How To Protect Your Energy (7 Essential Practices)
In this post, learn how to protect your energy with 7 simple yet profound practices. Plus, get positive affirmations for protecting your energy and images you can save for later!
Protecting Your Energy
One of the greatest self-care practices you can do on a daily basis is to protect your energy.
But what exactly does this mean?
Protecting your energy means choosing how you think and feel rather than allowing outside forces to dictate your thoughts and emotions.
It means that no matter what’s happening in the outer world, you’re able to cultivate a beautiful inner world through your own thoughts, beliefs, and choices.
And it means being true to your authentic self and not hiding or denying a single part of yourself for anything or anyone.
Finally, it also means holding yourself accountable. For instance, if you’re in a group that’s gossiping about someone you know, you have the choice to engage in the gossip or step away. At all times, you can ask yourself, what action best serves my positive energy?
Another question I like to ask is, what path feels most like love to me?
For the example above, if love feels like walking away from gossip, then that’s the best thing you can do in that moment to protect your energy. Because ultimately, the best energy protector is love itself.
Love might feel like morning meditations. It might feel like a walk in nature. It may feel like spending every Wednesday night alone, practicing self-care.
In all instances, you can choose the path that feels like love to support and protect your divine energy.
Below, I’ve listed seven powerful practices you can incorporate into your daily life to protect your energy. These practices range from using crystals and water as an energy purifier to taking social media breaks and setting loving boundaries. I encourage you to find the practices that resonate the most and begin to use them each day to protect your whole self: mind, body, and soul.
And again, because it can’t be emphasized enough:
The greatest way to protect your energy is to follow the path that feels like love.
Love will always protect you. Love will always heal you. Love is your superpower.

Affirmations
Protecting your energy from external toxicity all starts with your mindset.
While all of the practices on this list are powerful in helping you to protect your energy, nothing is as powerful as knowing that you are in control of your thoughts and that you’re the only one who gets to choose how you feel.
That’s why I’m putting affirmations at the top of this list. Using positive affirmations (and truly believing them!) is a powerful way to own your energy and decide how you want to feel in any given moment.
When I first started using affirmations, I used them all the time: when I woke up, as I got ready in the morning, while I worked out, as I was driving, while I cooked dinner, as I got ready for bed, and anytime the opportunity presented itself to embrace positive thinking.
Eventually, though, this practice lessened: not because I suddenly forgot about affirmations but because the powerful words had become a part of me.
I no longer had to constantly affirm that I was worthy because I knew in every cell of my being that I was undeniably and unconditionally worthy, no matter what.
That’s why affirmations can be so powerful when it comes to protecting your energy. In the beginning, you may need to remind yourself to repeat them, but in time, the powerful, protective words will become a part of you.
Below, you’ll find a list of affirmations for protecting your energy. You can also find more protection affirmations to guard your energy in this post.
Affirmations for Protecting Your Energy

- I am the only one who gets to choose how I feel.
- I am choosing to feel grounded, calm, peaceful, and secure.
- I am safe and supported, rooted in this present moment.
- I have the power to rise above negative emotions that do not serve me.
- Even when the world around me feels chaotic, I remain rooted firmly to the ground.
- When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I allow myself space to pause and breathe.
- I vibrate powerful, abundant, peaceful energy and attract this same energy in return.
- I am strong, steady, and grounded.
- I am always supported and protected.
- I deeply appreciate my ability to remain calm and peaceful in all situations.
- I am grateful for the abundance of strength that radiates throughout my entire body.
Crystals
Crystals are a powerful resources for protecting your energy and helping you to remain grounded, stable, and secure.
My personal favorite way to use crystals for energy protection is to wear them as jewelry, as this allows me to remain protected throughout the day, no matter where I go. I also like to keep protective stones in spaces where I know I might encounter some negative external energy, such as in my workspace and in the car. And if you’re doing an energy protection meditation, holding protective gemstones in your hands while meditating can be a powerful way to amplify your intentions.
To learn more about how to cleanse, program, and use crystals, you can check out my blog post on how to use crystals here.
Here’s a list of crystals and stones you can wear, carry, or keep in your space to protect you from toxic energy:
- Hematite
- Obsidian
- Onyx
- Black Tourmaline
- Shungite
If you want to learn more about the specific meanings of each stone, I’ve got you covered in this article on grounding crystals for stability and energy protection.
Water
For centuries, various cultures and religions have used water as a way to cleanse, purify, heal, and help one reach spiritual enlightenment. Don’t underestimate the power of water to cleanse your aura from toxic energy. Just like water can cleanse the energy of a crystal, water can cleanse your own energy both within and outside of you in a profound way.
Ideally, you’d be able to spend time at the ocean or near a lake or river whenever you need a spiritual reset. But if that isn’t possible, that’s okay! A shower or a bath works just as well in cleansing your energy.
One of my favorite practices is to meditate in the shower by imagining the water washing away any negativity within or around me. This practice only takes a minute or two but can positively affect your energy throughout your day.
First, close your eyes. Take a deep, soulful inhale and a rejuvenating exhale. Concentrate on how the water feels on your skin. As the water falls around you, imagine it washing away any negative thoughts and emotions you’re holding onto. The water takes your tension and carries it to the drain. Anything that doesn’t serve your highest good is washed away from your body.
Feel your body becoming lighter. Your mind is clear. Your heart is open. Anything that doesn’t serve or support your total well-being has been washed away, swirling down the drain, where it will be cleansed by the earth.
When you’re done, smile and express gratitude. Feel the strength of your body, mind, and spirit.
You are worthy, powerful, whole, and more than enough. Carry those feelings with you throughout your day.

