How to Release Limiting Beliefs (and Create New Beliefs)
In this post, learn how to release limiting beliefs using several powerful practices. These practices will not only help you release your limiting beliefs, but they’ll allow you to make space to create new, empowering beliefs that will serve you as you step into a new chapter.
What is a Limiting Belief?
A limiting belief is a deep-seated belief that holds you back from realizing your true potential and living your fullest, most authentic life.
Limiting beliefs can come in many forms. Here are a few examples:
- There are already thousands of wellness coaches out there. I don’t have anything special to offer to stand out from the crowd. I’ll never be able to compete.
- I’ll get back on the dating scene someday, but nobody’s going to love me the way I am now. First, I need to lose twenty pounds. My physical self has to be in peak shape to be loved.
- Only really lucky people get to have that kind of success. I’ll never make it.
Do any of these sound familiar? Or have you experienced similar types of thoughts that have held you back from taking the next step personally or professionally?
Most of the time, you’ll find that your limiting beliefs are rooted in fear: fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, fear of not being enough, fear of failure, and even fear of success.
But know this: you are not your fears.
And you have the power to rise above your limiting beliefs and fears. What held you back yesterday doesn’t have to continue to hold you back today.
Below, you’ll discover how to release limiting beliefs using several powerful practices. You can use one or two of these practices, or you can try them all and see how they feel for you.
Even more importantly, these practices don’t just help you release limiting beliefs; they allow you to create new, empowering beliefs that will guide you in your journey forward into a new, more freeing chapter.
Do you want to dig even deeper into your limiting beliefs and begin creating a new story for yourself today? Check out the Releasing Limiting Beliefs workbook, part of the Authentic Self: Self-Love Workbooks series. In this 42-page digital workbook, you’ll identify your limiting beliefs and do the deeper inner work of releasing them so you can create new, empowering beliefs to guide your self-love journey. How to Release Limiting Beliefs (5 Methods)
Make a Reframed Beliefs List
One of my favorite ways to release limiting beliefs is to make a list of new, reframed beliefs.
To do this, you can use a sheet of paper or pull up a blank document on your computer. Make a table with two columns.
Title the first column, Old Limiting Beliefs. Title the second column, New Reframed Beliefs. You can also use the titles, Limiting Beliefs I’m Releasing and Empowering Beliefs I’m Embracing.
Under the Limiting Beliefs column, write down all of the limiting beliefs that have held you back. Maybe there’s just one or two really big ones, or there may be several you want to write down.
Now, what’s the opposite of those limiting beliefs you just wrote down?
In the next column, turn every limiting belief into a new, positive, empowering belief. Essentially, you’re writing a powerful affirmation here. If your belief is that you’re not good enough, affirm that you are good enough. Write what feels good and right to you.
Repeat these new reframed beliefs as often as you need to. You might decide to look at them every morning and recite your empowering beliefs aloud.
Here’s an example of how your list might look:
Old Limiting Beliefs New Reframed Beliefs I’m not talented enough to make it. Why even bother? I have what it takes to succeed and thrive. I’m more than enough. Nobody will want to date someone like me. I shouldn’t even try. I have so many amazing qualities to offer. There’s someone out there looking for exactly someone like me. Burn Your Limiting Beliefs List
Another practice that might feel cathartic for you is to take the limiting beliefs list you wrote above and burn it. Let this be a representation of you letting go of your limiting beliefs and making space for something new in your life.
If you do this, I recommend still finding a way to turn those limiting beliefs into empowering beliefs. After you burn your limiting beliefs, you can make a list of positive affirmations that represent your new beliefs. Instead of focusing on the negative energy of your old beliefs, focus on the fresh energy of your new beliefs. Let this new energy carry you forward into your next chapter.
Visualize Releasing Your Limiting Beliefs
Another one of my favorite practices for releasing limiting beliefs is to envision myself throwing my limiting beliefs off a cliff and watching them disappear.
To do this, find a quiet, safe spot where you won’t be interrupted. Close your eyes. Imagine you’re standing at the edge of a cliff. Below is a deep chasm—you can’t see the bottom. Now, invite your limiting beliefs to come forward. See them with non-judgmental awareness.
This means you don’t criticize yourself for having these beliefs. You don’t place labels on these beliefs as bad or wrong. Simply see them, just as they are.
You might even send a little love to your limiting beliefs and acknowledge the ways in which they tried to serve you. For instance, you might say, “I recognize that you were trying to protect me from getting my heart broken, but I no longer need your service anymore.”
Next, release these old beliefs into the chasm below. Watch them until they disappear. Feel yourself getting lighter without the weight of these fears pressing down on you.
Now you have space to create new, positive beliefs. Create your new beliefs in love, kindness, and courage, knowing you have the strength to step into the life you were always meant to live.
Journal Your Feelings
Instead of making a list, it might help you to explore your limiting beliefs in journaling.
Journaling allows you the time and space to explore the limiting beliefs that have been holding you back. It also allows you to probe these beliefs and ask, “Is it true?”
For instance, you might discover that the belief that you’re not talented enough has been holding you back from pursuing your dreams. But once you start writing about it, you realize that you’ve just been using this fear to stay small.
And you also realize that it absolutely is not true.
