overcome this challenge in your mind many times before.
    • Visualization increases your motivation. Part of the magic of visualization is that your brain can’t actually tell the difference between your powerful visualization and reality; it has the same activity whether you’re physically doing the action or envisioning it in your mind. The more you practice visualization, the more real this image becomes for you. This increases both your inner confidence and internal motivation to achieve this dream. You may even start doing things that you would normally avoid because you have the courage and confidence to take this step.
    • And, as mentioned above, visualization helps you to vibrate at the frequency of your desires, thus activating the Law of Attraction. The longer you hold onto this vibration, the more you’ll effortlessly become a magnet for all that you want. (And the more often you practice this, the easier it will be to hold this positive vibration.)

    How To Visualize


    One of my favorite ways to practice visualization is through a manifestation meditation. A manifestation meditation is a meditation specifically designed to align you with the positive thoughts and emotions of your desires, lifting your vibrations so that you become a magnet for all of your deepest dreams. This practice is a powerful way to get clear about what you want to manifest, lift your vibrations to match your desires, and let go of limiting beliefs and resistance within.

    Visualization is the cornerstone of a manifestation meditation as it allows you to see in your mind’s eye exactly what it is that you want to manifest. Many guided meditations will take you through a day in your dream life; you’ll be able to visualize all the details of your ideal life, including the house you live in, who you’re surrounded by, and what you do during your day. The key to a successful visualization is to not only see the details play out in your mind but to feel all the high-vibe emotions of having your desires right now. When you do this, you directly connect yourself to the experience of having the thing(s) you desire, becoming a magnet for your dreams to manifest in your reality.

    Here are the steps to practice a manifestation meditation utilizing visualization:

    • Find a comfortable spot where you won’t be interrupted. Set aside at least 10 minutes to do this practice, though you can take more time if you’d like. You can sit cross-legged or on a chair with your feet on the ground. Relax your shoulders and open your chest so your heart center is open to receiving. Place your hands on your knees or thighs with your palms facing the sky (in receiving mode).
    • Spend a minute or two getting relaxed. Unclench your jaw and breathe into any tension you feel in your body. Then, breathe it out. Take a few deep, conscious inhales and exhales before letting your breath steady into a normal, comfortable rhythm.
    • What do you want to manifest? Bring it to the surface now. Visualize a perfect day in which all of your dreams and desires have already come true. Start with seeing yourself waking up. Where are you? How do you feel when you awaken for the day? Picture all the details of where you are, who you’re with, and what you do throughout your day. As you visualize, allow yourself to feel all of the positive emotions of having all your dreams and desires right now. If you want to manifest love, allow yourself to feel truly loved, protected, and cherished. If you want to manifest career success, allow yourself to feel successful, joyful, and thriving. Feel into these positive emotions in every cell of your being. You can even let a soft smile lift your lips if you’d like.
    • Finish your visualization by picturing yourself sitting or laying in bed at night. Breathe in gratitude for this beautiful life you’ve created. Feel grateful for all that you have and all that’s coming. Inhale gratitude and exhale it back into the world. Allow yourself to sit in sincere appreciation for a minute or two as you reflect on your beautiful life.
    • Repeat a few high-vibe affirmations that further increase your vibrations and align you with the positive feelings of having all your dreams and desires.
    • Finish your manifestation meditation by picturing yourself letting go. Visualize your desire as a balloon, a ball of light, a paper lantern, or anything else that feels right to you. Release it into the universe and see it flying up into the starry sky. Watch it until it disappears, then smile and lean into ease knowing that all of your dreams are on their way to you right now.

    Note that you don’t necessarily have to visualize a day in your dream life. If you want to manifest love, you might visualize your perfect first date with your soulmate. You could visualize the moment you realize you’ve fallen in love or your first holiday together. Truly, the possibilities are endless, so feel free to get creative here. You might write down all the scenarios you want to visualize and check them off one at a time.

    Vision Board

    A vision board is a collection of words and/or images that represent your highest self living your ideal life. Common components of a vision board include your career, relationships, home, car, health, wealth, spirituality, lifestyle, hobbies, self-care activities, and anything that represents the life of your dreams. There truly is no limit to what you can include on your vision board as you’re the only one who knows the dreams in your heart.

    Vision boards are typically used for goal-setting purposes and can be a powerful tool in manifestation. They help you to set your intentions and get clear about what exactly it is that you want to manifest into your experience. They can also be used for the purpose of raising your vibration. In fact, this is where a vision board truly shines.

    A vision board isn’t purely about setting goals; it’s about allowing yourself to experience all of the positive feelings of having all of your hopes and dreams right now. Is your board filled with images of travel, adventure, and freedom? Or is your deepest desire to have stability, a beautiful home, and a loving relationship?

    Whatever it is that you dream of, allow yourself to feel all of the positive emotions of having it all right now.