Visualization
When you feel like you’re surrounded by negative energy, visualization can be a profound way to replace any negativity in your auric field with positivy, protection, and love.
While you may associate visualization exercises with meditation, you can actually take a moment to practice visualization almost anytime during the day.
For instance, let’s say that you’re at work, and the energy of your coworkers, employees, and/or customers feels especially negative today. People are stressed and blaming each other for mistakes. The air around you feels tense, and that tension is starting to seep into your body, mind, and spirit.
Take a moment to step back from the outer world. Close your eyes. Imagine a beautiful light is surrounding your entire body. This light might be white, gold, purple, or any other color that resonates with you. See that light protecting your body from any negative external energy that tries to seep in. Visualize yourself walking through your day, being protected by this light at all times.
Know that you are always, always being divinely guided and protected. No amount of toxic energy can break through the loving shield of the Universe.
Breathing Exercises
A breathing exercise is conscious, purposeful breathing with the intention of calming the mind, relieving stress, improving your lung function, and grounding yourself to the present moment.
What I love about breathing exercises is that it feels like a mini-meditation that you can do practically anytime and anywhere.
Breathing exercises can be powerful practices to protect your energy because they allow you to step back from the external world and return to your inner self. And when you return to your inner self, you can release the stress and overwhelm of the outer world and cultivate a sense of calmness, peace, and groundedness within.
My personal favorite breathing exercise is alternate nostril breathing, which you can read more about here.
Another simple yet powerful practice is the 4-7-8 breathing technique. In this practice, you inhale through your nose for 4 seconds, pause at the top of your inhale for 7 seconds, and exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds. Repeat this 4 to 8 times in a session.
Often, at the end of a breathing exercise, I’ll recite a few grounding affirmations to affirm that I’m in control of my thoughts and emotions. You don’t have to do this, but if you want, you can give it a try and see if this practice resonates with you.
For more examples of breathing exercises, you can check out this article from Healthline here.
Social Media Breaks
I don’t believe social media is universally good or bad; I think it’s all in how we use it and what kind of people/accounts we choose to connect with.
In my experience, social media can be a beautiful platform for connecting with incredible souls, receiving positive messages, and creating a community based in love, kindness, compassion, and support. I think the use of social media has served my growth in many ways, especially in the past year.
But there have also been many, many times when I’ve needed to step back and take a break from it all.
I won’t go too in depth on the dangers of social media here, because I think it’s likely you’ve heard most of the arguments against it: it can be a highlight reel of people’s best moments, causing you to somehow think your life is “less than” because you don’t have everything another person has.
It’s also easy to get trapped in the belief that likes and follows somehow have any kind of impact on your worthiness (which is 100% not true).
And even if you only follow positive accounts, you might start to think that you’re supposed to be a positive, upbeat person 100% of the time, which also isn’t true.
Taking regular social media breaks is necessary for protecting your energy in the long-term. Like I said, I believe there are a lot of really great aspects of social media, and in most cases, I don’t think it’s necessary to delete it entirely.
But I do recommend scheduling social media breaks into your calendar. Also take non-scheduled breaks when you start to feel like social media is becoming an energy depleter instead of an energy restorer.
And if there’s an account that makes you feel less than or causes you to feel negative or toxic energy within?
Unfollow.
Choose to consciously curate your social media feed to best support your mind, body, and spirit.
Set Boundaries
Boundaries.
For most of us, this is likely the hardest practice on this list.
Whether it’s in your personal or professional life, setting boundaries can be a difficult practice because it often requires having uncomfortable conversations. What helps me in this situation is to ask myself, what’s more uncomfortable? Having a conversation about boundaries, or not setting boundaries and continuing to live in a state of frustration, anger, and/or overwhelm?
If you’re feeling hurt or resentful about something, then 10 times out of 10, the best thing you can do to heal your energy is to set boundaries.
However hard it may feel, it is possible to make the practice of setting boundaries a little easier. How do you do this? By stepping forward in the energy of love.
Often, we imagine conversations about boundaries to be hard, serious, and even negative. However, it is possible to approach this act with love and compassion for everyone involved. I recommend writing down your thoughts before having this conversation and scheduling time when you can have a calm conversation with the person or people you’re setting boundaries with.
In other words, try to approach this with a sense of clarity and calm rather than letting yourself get consumed by the heat of the moment and potentially saying something you’ll regret later.
Also remember, boundaries aren’t always about another person. Often, they’re about what you need. For instance, maybe you need one night a week to yourself without any interruptions. This may mean that you need to set a boundary that Wednesday nights are your nights. By dedicating this time to yourself, you’ll actually be able to show up better the rest of the week for the people in your life.
So remember, boundaries aren’t a negative thing. They’re a way you can show love to yourself, which ultimately will positively affect all aspects or your life.