You are talented enough. And you have what it takes to succeed—you just had to recognize it for yourself.
Explore your limiting beliefs with love and compassion through journaling. And in your writing, you can release these beliefs and create new beliefs that support your mind, body, and spirit.
Here’s a few questions to ask yourself as you journal:
- What’s stopping me from taking the next step to pursuing my dreams?
- What fears do I possess?
- What beliefs am I clinging onto?
- If these limiting beliefs didn’t exist, what would I do?
- Are these limiting beliefs actually true?
- What new, empowering beliefs am I creating today?
Express Gratitude for Your Limiting Beliefs
One way to overcome your limiting beliefs is to make them a little less intimidating. And you do this by recognizing that limiting beliefs aren’t 100% bad, scary things.
You possess these limiting beliefs for a reason. Most likely, they were protecting you from something. Take some time to explore how these limiting beliefs may have been trying to serve you. You can write this in a journal, create a list, or simply think about your answers.
Then, thank these limiting beliefs for the ways in which they served you. Afterwards, you can use any of the practices on this list to release them, or you can simply say, “I’m ready to release you now.”
Feel the space around you open up as you prepare to create new beliefs that are more in line with the life you want to live.
Next Steps
So you’ve released your limiting beliefs—what comes next?
In the beginning, you may fall back into old thought patterns that don’t reflect where you want to go with your life. When this happens, don’t judge or criticize yourself. Rather, react with love and a whole lot of self-compassion.
It helps to have positive affirmations on-hand that lift your vibration and help you to feel confident and empowered. Choose some of your favorite affirmations and save them to your phone (or print them out). Repeat them daily. To help you get started, I’ve linked to some of my favorite positive affirmations below.
If you find yourself falling back into old, limiting beliefs, you can repeat any of the practices on this list. Remember that it took you years to cultivate these beliefs, so it will take time to release them fully. And that’s okay—in time, you’ll find that your old beliefs are slipping further and further away from your mindset, until you no longer fall back to them anymore.
For even deeper healing as you let go of your limiting beliefs and embrace new, empowering beliefs, be sure to check out the Releasing Limiting Beliefs workbook. Begin writing your new story today.

About Your Free Affirmation Wallpaper
Below, you’ll find 35 beautiful images for free positive affirmation wallpaper specifically designed for your phone’s lock screen. Each image includes a unique design and uplifting affirmation meant to level up your mindset and remind you of your inherent and unconditional worthiness.
Before you choose the affirmation wallpaper that works best for you, here are a few notes:
- If you’re saving this wallpaper to your phone, just hold down the image and save to your photo gallery. Easy peasy!
- I know how annoying it is to find a beautiful design to use for your phone’s wallpaper . . . only for a giant website logo or site address to be plastered in the middle of it. Because of that, I chose not to include my name or website address on these designs. I just ask that you use these for personal use only, and if you do share on social media, please tag and/or link back to this page.
- When you set this wallpaper to be the lock screen on your phone, make sure to turn the perspective zoom off so the whole image will show on the screen.
- Do you have a vision board album on your phone? If so, you can also save these quotes to your digital vision board. (Click here for more vision board affirmations and here for empowering vision board quotes.)
- Finally, I usually compress images before uploading them on my site, but I didn’t want to lower the quality of these images. Because of that, you may need to wait just a couple extra seconds for the images to fully load. (But I promise, it’s worth it!)
And that’s it! I hope the positive affirmation wallpaper below brings you endless peace, joy, and love within. (And more than anything, I hope these designs remind you that you are always, always worthy.)

33 Spirituality Journal Prompts to Connect to Your Spirit
Below, discover 33 spirituality journal prompts to gently guide you within and help you to connect to your innermost self.
Spirituality
Click here to skip straight to the journal prompts.
Who is your spiritual self?
Do you connect with your spiritual self in the silence of meditation or in the company of others? Do you feel most spiritually aligned at a religious temple, or does your spiritual self speak to you when you’re in the mountains or near the ocean?
What does spirituality mean to you? How does it show up in your daily life? How does it guide your actions and beliefs?
All of these questions could be journal prompts themselves, and there are no right or wrong answers.
Throughout your life, you’ll find people whose spiritual beliefs align with yours, and you’ll find others who have very different beliefs. You’ll also cross paths with people who are in different stages of their spiritual journeys. Some are only just beginning to connect with their own spirituality, while others have been on this journey for a long time.
No two spiritual journeys look exactly the same. How you connect with your spiritual self is deeply personal to you.
Often, we may lose our spiritual selves amidst the noise of daily life. We get lost in the busyness of to-do lists and external obligations. We work. We run errands. We take care of our responsibilities.
And as a result, we may feel like something’s missing. Something we can’t quite pinpoint. Something that goes beyond explanation.
That something is your connection with your innermost self. In the midst of all the external noise, we forget to connect with our own spirits. We lose touch of our true purpose. We forget what it feels like to simply surrender and trust.
The 33 spirituality journal prompts below are meant to gently guide you within and help you to connect to your true self. There are no rules for how to answer these journal prompts, but I do urge you not to judge or criticize yourself. At all times, show yourself deep compassion and love. If possible, try to give yourself some time alone to focus on your journaling without distractions.