    Allow yourself to feel freedom. To feel love. To feel passion. To feel abundance. Feel all of these positive emotions now, knowing in your heart that everything you desire is already yours.

    When you focus on the lack and absence of your desires, you attract more lack into your current experience. But if you vibrate at the frequency of already living the life of your dreams, you attract more of this beautiful abundance to you.

    And that’s the magic of the vision board.

    It isn’t simply about slapping some pretty images on a poster board and glancing at it from time to time.

    It’s about knowing that you have the power to create your life and showing the Universe exactly what you want – then, through your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, drawing that life to you.

    Here are some tips for creating your own vision board:

    • Think big. When you start to create your vision board, you might be tempted to only add things to it that seem “realistic.” But who actually says what’s realistic and what isn’t? Fill your board with the biggest, most extravagant dreams you’ve got. All of it. Let limits be a part of someone else’s story. You’re the one writing your story. You’re creating your path. You. Are. Limitless.
    • Add quotes. Empowering quotes and affirmations are an often overlooked yet profound part of your vision board. Find quotes and affirmations that truly resonate with you. Add them to your vision board and read them aloud each day.
    • Create in a state of joy. When you create your vision board, try to find a time and place when you’re free from distractions. As you create your board, allow yourself to feel all the positive feelings associated with your dreams. Let joy and peace permeate your being. Know that you’re on the right path, and this is exactly where you’re meant to be.
    • Choose authenticity over perfection. When you create your vision board, you’re not just envisioning your perfect life; what’s more important is creating your authentic life. What feels true to you? Maybe it’s not something that would make sense to anyone else, and that’s okay. It doesn’t have to as long as it feels right to you.


    Scripting is the practice of writing about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest. It’s similar to the visualization practice described above in the meditation section, except instead of sitting and visualizing it all in your mind, you’re writing this vision down on paper.

    If you want to manifest your dream job, you can script a typical day in the life of your dream job as though you already have it right now. If you want to manifest better health, you can write about how it feels to be perfectly healthy, fit, and strong. And if you want to manifest love, you can script a day in the life with your perfect partner, as though this person is already in your life in this moment.

    Like other visualization practices, the key to unlocking the magic of scripting is not just to write the words but to truly feel the positive emotions of already having everything you desire. Allow yourself to feel joyful, peaceful, free, happy, healthy, and loved now. When you invite these feelings into your inner world, you become a magnet for even more positive feelings and experiences to manifest in your outer world.

    Live As If

    “Living as if” essentially means to live as though you already have received your desired manifestation. You’re already working in your dream career. You already share a life with your soulmate. You already live in the dream house and drive the perfect car. Like other practices, the key is to truly feel the empowering feelings of already having these things in your current experience.

    Find moments throughout your day where you can practice living as if. For instance, let’s say you’re driving home from work. While you’re driving, imagine that you’re driving your dream car. Touch the steering wheel as though this is the steering wheel to the car you’ve always wanted to drive. You might take it a step further by also envisioning that you’re driving home from your dream job. Even just practicing this for five minutes at a time can raise your vibration and help you get into that good feeling place of already having your desires.

    You might continue this practice when you get home. Visualize yourself pulling up to your dream house. Feel excited when you pull into the driveway. Allow yourself to feel immense gratitude for this incredible place you get to call your home.

    You can practice this throughout your day: when you wake up, as you’re driving to work, while you’re shopping at the grocery store, while you’re eating, as you’re getting ready for bed, and any other time it feels right for you. To make it less overwhelming, start with just three to five minutes at a time. Eventually, you might increase this to ten, fifteen, twenty minutes, or even longer. This is a great method for incorporating visualization throughout your day (as opposed to just practicing visualization in one sitting for ten minutes a day).

    Combining Visualization & Positive Affirmations

    Visualization is a powerful practice on its own. Using visualization and positive affirmations is a game changer. This lifts your vibration and fosters mental strength and resilience. By continually visualizing your ideal future and affirming your undeniable worthiness, you train your subconscious brain to believe you already have what you desire.

    When you first start using affirmations, it may feel kind of weird at first. You’ll likely have to continually remind yourself to use them throughout your day. In time, though, you’ll no longer have to remind yourself because it will become second nature. And eventually, you won’t even need to use them at all. Why? Because the empowering words you’re affirming will become part of your subconscious brain – part of the very foundation of who you are, woven into the fabric of your being. You won’t have to affirm that you’re worthy because your inherent worthiness will be so ingrained within you, you’ll already know this at a subconscious level.

    This makes visualization and positive affirmations a powerful pair. If you practice a manifestation meditation, incorporate affirmations into your meditation. If you have a vision board, see if you can have an accompanying affirmation for each image. Continue to practice visualization and repeat positive affirmations so that they come so naturally to you, your brain truly believes you are everything you’re visualizing and affirming. (Because you are. Truly. You are worthy. You are powerful. You are more than enough. You have so much to offer. You really can have it all. You are limitless.)