50 Positive Workout Affirmations To Affirm Your Strength
Mindset is key when it comes to working out, and these positive workout affirmations are designed to empower and motivate you before, during, and after your workout! Below, discover 50 positive workout affirmations to affirm your undeniable strength, power, and resilience. Plus, learn how to overcome “gymtimidation” so you can step into the gym with courage and confidence.
Positive Workout Affirmations
Want to skip straight to the affirmations? Click here. Or skip ahead to learn about seven powerful ways for overcoming “gymtimidation” here!
If you’ve ever set out to start a consistent exercise routine, you know that the hardest part of the workout often isn’t physical; it’s your own mental barriers that can hold you back from reaching the success you’re capable of achieving.
I’ve run one full marathon and four half marathons. I’ve gone on hikes that required me to climb thousands of feet of elevation. I’ve lifted weights I didn’t think I could lift, and I’ve stretched and moved my body in ways I didn’t think was possible.
And while clearly, my body played an integral role in achieving these feats, I needed more than just my body to get me through the longest miles and toughest climbs; I needed that voice in my mind repeating over and over again, yes I can.
On the flip side, I’ve also abandoned runs a mile or two in because my brain just couldn’t get into it, even when I felt rested and strong. And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stopped in the middle of a set or skipped stretching, just because I didn’t feel like it.
Know that I’m not judging myself for these moments, because they were all powerful learning experiences. I know that consistency always beats perfection, so it’s okay to be imperfect sometimes as long as I keep growing and showing up for myself as best as I can.
Mindset is key in all that we do, including working out. If I tell myself that I can’t run one more mile, then that becomes my truth, whether or not my body was actually capable of going farther.
I’ve found that reciting positive affirmations and empowering mantras to myself has been key in harnessing the power of my mindset when I work out. However, what I say to myself before my workout is different than what I say during my workout, and both are different from what I say after my workout.
So I’ve divided the affirmations below into pre-workout, during workout, and post-workout affirmations. The pre-workout affirmations are designed to empower you to show up and choose to exercise from a place of self-love and self-respect. The post-workout affirmations are to help you affirm that you absolutely did enough, no matter what, and also to gently remind you to prioritize rest and recovery.
You’ll notice that the affirmations that are designed for you to recite during your workout are a little shorter, and that’s because I’ve found that when I’m exercising, I tend be more motivated by short and punchy phrases than long sentences. They’re a lot easier to remember, too!
I encourage you to use these positive workout affirmations from a place of total love for yourself, knowing you are strong, powerful, and more than enough.
And be sure to stick around after the affirmations to discover seven powerful tips for overcoming “gymtimidation” and hitting the gym with confidence!
A Quick Note
Please know that the words above and the affirmations below are not meant to guilt you into working out, ESPECIALLY if your body is tired and needs rest and recovery time. Honor your body by listening to it and giving it the care it needs. If you’ve already carved out time to workout but know that you need to rest, I wholeheartedly recommend using the time to do a loving self-care practice that will realign the energy of your mind, body, and spirit.

7 Ways To Boost Your Confidence At The Gym
Going to the gym can be a vulnerable experience. You might look around and think everyone else knows exactly what they’re doing, while you’re not even sure where to start. Maybe you even worry that other gym-goers are judging you.
This feeling of fear and anxiety about working out in front of others has been termed “gymtimidation.” If you struggle with this anxiety, you’re not alone. Many of the people you see confidently taking up space in the gym suffered from gymtimidation at one point, and maybe they still do, even if they don’t show it.
There are several ways to overcome your fears and hit the gym with confidence, which we’ll explore below.
- Stick To A Routine
Rather than going to the gym every once in a while, you’ll want to build trips to the gym into your daily routine. Stick to a schedule that works for you and visit the gym consistently in order to make exercise a healthy habit.
- Focus On Yourself
Oftentimes, anxiety at the gym results from worries about whether other people are judging you. However, it’s important to remember that the people around you are usually 100% focused on their own workouts. Let the fear of judgment melt away and concentrate on your own goals.
- Get Advice
If you don’t know how to perform a certain exercise or use a particular machine, ask a floor manager or a fitness trainer for advice. They’ll be able to give you quick guidance that will help you feel prepared and confident in your gym knowledge.
- Build Strength At Home
It can sometimes be easier to hit the gym when you’ve already learned the basics and built up strength. Try watching exercise tutorials at home and perfecting your form in the mirror. That way, you’ll feel more ready to hit the gym.
- Listen To Music
According to Scientific American, “Music distracts people from pain and fatigue” and “elevates mood.” Creating an empowering workout playlist can help you feel confident and stay focused when exercising at the gym. You can either choose from the variety of pre-made workout playlists available online or customize your own.
- Bring A Friend
Getting a workout buddy can make trips to the gym feel a lot less intimidating. This is because buddying up gives you a friendly face in an otherwise new and potentially intimidating environment. Your gym buddy can also help you stay accountable and crush your fitness goals.
- Find A Gym That Suits You
Make sure the gym you pick is one you genuinely enjoy. Especially if you’re new to the gym scene, you’ll want to choose a place with a supportive culture and plenty of equipment for a range of experience levels.
Joining a gym can be scary. However, these tips should help you build the confidence you need to meet your fitness goals.