And remember that you are always worthy and deserving of unconditional love. You’re worthy of receiving love from yourself. You’re worthy of receiving love from other people. And you’re worthy of receiving love from a higher power.
Even if you’ve lost touch with your true self, you still possess infinite worthiness within you.
I hope these spirituality journal prompts support your total well-being and serve your mind, body, and spirit.

Morning Routine Checklist For Manifestation (Free PDF)
In this article, learn how to create a morning routine for manifestation, plus download your free printable morning routine checklist below!
How To Use This Morning Routine Checklist
Every morning, you have a new opportunity for a fresh start. Each day is a blank slate. A brand new beginning.
A chance to create something new.
And the best way to set a positive foundation for the day ahead?
Create a morning routine that supports your mind, body, and soul.
A morning routine helps you to cultivate feelings of peace, calm, joy, and love within. It also gives you the chance to create a mindset of strength, resilience, and stability, so no matter what external circumstances you encounter, you’ll be able to stay true to yourself and your path.
To help you create a morning routine that truly serves and supports your mind, body, and spirit, I’ve created a free morning routine checklist for manifesting your dreams and desires. This weekly checklist includes 11 activities you can easily incorporate into your morning routine to lift your vibration and start the day on a positive note.
And if you don’t have a lot of time, that’s okay! Many of these activities can be combined, and most take just a couple minutes at most to complete. Some, like expressing gratitude, you can do while showering, eating breakfast, and getting ready for your day.
Use this morning routine checklist to help you stay on track of your goals. You don’t have to do every single item on this list every day, but try to see if you can incorporate at least five items into your morning each day.
The very best thing you can do for yourself every morning is to embody a vibration of deep love, abundance, and gratitude for this life you get to live.
Allow yourself to believe deep within that you already have it all. You’re already successful. You’re already abundant. You’re already loved. You’re already everything you can imagine and so much more.
The small amount of time you spend on each of these practices will have long-lasting positive effects on your inner and outer worlds.
Below, I explain each item on the checklist in a little more detail so you know exactly how to incorporate it into your morning routine.
Morning Routine Checklist For Manifestation
Express Gratitude
Most of the items on this list aren’t things you have to do every single morning. However, if I had to pick one single thing that you should do daily for manifestation, it’s expressing gratitude.
Why? Gratitude and love are the highest vibrations. When you express gratitude, you’re essentially telling the Universe, “More of this please.”
So if you show appreciation for the money you already possess, you open yourself up to receiving more. If you show appreciation for your health, you allow more good health to flow to you. And if you express thankfulness for all the love you get to experience in your life, you open the door to receiving even more love, both from outside sources and from within.
Luckily, expressing gratitude doesn’t have to be a complicated practice. As you get ready in the morning, you can simply choose to focus on the aspects of your life that you love and appreciate. You might show your sincere thankfulness for this brand new day as soon as you wake up. You can also have a dedicated gratitude journal in which you write three things you’re grateful for each morning.
Recite Affirmations
Positive affirmations are empowering statements rooted in love, joy, and confidence. They’re designed to uplift and encourage while boosting your self-belief and supporting your mental and emotional well-being. Positive affirmations can also lift your vibration and help you get into receiving mode.
You can use positive affirmations in your manifestation morning routine in the same ways you express gratitude: repeat affirmations throughout your morning and write a few down you want to focus on for the day. To help you remember, you might leave post-its in visible spots throughout your house with uplifting affirmations written on them.
Journal
There are several ways you can journal for manifestation. My personal favorite is scripting. Scripting is the practice of writing about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest.
So if you want to manifest love, you might write about a day in your dream life with the love of your life. You could also write about the first time you meet your future partner or even your first date. The key is to write as though everything you want is happening right now in this present moment. (And also be sure to allow yourself to feel all of the positive emotions that come with it.)
Don’t have a lot of time in the morning for a long journal entry? That’s okay. You can combine several practices on this list for a quick five-minute journaling session. For instance, you could write down three things you’re grateful for, three positive affirmations, your daily intentions, and one small step you’ll take today to manifest your dreams. (I’ve made this easy for you with a free manifestation journal template that you can download and start using today.)

Meditate
Meditation itself is a powerful addition to your morning routine, whether it’s a mindfulness meditation or a dedicated manifestation meditation. A mindfulness meditation will allow you to ground yourself to the present moment and cultivate a sense of calm, peace, and stability. For a dedicated manifestation meditation, you can include visualization, affirmations, gratitude, releasing limiting beliefs, and letting go.
Visualize
Visualization can easily be incorporated into your meditation practice or tied in with your vision board. You don’t necessarily have to do a long visualization practice every day, but it can be helpful to practice visualization a few times a week.
You might visualize a day in your dream life, allowing yourself to experience it using all of your senses. You can also visualize specific scenarios, like getting the job of your dreams or an incredible first date. As you visualize, remember to feel all of the positive emotions associated with your visualization, and carry those good vibes with you as you step into your day.
Set Daily Intentions
Daily intentions are kind of like mini daily goals. Your intentions should align with your ultimate, overarching dream of who you want to be and how you want your life to look. You can set your intentions based on your specific circumstances of the day, or you can choose a more universal intention to focus on.
Here are a few examples of daily intentions to help you get started:
- Today, I will be present in every moment today.
- I will be my most authentic self in all moments.
- I will accomplish everything I focus on.
- I will accept all opportunities that come my way.
- In all moments, I will find things to be grateful for.
- I will be the highest version of myself.
- I will spread kindness in my words and actions.
Vision Board
A vision board is a collection of words and/or images that represent your highest self living your ideal life. Common components of a vision board might include your career, relationships, home, car, health, wealth, spirituality, lifestyle, hobbies, self-care activities, and anything that represents the life of your dreams. You can create a vision board on poster board, printer paper, a bulletin board, or even on your phone.
Take a few minutes in the morning to look at your vision board. Align with the positive emotions you associate with the images and words: love, freedom, joy, peace, abundance. Allow these feelings to permeate your cells so they’ll stay with you throughout your day.
Here are a couple posts to help you get started making your own powerful vision board:
- 30 Inspirational Vision Board Quotes (With Images)

Raise Vibration
Raising your vibration means to align yourself with the emotions of already having what you desire. Love, gratitude, joy, peace, and freedom are all positive emotions you can carry with you throughout the day. All of the practices on this morning routine checklist will help you with raising your vibration, but you might also include some additional practices that you know make you feel good. These practices could include reading a chapter of a book, listening to music or a podcast, or simply sitting down for breakfast with your family.
Laugh
If you have an extra minute or two, watch a funny YouTube video or find silly memes to send to your best friend. Start the day on a positive note!
Talk To The Universe
This is one of the most commonly overlooked aspects of manifestation: the simple act of talking to the Universe. Some people call it prayer, but you can also simply call it communicating.
How can the Universe help you today? Do you need a little extra strength? Could you use some reassurance that you’re on the right path? Do you need a sign of alignment or gentle nudge in the right direction?
Instead of keeping these thoughts and feelings within, tell the Universe what you need. You might be surprised at how quickly the Universe responds through signs, symbols, and loving messages.
Choose One Small Step To Take Today
This is another one of those simple yet overlooked practices that can make a profound difference in receiving your desired manifestations. An important part of manifestation is taking inspired action. This is action you take based on your intuition. (It should feel good and right deep within.)
Each day, you have the opportunity to take small steps toward your dreams. A small step could be creating a 30-day plan for one of your goals. It could mean sending an email to someone you hope will agree to be your mentor. It could mean dressing up in clothes that make you feel good and taking pictures for your dating profile.
This small step could truly be anything, as long as it comes from a place that feels right to you.
The all-or-nothing mentality can be tempting, but it can also quickly lead to burnout. Small steps aren’t as seductive, but just imagine this: if you take one small step a day for the next 30 days, in a month, you’ll be 30 steps ahead of where you are now.
Final Notes
At the top of the morning routine checklist, you’ll notice a section dedicated to choosing a word of the week. Here, choose a word that aligns with how you want to do, feel, or be throughout the week. Choose your word on the first morning of the new week, and don’t try to force anything. See if the word comes naturally to you.
Here are a few examples for words you might choose:
- Trust
- Allow
- Receive
- Align
- Peace
- Love
- Abundance
- Transformation
- Power
- Strength
- Create

44 Positive Affirmations For Stress, Worry, And Anxiety
In this post, discover 44 positive affirmations for stress, worry, anxiety, and overwhelm. Allow these uplifting affirmations to help you feel calm, strong, and empowered in all moments.
Responding to Stress
How often do you feel stressed in your daily life? Stress might arise from work pressure, personal relationships, financial hardship, and even the pressure you put on yourself to achieve. You might even feel it so regularly, you don’t actually notice it as being somehow wrong—it just feels like a normal part of your everyday world.
You can’t always make stressful situations go away, but trying to ignore the fact that you feel stressed is never the answer. If you know a little about chakras and energy healing, you know that trying to ignore heavy feelings doesn’t make them disappear; rather, this stagnant energy remains inside you. In time, this trapped energy will begin to manifest into even heavier emotions.
For instance, when you try to bury your stress, it might manifest into anger, or it could cause you to lose your courage and confidence.
So how can you respond to stress so that it doesn’t feel so overwhelming?
First, remember that in all moments, you are in control of your own energy. You have power over how you feel. This means that you can feel stress without giving it the power to control your thoughts and emotions.
I find it helpful to acknowledge my stress while also recognizing that I am not my stress. It may be something I feel, but it doesn’t define me.
In these moments, I often take a step back, practice a breathing exercise, and say, “I recognize that I feel stressed right now, and that’s okay. I’m going to be extra compassionate with myself right now.”
Journaling about my anxiety and stress has also been super helpful, as it allows me to probe the source of these feelings with non-judgmental awareness.
Finally, positive affirmations have been instrumental in helping me to remain calm, no matter what’s happening in the world around me.
What makes positive affirmations for stress helpful is that they allow you to feel your difficult and heavy emotions while reminding you that you have the power to rise above emotions that don’t serve or support your total well-being.
They also remind you of your deep courage, strength, and resilience. You can also use positive affirmations to cultivate inner peace and serenity, no matter what’s going on in the world around you.