35 Empowering Affirmations For Self-Belief
In this article, discover 35 empowering affirmations for self-belief and self-confidence. Use these affirmations to guide you in your journey and help you to embrace your undeniable and infinite worthiness.
What Are Affirmations?
Chances are, even if you’ve never practiced using positive affirmations, you’ve encountered them in some form of media – maybe when you were scrolling through your Instagram or Pinterest feeds or reading a book dedicated to self-development and personal growth.
The word “affirmation” gets used frequently in popular media, so it’s important to take a moment to break it down and truly understand what it means.
So then – what exactly is an affirmation?
An affirmation is any type of declarative statement that you say or think and are essentially affirming to be true.
So if you state, “This traffic is making me miserable,” or “This person is driving me crazy,” those are declarations that you’re affirming to be true, even if you don’t actually want to be miserable or crazy.
Most of the time, though, when we talk about affirmations, we’re referring to positive affirmations.
A positive affirmation is a positive affirming statement that’s designed to boost your self-belief and support your overall well-being: mind, body, and soul.
Affirmations can be used proactively or reactively. You might have a list of positive affirmations that you repeat while you get ready in the morning to set the foundation for a good day.
You might also use affirmations when you’re starting to feel negative and pessimistic in order to let go of your heavy energy and realign with what matters most to you.
However you use them, affirmations can be a powerful tool in helping you to love, embrace, and accept yourself exactly as you are right now.
Why Use Affirmations?
You know how eating a sugary treat lights up the reward circuits in your brain? Well, using positive affirmations activates these circuits, too, which can ultimately help in lessening pain and keeping your cool when things go wrong.
Using positive affirmations can also decrease stress. Stress has been known to increase one’s likelihood of depression and can result in digestive issues and sleep problems, among other long-term side effects.
Furthermore, the use of affirmations can help to increase your problem-solving abilities when under pressure.
Personally, I use empowering affirmations because they make me feel good. They’ve also been a way for me to take back my story and become the conscious creator of my own life.
For years, my brain’s default setting was pointed toward negativity when it came to how I viewed myself. It wasn’t that I inherently disliked myself; it’s just that I tended to believe the worst rather than the best.
Whenever I entered a room full of people, I assumed they would all immediately shun me. I told myself the story that I was never good enough. Never pretty enough. Never outgoing enough. Instead of focusing on the positive, my mind amplified the negative (and often believed things that weren’t even true).
I’ve known about affirmations for years, but I’d never actually opened myself up to accepting them into my life until I began meditating regularly. Actually, the oldest email in my inbox is from October 15, 2014, and it’s called, “Body Affirmations.” It’s a list of 100 affirmations that I’d copied from an article I’d found online and emailed to myself.
Do you know how many times in the following two or three years I opened up that email?
Zero.
Despite this, every time I went to clean out my inbox, I’d see that one email sitting there at the bottom and think, “Maybe I’ll want it one day.” I think I knew deep down that I wanted to carry these affirmations with me in my life, but my brain hadn’t quite caught up to my heart yet. And that’s okay. Everything unfolds exactly as it’s supposed to, and I’m grateful for my former self for holding onto these empowering words, even though she wasn’t quite ready for them yet.
These days, I don’t just accept affirmations into my life; I embrace them wholeheartedly.
As I mentioned above, they’ve allowed me to take back my story. I now create my life through the thoughts I consciously choose to magnify and give a voice to.
And because affirmations have played such a positive and important role in my journey, I want to share them with as many people as I can reach so that you can also begin to own your story and create the life that feels good to you.
Which Affirmations Should I Use?
The key with affirmations is that you want to find the ones that resonate with you and that you can truly believe. If you don’t believe the affirmation, then you may end up feeling worse about yourself (because subconsciously, your inner bully is saying a big fat, “Yeah right!”). We don’t want that!
If you want to believe an affirmation but find yourself feeling blocked from truly getting there, don’t stress. View your journey like you’re climbing a ladder, and with each rung, you’re steadily getting to that feel-good place you desire.
For instance, if body love is your goal, you may not really believe yourself if you try to affirm, “I love everything about my body.” Instead, start with, “I am open to loving my body and seeing it for all of its beauty.”
You might also be okay with saying, “My body is deserving of love.” You could also find specific areas of your body that you do really like, such as your smile. Or you can focus on all the ways your body shows up for you, even emphasizing something as seemingly simple as the fact that it keeps you alive.
Find the words that allow you to really feel good, and keep your focus on the positive emotions associated with these empowering words as you climb up that ladder.
With any of the affirmations below, if it doesn’t feel right, feel free to modify it so that it feels good for you. Focus on the ones that resonate with you the most. You will always know whether something is right for you by the way it feels.

This isn’t about just reciting a few empty, feel-good words every once in a while.
This is about finding the words that resonate with you deep within and then feeling the emotions of these words in every cell of your being.
You’re not just saying you’re worthy; you are worthy. Worthiness is who you are at your very core. Worthiness created you, and worthiness is the foundation you’ve built yourself upon.
You have been dripping in worthiness since the day you were born.

35 Epic Morning Affirmations To Create A Beautiful Day
In this article, discover 35 powerful morning affirmations to help you remain calm, confident, and courageous as you step into a beautiful new day filled with limitless possibilities.
Morning Affirmations
How do you speak to yourself in the morning? What thoughts run through your mind as you’re getting ready for the day? When your mind wanders, where does it go?
And most importantly, do you use your energy to lift yourself up or tear yourself down?
For many of us, we spend our mornings replaying events of the past or worrying about the future. We run through our to-do lists. We wonder if we’ll have enough time to squeeze in everything we need to get done for the day.
These thoughts are normal, and you definitely shouldn’t judge yourself if you find yourself always returning to stressful, worrying thoughts in the morning.
But you also have the power to change this narrative.
You have the power to choose your thoughts. To decide how you want to feel as you get ready for the day ahead.
Your morning sets the foundation for next 12 to 24 hours. This is when you can consciously direct your energy and create a mindset that feels truly uplifting and empowering.
And incorporating positive affirmations into your morning routine can have a profound effect on how the rest of your day unfolds. By repeating these empowering words, you lift your vibration and create a positive energy field within and around you. In turn, you open yourself up to receiving even more beautiful experiences throughout your day.
What makes affirmations such a powerful tool in the morning is that they can uplift your mindset without taking any additional time out of your day. This is great if you don’t have a lot of extra time before you need to head out the door.
The key here is being willing to notice how you’re speaking to yourself in the privacy of your own mind, then intentionally directing your thoughts to a better-feeling place.
Below, you’ll find 35 epic morning affirmations to uplift, inspire, and help you to create a beautiful day. Use these affirmations to cultivate a positive mindset filled with confidence, strength, and inner peace.
And remember: you control your thoughts. You control how you get to feel. Your emotions, beliefs, and how you show up for each new day is entirely up to you.
How To Use Affirmations In The Morning

Manifestation Morning Routine Components
Positive Affirmations
A positive affirmation is a present-tense affirming statement that’s designed to boost your self-belief and support your overall well-being: mind, body, and soul.
Here are a few examples:
- I am worthy.
- I am enough.
- I am competent, capable, and strong.
- I am equipped with all the tools I need to succeed.
- I am true to myself, always.
- I accept all of myself.
- Who I am, exactly as I am, is truly beautiful.
Affirmations are great because there are so many ways you can incorporate them into your morning routine, and they’re especially versatile if you’re pressed for time.
You can write some of your favorite uplifting affirmations on post-it notes and stick them to your mirror to read as you get ready for your day.
You can also write them in a bullet journal or on a notepad.
And if you don’t want to write them down, you can silently repeat them to yourself as you’re eating breakfast.
And finally, you can even set them up as notifications on your phone to pop up just when you need them in the morning.
Positive affirmations are the cornerstone of a well-rounded manifestation morning routine, as they’re a quick and easy way to lift your vibrations and align you with your desired emotions without taking any time at all.

Visualization
My favorite way to describe visualization is intentional daydreaming. You might also consider it daydreaming on purpose.
In manifestation, visualization allows you to simulate the experience of already having your desires in the present moment. This is a profound practice to help you get clear about what you want and begin vibrating at the frequency of your desires today.
So why should you include visualization in your morning routine?
Among other benefits, visualization increases your motivation, helps you to become more mentally resilient, opens your creative mind to previously unseen possibilities, and helps you to vibrate at the frequency of your desires, thus activating the Law of Attraction. (You can read more about the benefits of visualization in this article.)
If you’re new to visualization practices, one of the best ways to start is by using a guided meditation. You can find some of my favorite guided meditations for manifesting here. I personally use the InsightTimer app for all of my guided meditations. (That’s not an affiliate link. I just truly love this app and recommend it wholeheartedly.)
You can also spend a few minutes looking at your vision board and immersing yourself in the positive feelings of having your desires today.
For instance, if a brand new Tesla is on your list, imagine yourself driving that Tesla. Feel the smooth steering wheel beneath your fingers. Imagine how good it’ll feel when you’re driving that car on the freeway. See if you can spend at least 30 to 60 seconds focusing on each item on your board.

Gratitude
Gratitude is another practice that can take as much or as little time as you want.
Many people set the intention to focus on gratitude as soon as they wake up in the morning:
“Thank you for another new day and for the air in my lungs. Thank you for my beating heart. For my safe home. For a restful night’s sleep. Thank you for all the love that’s within and all around me.”
This is an incredibly powerful practice. How many times have you woken up and immediately started clicking through mental to-do lists, feeling stressed and anxious about all that needs to get done?
Gratitude is a way to shift that narrative.
It’s about being in the present moment rather than living in the past or worrying about the future.
And even more, it’s about focusing on all that you have rather than seeing big gaping holes of lack everywhere you look.
Here are a few ways you can incorporate gratitude into your morning routine:
- Create gratitude lists. Every morning, list 1 to 3 things you feel grateful for that day. If you want, you can get a special notebook for this purpose; you can also used lined paper, notecards, sticky notes, or whatever you have lying around.
- Have a dedicated Gratitude Box. Each morning, write one thing you’re grateful for on a slip of paper. Insert the slip into a small box or mason jar. Then, at the end of a year, remove the 365 pieces of paper and read through them, feeling that wave of appreciation wash over you all over again.
- Keep a gratitude journal. You can write down several things you’re grateful for each morning, or you can focus on one thing and write all the aspects of that thing that you especially appreciate.
- Simply acknowledge your gratitude. You don’t necessarily have to write it down. As you’re showering, eating breakfast, or commuting to work, you can think about all the things in your life that you feel thankful for.
You can learn about the benefits of gratitude and why it’s an especially powerful practice when it comes to the Law of Attraction in this article.
Daily Intention Setting
One of the most profound practices you can do each day to support your manifestations is to set daily intentions.
Unlike a goal, which is the thing you ultimately want to manifest into your reality, an intention is how you want to be as you work towards your goals.
For instance, if you want to manifest financial prosperity, you might set the intention to be the embodiment of abundance in your thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Set a daily intention that feels good to you. And if you find that you’ve strayed from your intention (i.e. you’re not being the embodiment of abundance like you had intended), that’s okay!
As soon as you have that realization, you can simply choose to return back to your intention and realign with the thoughts, feelings, and overall frequency of your desired manifestation.
Here are some examples of intentions you can set:
- Today, I will be present in every moment.
- I will hold strength in my heart and clarity in my mind.
- I will be my most authentic self in all moments.
- As I move through this day, I will choose love over fear.
- I will accomplish everything I focus on.
- I will take deep breaths and inhale confidence when I feel anxious or nervous.
- Today, I will succeed in everything I do.
- I will accept all opportunities that come my way.
- I will ask myself in all moments, “How can I serve?”
- In all moments, I will find things to be grateful for.
- I will be the highest version of myself.
- I will spread kindness in my words and actions.
Journaling
If you’re ready to skip this section because you don’t think you have time for journaling, don’t leave just yet. You might be surprised by all the journaling tactics you can do in just a few minutes.
I cover different types of manifestation journaling extensively on this site, so I’ll briefly summarize a few journaling practices and link to each corresponding article below.
- Scripting: Scripting is the practice of writing about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest right now. For instance, if you want to manifest a specific job, you can write as if you’re living a day in that dream job. The key to unlocking the magic of scripting is to truly feel the positive emotions of already having everything you desire. Then, carry these positive feelings with you throughout your day. To learn more about scripting and download a free Law of Attraction scripting template, click here. Estimated Time: 10 to 20 minutes.
- 55×5 Manifestation Method: To practice the 55×5 Manifestation Method, choose an affirmation, then write down your chosen affirmation 55 times in a row for 5 days straight. For example, if you want to manifest a trip to Hawaii, your affirmation might be, “I am so grateful that I’m going on my dream vacation to Hawaii!” On Day 1, grab a journal or notebook and write this affirmation 55 times in a row. Days 2, 3, 4, and 5 – same thing. And again, allow yourself to feel the positive emotions attached to this affirmation as if it’s already come true. To learn more about the 55×5 Manifestation Method, click here. Estimated Time: 10 to 20 minutes depending on the length of the affirmation.
- 369 Method: To practice the 369 Method, choose an affirmation just like what you’d use for the 55×5 Manifestation Method. Write down your affirmation 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the afternoon, and 9 times in the evening. Do this for 21 days in a row. As you write it down, maintain high vibrations and make sure to be consistent. You can learn more about the 369 Method here. Estimated Time: 3 to 5 minutes.
Meditation
One big plus meditation has going for it? You can actually incorporate almost all of the practices above in a ten-minute meditation.
You’ll find guided meditations dedicated to gratitude, positive affirmations, visualization, or setting daily intentions.
And you’ll even find manifestation meditations that include all of these components in one track.
If you’re first starting out with meditation, I highly recommend using an app to help you get started. Many of these apps have beginner meditations to introduce you to the different concepts, often focused especially on breath work.
Here are a few of the best ones that you can try out today:
Finally, before you get started, know that this is not a competition. Nobody gets extra credit for meditating longer or being more still than everyone else. Ten minutes (or even five) is all you need to start a morning meditation practice.
And please, please know that meditation is not about being perfect.
My mind wanders all the time when I’m meditating. And that’s okay!
Meditation teaches us to notice those moments, acknowledge them, and gently allow ourselves to come back to the present moment, over and over again.
Suggested Morning Routines (Based On Time)
We all have our non-negotiables when it comes to our morning routine.
Some of these are for personal hygiene and cleanliness reasons, like showering, brushing teeth, and moisturizing routines. Drying and straightening/curling hair, putting on makeup, and picking out the perfect outfit might be components of your morning routine. And you might also like to sit down and eat a real breakfast before you head out the door.
Only you know what your non-negotiables are, so factor in the time it takes to complete these tasks as you decide how much time you can realistically dedicate to your morning routine.
And know that it’s okay to start small.
If you’re able to wake up ten minutes earlier to add a ten-minute manifesting practice to your day, that’s incredible. Truly. By taking that seemingly small step, you show the universe that you’re committed, focused, and persistent.
Just the very act of committing to yourself is going to open up so many amazing opportunities and experiences for you. Over time, you may want to add another five minutes or find new ways to maximize your time. You’re in the driver’s seat here, and you get to decide what’s right for you.
Five Minutes
- Complete the Morning Routine template below!
- Or, instead of the template, you can spend your five minutes practicing visualization. Then, as you’re getting ready for the day, you can mentally go through your gratitude list, recite some uplifting positive affirmations, and set an empowering intention for the day.
Ten Minutes
- Complete the above Morning Routine template. Then, with any remaining time, do a short visualization practice. You can use your vision board or complete a five-minutes guided meditation. For extra positivity, keep repeating positive affirmations as you get ready for the day.
Twenty to Thirty Minutes
- Do a ten to fifteen minute meditation. Then, complete the Morning Routine template. If you have any time remaining, add some extra affirmations or do a one-to-two minute visualization. Keep reciting affirmations and internally focusing on the things you’re grateful for as you shower, eat breakfast, and commute to work.
Forty Minutes
- Do a ten-minute meditation. Then, complete twenty minutes of journaling. With the remaining time, complete the Morning Routine template. Keep affirming your worthiness and focusing on all the wonderful things you feel grateful for as you finish getting ready for the morning.
Fifty to Sixty Minutes
- Complete thirty minutes of journaling, then a 10 to 20 minute meditation (or vice versa). Use any remaining time to complete the Morning Routine template. Or, if you prefer, you can use a separate notebook to write down your intentions for the day. Keep focusing on gratitude and positive affirmations as you get yourself ready in the morning!