Below, you’ll find 44 positive affirmations for stress, worry, and anxiety. Use these affirmations to take back control of your thoughts and emotions any time stress begins to feel overwhelming.

What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is non-judgmental, conscious awareness in the present moment. This means being aware of your own thoughts, feelings, and surroundings in the present moment without putting labels on any of it as right or wrong. Mindfulness is sometimes referred to as the art of noticing, as it doesn’t require anything from you except to simply notice.
Now, if this is still kind of unclear, that’s okay. Let’s break it down a little further.
- Lack of Judgment: As humans, we experience a range of thoughts and emotions throughout our lives. Sometimes, we experience this spectrum in a single day. Anger, fear, sadness, pain, anxiety, and stress are emotions we often call negative. Likewise, we may have thoughts that we deem to be wrong or bad. The key to mindfulness is to not judge ourselves for our thoughts and emotions. Simply observe. If you notice that a thought you’re having doesn’t align with what feels good and true to you, you can take this moment to realign with your truth.
- Conscious Awareness: This means that you recognize your thoughts, words, and actions as you’re thinking, speaking, and acting. This is the opposite of the “autopilot” mode we all fall into once in a while. Conscious awareness is taking a step back, recognizing the autopilot mode, and choosing how to think and feel in this moment. (Again, when you catch yourself in autopilot mode, don’t judge yourself. It’s perfectly normal.)
- Returning to the Present Moment: I think about the past a lot. I also think about the future a lot. And that’s okay. I can also recognize that the only real thing in the world is this moment right now. You can think about the past and future, but don’t live there. Live in this moment. That’s what mindfulness does for us; it allows us to honor and recognize the beauty, value, and importance of this moment right now.
Mindfulness is knowing that nothing about this moment is wrong. Nothing is a mistake. It is exactly as it is. And if you don’t like how you’re feeling or what you’re experiencing in this moment, notice and see if you can realign with something that feels better. But don’t judge yourself for being human.

Pillow Method For Manifestation (A Complete Guide)
In this article, discover how to use the pillow method to manifest your desires. Plus, learn about tools and resources to help protect and lift your energy, amplify your intentions, and create the life of your dreams.
Disclaimer: This post contains Amazon links. As an Amazon associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. If you purchase a product using my link, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
What Is The Pillow Method For Manifestation?
The pillow method is one of the simplest and most straightforward manifestation games you can regularly practice to help you create the life you desire. This is a great practice for new and experienced manifestors alike, as you can choose how in-depth with this method you want to go.
So how do you practice the pillow manifestation method?
These are the most basic directions: write an affirmation on a piece of paper and place that paper under your pillow for a set amount of days. Let that affirmation be the last thing you think about as you fall asleep, allowing it to sink into your subconscious brain. Let go, surrender control, and allow the Universe to deliver your manifestation in your physical experience.
Now, if you stopped right there, you’d have enough information to try this manifestation method tonight. But to get the most out of this practice, there are a few additional steps you can take (that really don’t take much additional time at all).
In this article, you’ll learn how to write effective affirmations for the pillow method as well as how to incorporate scripting into your nightly manifestation routine. Plus, I’ll share some of my favorite resources that you can use today to amplify your manifestation practice.

How To Write Affirmations For The Pillow Method
The affirmations you write for this manifestation method aren’t the typical mindset affirmations you often hear, such as “I am worthy.” (Though you absolutely can write mindset affirmations and place them under for your pillow to positively influence your subconscious beliefs.)
For the pillow method, you’re going to use what I typically refer to as future pacing affirmations.
These are affirmations in which you state that the thing you want to manifest is already yours.
For instance, if you want to manifest financial prosperity, you might write something like, “Financial abundance continually flows my way through multiple streams of income.”
You could also write, “I am financially free with a limitless abundance of wealth and prosperity.”
Likewise, if you want to manifest love, you might write, “I am in a committed, loving relationship with a partner who truly cherishes and adores me.”
To manifest a job, you could write, “I am in my dream job, making a positive difference in people’s lives and doing what I love every single day.” (If there’s a specific job you want, then replace “dream job” with the title of your ideal position.)
Here are the keys to writing a successful affirmation to use for the pillow method:
- Use present tense statements such as I am, I feel, and I have – not “I will be . . .”
- Choose something that feels truly good to you and you believe wholeheartedly that you can manifest. Don’t write, “I am a millionaire,” if you don’t truly believe this is possible for you. Take baby steps as you reprogram your subconscious beliefs, and do any necessary healing within. Maybe one day, you will be able to write those four words, but don’t force it right now if it doesn’t feel good to you.
- If you’re a beginner, try not to be too rigid with the timeframe. Again, at some point, you might be able to include a timeframe in your affirmation. But I’ve found that when you’re just starting out, putting a timeframe on your manifestation can make you so preoccupied and stressed about the self-imposed deadline that you can’t simply relax and allow the manifestation to unfold naturally.
Incorporating Scripting Into The Pillow Method
Another practice I like to incorporate into the pillow method is scripting. Scripting is the practice of writing about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest. It’s similar to the future pacing affirmations I described above, but instead of writing one sentence, you’re writing paragraphs dedicated to immersing yourself in the life of your dreams.
For instance, you can script what it feels like to walk through a day in your dream life. You can also script as though you’re writing a journal entry. In your journal entry, imagine that it’s the end of the day, and you’re living the life of your dreams. How did you feel when you woke up today? Where were you? What did you do and who did you interact with throughout your day? Describe it all in detail, using all of your senses.
To incorporate scripting into your pillow method, think about what you want to manifest. Then, script what your life would look like if you already had this thing. Describe it in full detail, allowing yourself to feel all the positive emotions of having your desire in the present moment.
In the energy of love and gratitude, place your script under the pillow. Before you fall asleep at night, take a moment to once again visualize having your desires right now. Feel positive energy flowing through you: love, gratitude, joy, freedom, peace, and true abundance.
To learn more, you can read my article about scripting and get a free PDF scripting template. And for more help getting started, here are some scripting examples for inspiration.

How Long Should You Keep Your Affirmation Under Your Pillow?
There are a lot of differing opinions here. Some people say to continue to keep your affirmation or script under your pillow until your manifestation comes true. Some say 7 or 8 days. I’ve also seen recommendations of less and more time.
At the end of the day, you’re empowered to do what feels right to you. My personal belief is that you shouldn’t just continue to keep your piece of paper under your pillow until it comes true.
Why?
Because then you’re never truly letting it go.
And this is a key component to manifesting your desires: letting go, releasing your dreams to the Universe, and trusting that everything is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to.
For this reason, I generally recommend keeping your note under your pillow for 7 to 10 days. This gives you enough time to allow this desired manifestation to become an inextricable part of you without clinging too tightly for too long.
Again, though, I urge you to do what feels right. Don’t worry too much about arbitrary rules and guidelines. Follow your inner knowing.
Other Resources To Use To Amplify Your Practice
For the pillow method to work, all you truly need is a writing device and something to write on. The magic of this practice doesn’t come from outside of yourself; it comes from you. More than anything, I want you to embrace your own inner magic and not rely too much on outside materials. A plain piece of notebook paper works just as well as fancy stationary—it only matters what makes you feel good.
That said, I’ve added a few items here that I personally use and find helpful in amplifying my manifestations. Again, none of these things can come close to matching the power you possess within. What these items do is amplify and support your goals, protect you from negative energy, and help you to cultivate more positive energy in your inner and outer worlds. (And maybe bring you a little bit of luck.)
Crystals & Gemstones
I’m a big proponent of crystals, not just for manifestation but for supporting your entire health and well-being: mind, body, and soul. At all times, I have Citrine, Green Jade, Black Tourmaline, and Blue Lace Agate rings on as well as a Clear Quartz bracelet. I sleep with Amethyst on my nightstand. There’s Pyrite on my desk, and just a few feet away from my desk is a collection of over a dozen crystals and gemstones.
I’ve found that using crystals in my daily routine just makes me feel better. They protect my energy and help me to approach each day with a sense of calm, clarity, and confidence.
If you’re using the pillow method for manifestation, it definitely never hurts to incorporate a few crystals and gemstones into your routine. After cleansing and charging your crystals with your intentions, keep them on your nightstand as you sleep.
Here’s a brief rundown of crystals you can use depending on what you want to manifest. In this article, I go more in depth on using crystals for manifestation.
- Love: Rose Quartz, Rhodonite
- Wealth: Citrine, Pyrite
- Health: Garnet, Bloodstone
- Creativity: Carnelian
- Success: Green Jade, Aventurine
Manifestation Oils
Manifestation oils are specialized blends of essential oils and herbs formulated to aid you in manifesting your desires. There are lots of ways you can use manifestation oils: add a drop to a piece of jewelry, your vision board, a dollar bill, a photograph or letter, or another object that represents your desires and intentions. You can also add a drop to your body; just make sure the product you’re using is safe to use for this purpose.
For the pillow method, you can add a drop of your chosen manifestation oil to your piece of paper before placing it under your pillow. I personally use manifestation oils because they help to lift my energy so I’m more open to receiving guidance and answers from the Universe. I’ve also found that they tend to bring me an extra dash of luck, which is always welcome. (And they also smell really good.)
I’m a big fan of Art of the Root products, which you can find here.
Recap
The pillow method is a simple yet profound method for manifesting your desires. To follow this method, here are the basic steps:
- Decide what you want to manifest.
- Create a powerful future pacing affirmation rooted in your desire. Conversely, you can also use an entire scripting entry here. Write this affirmation or scripting entry on a piece of paper.
- Place the piece of paper under your pillow.
- Before you fall asleep at night, visualize having your desire in the present moment, feeling all the positive emotions of having what you want to manifest.
- Continue for 7 to 10 days, or until it feels right to remove it.
- Let go. Surrender control to the Universe. Trust.

40 Positive Affirmations for Overcoming Challenges
In this post, discover 40 positive affirmations for overcoming challenges, facing adversity, and getting through hard times with dignity and grace. Use these affirmations to guide you in your journey and help you to find your inner courage during all seasons of your life.
Facing Challenges and Adversity
I use positive affirmations often throughout my day, but I’ve found that the times I need them the most is when I’m facing a challenge or difficult situation. However, in order for a positive affirmation to truly help me with the challenge I’m facing, I can’t just say something positive; I have to truly feel it in my bones.