Getting Started With Affirmation Cards
Do you have a brand new deck of empowering affirmation cards that you’re antsy to crack open and start using as part of your daily routine?
Whether or not you’ve used affirmation cards before, starting a new affirmation card routine is super easy, and there are tons of simple practices you can do each day to empower your mindset.
But first: what exactly is an affirmation?
An affirmation is, quite simply, a statement you make about yourself that you affirm to be true.
An affirmation can actually be positive or negative, because we can also affirm negative statements about ourselves to be true, whether we do this consciously or not.
For the purposes of this post, whenever I use the word affirmation, know that I’m talking about the positive kind. A positive affirmation is a present-tense affirming statement that’s designed to boost your self-belief and support your overall well-being: mind, body, and soul.
And one of the best ways to use affirmations is through the use of affirmation cards.
Affirmation cards come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors, and they often have anywhere between 40 to 60 cards in a deck.
You can start out with just one affirmation card deck or alternate between decks every week or every month. If you don’t mind a little organized chaos, you can even mix decks together to incorporate them all into your daily routine.
Below are seven powerful practices for using affirmation cards in your daily routine. And be sure to keep scrolling toward the bottom, because I link to my top picks for affirmation card decks that will uplift, empower, and inspire you to affirm your undeniable worthiness. (And bonus: they’re all absolutely gorgeous.)