What does this mean?
Let’s say you wake up knowing that today’s going to be a particularly difficult day. You look at yourself in the mirror, take a deep breath, and say, “I have all the tools I need to handle anything that comes my way today.”
These words alone won’t help you—not if you don’t truly believe them.
And beyond that, you have to live them as well.
That means that when you’re dealing with obstacles and challenges, instead of giving in to the negative feelings that weigh down on you, you have to go back to your empowering words. Repeat them. Feel them deep within.
I have all the tools I need to handle anything that comes my way today.
I am strong, capable, and competent.
I’ve got this.
But it doesn’t stop here.
Because it isn’t really just about “handling” or “getting through” obstacles and roadblocks.
It’s about knowing in your heart that these hard times are serving some kind of purpose. It’s about being willing to receive the lessons that the difficult moments can teach you. It’s about discovering the beauty that can be found in life’s messy moments.
And it’s also about trusting that if things aren’t working out the way you want them to, it’s often because something better is coming.
To be clear, this doesn’t mean you should engage in toxic positivity. You don’t have to force yourself to pretend that the hardships don’t hurt.
One of the most profound experiences I’ve encountered over the last several years was when I was going through a rough patch, and I found myself crying daily, feeling sad and lost and uncertain about my future.
I allowed myself to feel all of that pain, but even in the sadness, I still had deep trust that everything would work out for me. I knew in my heart that I would become stronger for this experience. I gave myself permission to explore the depths of my emotions fully while still knowing that the universe would support me and have my back no matter what.
After walking through that experience with faith and trust, I became a little less afraid of future challenges and roadblocks. I knew that in some way, every experience I encountered was a gift, no matter how heavy the world often felt.
I believe we’re all capable of handling so much more than we realize. You are so much stronger and braver and more powerful than you know. You have the ability to face any obstacle, and you also have the ability to step back and discover how your greatest challenges can often be your greatest gifts.
Below are 40 positive affirmations for overcoming challenges, facing adversity, and walking through hard times with dignity and grace. I hope these affirmations remind you that you are strong, capable, and resilient, and that you are capable of meeting all challenges with faith, courage, and undeniable resilience.

How To Practice Gratitude (For Law Of Attraction)
In this article, learn how to practice gratitude, with a special emphasis on how gratitude can help you in the Law of Attraction as you set out to manifest your dreams and desires. Discover powerful methods, tips, and more to help you vibrate at the frequency of genuine gratitude and appreciation.
What Is The Law Of Attraction?
The foundation of the Law of Attraction is the idea that the energy you put out into the world is what you get back in return. This is intrinsically tied to the concept of manifestation, which is when you intentionally put out the energy of what you want to receive more of in your life. In manifestation terms, you’ll hear this referred to as vibrating at the frequency of your desires.
For instance, let’s say you want to manifest romantic love. You’re ready to settle down and find the one person you can commit to and share your life with.
Before, you might’ve felt like you weren’t truly lovable until you found that person. Essentially, you waited until love appeared in your life before you felt the positive emotions associated with love.
But in manifestation, you don’t wait until your desire appears before you finally start feeling these positive emotions. Instead, you allow yourself to feel these positive emotions right now in this present moment. How do you imagine feeling when your future partner appears in your life? Will they make you feel loved, respected, and treasured?
What would happen if you allowed yourself to feel loved, respected, and treasured right now instead of waiting?
This is the essence of manifestation.
Now, let’s take it a step further. The most profound way to receive more love in your life is to give more love. Walk through your life with an open heart. Express love through your actions. Be the embodiment of love in your words and feelings.
This isn’t limited to manifesting love, though. Do you want to manifest more success? Become the embodiment of success in your everyday world. Do you want to manifest financial wealth? Allow yourself to feel financially wealthy now. Walk into every life experience as though you are pure abundance.
There’s a great quote by an anonymous source that sums up the essence of manifestation and the Law of Attraction perfectly:
“What you think, you create. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you become.”

Gratitude & The Law Of Attraction
So why is gratitude so important when it comes to the Law of Attraction?
Simply put, gratitude and love are the highest vibrations you can tap into. (Other powerful positive vibrations include joy, empowerment, and freedom.)
When you can tap into any of these feelings, you’re vibrating at the highest frequencies available to you. Essentially, you become a magnet for experiences that bring you more joy, love, empowerment, freedom, and gratitude.
But gratitude in particular is especially powerful, and here’s why:
- Gratitude invites an abundance mentality. Through the lens of gratitude, you view your life in terms of all that you have, not all that you lack.
- When you express gratitude for all that you have, you’re essentially saying, “More of this please.” Expressing gratitude for the love that exists in your life invites more love to come forward. Expressing gratitude for the money you possess (even if it’s not a lot by other people’s standards) opens you up to receiving more money. It’s like putting an order into the Universe: “This is what I have that I really appreciate, and I’m open to receiving more of it.”
- Gratitude erases feelings of desperation, frustration, and hopelessness. It can instantly lift you into a higher vibration in a way that most other feelings can’t. For instance, if you’re feeling frustrated, it’s really hard to tap into joy in that moment. But if you meet your frustration halfway by saying, “I’m frustrated by this experience, but I know there’s still so much in my life to be grateful for,” it becomes a little easier to lift your vibration.