How To Use Affirmation Cards
Morning Routine
Morning is my favorite time to use affirmation cards because it always sets me up for a positive mindset as I start my day.
One of the most popular ways to use affirmation cards is to pick one card from the deck at random as your chosen affirmation of the day.
As you read the positive affirmation on the card, allow yourself to truly feel the uplifting words within every cell of your being. And furthermore, allow yourself to truly believe the words. Trust that this affirmation came to you today for a reason.
Here are a few more things you can do with your chosen affirmation card:
- Spend time reflecting. What do the words mean to you? How can you embody the feelings within the words throughout your day? How can this positive affirmation support you today? If you want, you can even spend some time journaling your thoughts about this affirmation.
- Carry the card with you. Slide the card into your purse or bag, and set the intention to look at it and feel the positive words within you throughout the day. (You can even set phone reminders to help you remember.) If you work at a desk, you can also choose to set the affirmation next to your computer monitor so you can be reminded of it during your day.
- Pull it back out before bed. Keep the affirmation out where it’s easy to access, and then in the evening, take one final look at it. Once again, let the positivity of the words radiate through you. If you want, you can spend some time reflecting on all the ways you embodied this affirmation during the day. Just remember: no judgment. If the card said, “I am calm, patient, and peaceful,” and you lost your cool at some point during the day, that’s okay! Have compassion for yourself. That doesn’t mean you’re not calm, patient, and peaceful. It just means you’re a human being who had a human experience; embrace this truth with love and understanding.
Create Affirmation Art
Many affirmation card decks are so beautiful, you could consider them art. So why not treat them like art and display them in a place where you can see them throughout the day?
There are tons of ways you can do this. One of the easiest ways is to use a whiteboard with magnets or a bulletin board with pushpins, though I’d be careful to use the pins around the edges of the cards as opposed to sticking them through the cards. A bonus of using one of these boards is it’s easy to change the affirmations as often as you’d like.
Another fun and creative way to hang your affirmation cards is with some twine (or some kind of rope/string) and clothespins. You can hang the twine/rope across a wall, a shelf, or even in rows across an old, empty picture frame, and use the clothespins to hold up your chosen affirmations. Again, this method makes it super easy to change out the cards whenever you feel like mixing it up.
However you choose to display your art, make sure to place it somewhere accessible so you see it throughout the day. Set the intention to spend a couple minutes each day reading the positive affirmations and affirming the words into your being.
Journal Your Affirmation(s)
I mentioned this under the “Morning Routine” section, but there are tons of ways to take your journaling practice even further.
While it’s common for many to journal in the morning, you can do these practices any time of day.
- Pick 3 to 5 affirmation cards. Set them in front of you as you pull out your journal to write. Write each affirmation five times, making sure to truly feel the affirmation within as you write down the words. You can stop here, or you can take it one step further and reflect on what each affirmation means to you and/or how you’re going to embody this affirmation throughout your day.
- Choose one affirmation card. Write all the ways in which you encompass the positive words on this card. For instance, let’s say you choose the affirmation, “I accept all of myself.” What are some examples in your life of times when you bravely accepted all of yourself? In what ways do you show yourself acceptance every day? You could list all the inner and outer parts of you and how you love and accept each and every part. You could also write about how you accept your past history. Write about all the ways in which you and this positive affirmation are aligned.
- Reflect upon what your chosen affirmation means to you. Again, let’s use the example “I accept all of myself.” What does it mean to you to accept all of yourself? In what ways does accepting all of yourself equate to loving all of yourself? What practices can you incorporate in your life that would promote more self-acceptance? Why is it important to accept all of yourself?
Depending on how much time you have, you could also combine the practices above to dig deeper into each affirmation.
Gift Individual Cards To Loved Ones
If, like me, giving gifts is your love language, then you’ll love this thoughtful and inexpensive way to show the people in your life your love and appreciation.
Choose a card in your deck that reminds you of your chosen recipient. Most of the decks have somewhere between 40 – 60 cards in them, so you’ll have plenty of cards to choose from.
It can also be fun to write a little note to go with the card, telling the recipient why you picked it for them.
If the person’s a coworker, you could leave it on their desk for them to find in the morning.
If they are a friend, you could secretly put it in their purse for them to discover.
You can also give the recipient their gift in person and tell them why you chose this particular card for them.
The Dessie Inspirational Cards I discuss in more detail below are perfect for this, as they already come with envelopes and stickers to give as gifts.
Hide Cards To Find Later
Gift giving isn’t just about giving to others; it’s also about giving to yourself from time to time.
And you absolutely deserve to gift yourself some empowering affirmation cards, too.
A fun way to do this is to hide cards in spots where you don’t look very often, such as a filing cabinet, a desk drawer, a bookshelf, or elsewhere. If you want, you can put the card in an envelope first with a loving handwritten note to yourself included.
When you find the card later, open it up and be reminded of how worthy, incredible, and loved you are.
Trade Cards With A Friend
Do you have a close friend in your life who you don’t get to see nearly enough? This is a great practice to stay in touch while uplifting and supporting one another.
You and your friend can both purchase one or more affirmation card decks. At an agreed upon time (i.e. once a week or once a month), choose an affirmation for that friend and write them a sweet note detailing why your friend embodies the beautiful words on the card.
Then, slip it into the mail.
In a couple days, both of you will be getting some positive, empowering words in your mailbox. You can slide this new card into your current deck(s) or hang it somewhere you’ll see until the next one comes in.
While I love the idea of trading physical cards and getting mail, you can also snap a pic of the card and exchange texts with your friend on a weekly basis. Heart-shaped emojis completely encouraged!
Pull A Card Before Bed
Are you someone who spends a lot of time at night replaying events of the day or worrying about tomorrow? Embracing positive affirmations is a powerful way to shift your mindset at night.
Before bed, pull a card and read the words to yourself, making sure to inhale all the positive vibes of the affirmation.
If you want, you can spend some time journaling or reflecting upon the chosen affirmation.
Then, when you go to bed, commit to repeating the affirmation to yourself when you close your eyes. If you catch your brain shifting back into worry-mode, simply pause, release your thoughts, and return to your chosen affirmation. Do this as much as you need until you fall asleep.