How To Practice Gratitude
So what are the best methods for practicing gratitude when it comes to the Law of Attraction? There are lots of ways to practice gratitude, but the key to each method is sincerity. You can write down a couple things in your life you feel grateful for each morning, but are you doing it with a sincere heart? Or are you simply writing these things down because it’s what you think you’re “supposed” to do?
One way to help you practice sincere gratitude is to include a “why” statement for each thing you acknowledge. This is helpful because it prompts you to truly think about how this thing is making a profound difference in your life.
Here are some examples of how to do this:
- I am grateful for my best friend because she always tells me exactly what I need to hear.
- I am grateful for my home because it offers warmth, protection, and security.
- I am grateful for my strong legs because they allow me to walk, run, hike, dance, and move my body in ways that feel good to me.
Sincerity is the key to practicing gratitude when it comes to the Law of Attraction. Don’t simply acknowledge what you’re grateful for with empty words. Feel the depth of your gratitude deep within. Let it shine from the inside out and blanket every cell of your being.
Methods For Practicing Gratitude
Here are some ways you can start your own gratitude practice to help you manifest even more incredible people, things, and experiences to be grateful for:
- Write down one to three things you feel sincerely grateful for each morning.
- Keep a gratitude journal. (Here are 53 gratitude journal prompts to help you discover reasons to be thankful as you cultivate true joy within.)
- Recite positive affirmations based in gratitude.
- Create phone notifications to go off at random times during the day. Each time you see one of these notifications, pause and think about something you feel grateful for in this moment.
- Verbally express gratitude to the people in your life regularly. This includes people you know personally (family, friends, coworkers) as well as other people you interact with (baristas, cashiers, waiters, bank tellers).
Tips For Practicing Gratitude To Manifest Your Desires
Tip #1: Express gratitude for your manifestations before they’ve actually arrived in your present experience
Don’t wait until you’ve received your desired manifestations to begin feeling grateful for them. Feel grateful for them right now, just as you will on the day when they actually come true.
Why does this work? You may have heard of the phrase, “Live as if.” Manifestation is all about vibrating at the frequency of your desires, and there’s no better way to do that than to live each day as if all of your dreams have already come true.
Feeling gratitude in advance directly correlates with the idea of living as if. If you’re constantly living in lack, waiting for something to happen and focusing on its absence, you disconnect yourself from the experience of having that thing. But when you live as if your dreams have already come true, you feel true gratitude and appreciation for this life of your dreams.
And because of this, you’re no longer searching for that thing out there; it’s within. And when it’s within, you’re directly connected to that thing.
Connect yourself to the life of your dreams by expressing sincere gratitude and appreciation for the abundance that already exists within. When you do this, you become a magnet for even more enriching experiences to enter your life.
Tip #2: Express gratitude for challenges, obstacles, and negative experiences
This is where the real magic happens.
These experiences are your opportunities for growth. This is how you build resilience. Every single negative experience is providing you with a lesson you need to hear. Choosing gratitude in these moments is going to help you learn the lesson a lot faster than choosing frustration or anger.
Your life will radically transform when you begin to understand how these experiences aren’t happening to you; they’re happening for you. (And the next step? As you become more and more conscious of your thoughts and inner state, experiences begin to happen through you.)
Want to practice this now? Next time you’re driving and have to stop at a red light, inhale deeply and feel grateful for the opportunity to pause. When you’re stuck in a slow-moving line at the grocery store, stand still and allow yourself to feel appreciation for this moment in your life. Find normal, everyday experiences that usually bring you frustration, and consciously choose to feel gratitude instead.
Nothing changes your life more than your perspective. When you shift your perspective and understand the power of your thoughts, you master your inner world.
And when you master your inner world, you master your life.

33 Profound Spiritual Healing Quotes To Guide Your Path
In this article, discover 33 beautiful and profound spiritual healing quotes to guide your path, help you embrace your inner divinity, and gently bring you back home to yourself when you’re feeling lost. Let these quotes comfort, uplift, and light your way forward as you heal, nourish, and grow.
Spiritual Healing
Spiritual healing is the process of letting go of everything you aren’t in order to embrace what you are. It’s a path that leads you to uncovering the divinity that exists within yourself. And it’s a journey rooted in connection: connection with others, with love, with the universe, and with your own soul.
For each of us, spiritual healing is a journey that brings us back home to ourselves when we’re feeling lost. It’s often a process of releasing, embracing, expanding, transforming, and sometimes just being.
And it’s a reminder that you are your own greatest healer. You are your greatest guide. The answers you seek are always within.
Below, discover 33 profound spiritual healing quotes to guide your path. These quotes are meant to help you love both the darkness and light within and gently lead you back home to yourself.
Some quotes may resonate more than others in this moment. That’s completely okay. For now, take what you need.
In the future, when you’re in a different place in your spiritual journey, you might come back and see if a different quote resonates and reveals something new for you.
And if you’re feeling spiritually lost, know that it’s okay, too. Sometimes, being lost isn’t such a bad thing. The best thing you can do for yourself in this moment is to ask, “What does my soul need right now?”
Then, whatever the answer is, go there. Give yourself what you need. Lean into love.