30 Affirmations For Tapping Into Your Intuition
Below, discover 30 positive affirmations for tapping into your divine intuition. Plus, get additional tips on how to connect with your intuition in your daily life.
What Is Your Intuition?
Your intuition is your deep inner knowing. It’s a hunch. A feeling. A whisper. It’s a voice that doesn’t speak in words but in a language that only you can understand.
Your intuition is the oldest, deepest, wisest part of you.
Your intuition is the sense of knowing you possess that seems to know the right answer before your mind can make rational sense of the situation. And even when your conscious mind has had the time to go through the pros/cons list and dissect the situation, your intuition may lead you somewhere else completely.
It might say, “I know that this path is what feels logical, but this other path is what feels right.”
Many people feel like their intuition doesn’t work or that they don’t have access to their deep inner knowing. But the truth is, everybody has access to their inner guidance system. But like a muscle, you have to work with it regularly in order to make it stronger.
The most profound practices for tapping into your intuition are meditation and mindfulness. What blocks us from accessing our intuition more than anything else is being immersed in outer noise. When you’re constantly living externally, you have a hard time connecting to your heart’s wisdom.
So to access your intuition, you have to step back from the noise. You have to get really quiet. You have to take full, deep breaths. And you have to be patient.
When you’re strength training, you won’t see a profound difference in your muscle growth after only one workout. The same goes for your intuition. You have to keep coming back to silence, over and over again. You have to make space for your inner knowing to come forward, and you have to keep quieting your mind so your heart can speak.
For more practices on how to tap into your intuition, plus guidance and tips on what your intuition should feel like and how your intuition relates to manifestation, you can read my full article on accessing your intuition here.
Below, you’ll find 30 positive affirmations for connecting with your intuition. Find the affirmations that resonate most with you and repeat them daily. You can repeat these affirmations in meditation or recite them throughout your day.
And remember to keep coming back to silence. Keep stepping back from the outer noise and returning to your inner self. And know that the greatest guidance you can ever receive doesn’t come from outside yourself; it’s within.

55 I AM Affirmations For Love, Success, and Abundance
One of your greatest powers is your ability to let go of the need to receive external validation and instead find everything you’re looking for inside of you in this present moment. Below, discover the power of I AM affirmations to help you cultivate a mindset of true success, abundance, and unconditional self-love.
The Power Of I AM
When you begin using affirmations, one of the first things you’ll hear is to always speak in the present tense.
When you say, “I am worthy,” you ground yourself in this present moment. It isn’t, “I will be worthy.” Or, “I hope to be worthy.”
This type of statement is so small. Just three words. Four syllables. Nine letters.
But in those three words, you state that you are worthy right now, just as you are. You don’t need to become worthy. You don’t need to change yourself to be worthy. And you absolutely don’t have to earn your worthiness.
You get to own your inherent worthiness in this moment without needing to change a thing. And by owning your worthiness, you own your immense power to choose how you feel in any moment.
And you also realize that you can have anything when you know that what you’re seeking is already inside you.
It all begins with two tiny but monumentally powerful words:
I AM.
Using daily affirmations may feel uncomfortable at first, especially if you’re used to criticizing yourself in the privacy of your own mind. You’ll have to keep reminding yourself to repeat your empowering affirmations and feel into the positive vibrations of these powerful words.
In time, though, these words will become woven into the very fabric of your being. They’ll be an inextricable part of who you are:
Worthy. Abundant. Loved. Powerful. Whole. And always, always enough.
Below, you’ll find tips for using and getting the most out of your I AM affirmations. Then, you’ll find 55 profound I AM affirmations for love, success, abundance, and more. These affirmations are designed to help you recognize your power in this present moment and walk forward in your journey knowing you already have what it takes to live the life you desire.
You just have to own the incredible power that already exists inside of you.
Tips For Using I AM Affirmations
- Don’t just say the words; feel them. This is what makes an affirmation so powerful. If you can say an affirmation such as, “I am abundant,” and truly feel abundant inside every cell of your being, then you’re no longer looking for external sources to validate your worth. Instead, you cultivate what you’re looking for inside of you.
- Don’t force it if it really doesn’t resonate. Forcing yourself to say an affirmation that actually makes you feel worse is counterproductive to the positive mindset you’re trying to cultivate. Instead, choose affirmations that genuinely feel good to you.
- And on that note, you can also use what I call the Ladder Method. Let’s say you want to use the affirmation, “I am beautiful and healthy.” Maybe you have a hard time repeating this. You try to force it, but sometimes, this leaves you feeling worse than before. Instead, allow yourself to step back and find an affirmation that feels a little better to you. You might say, “I am open to discovering the ways that I am beautiful and healthy.” You can also say, “I am willing to love my body and see its inherent beauty.” See if you can incorporate these affirmations into your daily practice, slowly climbing the ladder until you get to that place where you can say, “I am beautiful and healthy.”
- And finally, make affirmations a daily part of your routine. If it’s hard to remember at first, you can set phone notifications to go off throughout the day with powerful affirmations written on them. You can also print out affirmations or write them on post-it notes and stick them around your home and office. What I’ve found is that eventually, I don’t need these reminders anymore because the affirmation becomes so ingrained within me. After a while, it’ll become second nature to easily affirm your worthiness.

35 Sunday Affirmations To Rejuvenate Your Spirit
Below, discover 35 beautiful Sunday affirmations to replenish, recharge, and rejuvenate your spirit. (And don’t forget to download your free printable affirmations below!)
Is Sunday The Beginning Or The End?
Sundays are arguably the most peculiar day of the week.
Some calendars will start a new week on Sunday, while on others, you’ll find it at the end.
For religious reasons, Sunday has long been viewed as the most important day of the week and thus used to signify the start of a new seven-day period. But with the advent of industrialization and the five-day work week, Monday began to take its place as the ceremonial inaugurator of a brand new week.
So is Sunday the beginning or the end? Is it the final puzzle piece of a seven-day week or the beginning of a fresh new 168 hours?
I tend to think Sunday exists in the undefined space of the in-between.
It’s not entirely a beginning or an end. On Sunday, we haven’t fully stepped into a new week, but we’re not really clinging to the prior week, either. We’re living in a space in-between what was and what’s coming: a space where nothing is completely certain but anything is possible.
A space where we can start to shed the layers of our past selves so we can make space for something new to emerge.
A space where we can replenish, recharge, and refill our own cups.
A space where we don’t necessarily have to do. Where maybe, for a little while, we can simply be.
Below, you’ll find 35 Sunday affirmations to help you embrace this space of the in-between: releasing the old, stepping into the new, and replenishing your spirit along the way.
And to support your own personal journey, you can download your free printable Sunday affirmations and keep these empowering words with you no matter where you are on your path.
