    What Is Your Intuition?

In many ways, your intuition is the least glamorous thing about you. It isn’t showy. It doesn’t like to be the center of attention. It’s so subtle, in fact, that many people question whether theirs works.

Right away, I’m here to tell you that you do have one, and it does work. You’ve probably even encountered it recently.

We all possess a deep inner knowing softly whispering inside of us; we just don’t always listen to it because our cognitive minds are so busy worrying, stressing, second guessing, developing worst-case scenarios, and overthinking.

The second your intuition nudges you to do something out of the norm, your logical brain says, “Hold up, but what about all these 5,000 things that can go wrong?”

And sometimes, you actually hear your intuition loud and clear, but you don’t want to listen to it.

    • Your intuition may tell you it’s time to break up with your partner, but you’re terrified of change and don’t want to cause another person pain.
    • Your intuition may tell you not to accept that seemingly perfect job with the great pay, but how could you turn down that money?
    • Or your intuition may tell you that you need some more time to yourself before you dive into another relationship, but you really hate being alone.

This is one of the most frequently asked topics in manifestation, so I’m going to dive right in and cover a lot here today. Let’s explore how to tap into your intuition, what your intuition should feel like, the relationship between intuition and manifestation, and what to do if you don’t like what your intuition is telling you.

How To Tap Into Your Intuition

Below, find six practices to help you tap into your intuition, plus a few additional exercises you can try. Consistently following these practices will strengthen your connection with your intuition and help you tap into this deep inner knowing with ease.

    Quiet Your Mind

The first step to take to start connecting with your intuition? Listen. You can’t hear what that inner voice is trying to tell you if you’re constantly immersed in noise. The quickest and most profound way to start connecting with your intuition is to let silence be a normal part of your life.

If you have a daily meditation practice already, you may already be benefitting from these regular encounters with silence and stillness.

And if you don’t have a meditation practice, that’s okay. I know meditation may seem overwhelming at first. This is partially due to the myth that meditation requires you to have no thoughts. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about meditation and why many people believe meditation isn’t for them.

But if you listen to just about any meditation teacher, they’ll tell you the same thing: meditation is not about clearing your mind of thoughts. If it was, I’m not sure any of us, not even the most advanced meditators, would ever succeed. The last thing we want to do is suppress or evade our own thoughts.

At its heart, meditation (especially practices rooted in mindfulness) is about non-judgmental observation, conscious awareness, and gently rooting yourself in the present moment. It’s a chance to step away from the external noise and come home to yourself for a little while.

And this is where your intuition shines: in the quiet places where you can simply be.

The paradox of using meditation to connect with your intuition is that you’re not actively going to try connecting with your intuition during your meditation. If you sit in silence and try to force something to come forward, you’re likely going to put excess pressure on yourself; in turn, this often causes frustration and anxiety.

The key is patience. Sit in stillness for ten minutes today. Then, sit in stillness for ten minutes tomorrow. Day after day, keep sitting in stillness for ten minutes at a time. Don’t try to force anything. It will come on its own. All of the mental clutter will start to clear up, and your intuition will come forward.

    Practice Mindfulness

One of the biggest barriers to connecting with your intuition is being anywhere but where you are right now.

What do I mean by this?

As you go about your day, it’s easy to get lost in thoughts about the past or future. You might find yourself replaying yesterday’s events or worrying about the days ahead. When this happens, your mind becomes so busy with troublesome thoughts, you lose your connection with that quiet voice within.

Mindfulness is the key to returning to this moment right now and getting in touch with your inner knowing.

First, let’s take a step back and talk about mindfulness itself. What is it, and why is it so important?

Mindfulness is non-judgmental, conscious awareness in the present moment. This means being aware of what’s happening within and around you in this moment. How does your body feel? Where do your thoughts stray? Are you experiencing any anxiety or tension? What can you perceive with your five senses?

The key here is not to judge anything you notice. Don’t label any of it as right or wrong. Just notice.

So why is mindfulness important when it comes to connecting to your intuition?

Mindfulness allows you to become aware of what’s happening within and around you in this present moment.

Remember, your intuition isn’t flashy. Every once in a while, it might scream at you, like when it knows you might be walking into a dangerous situation. But for most of the daily stuff, it tends to be quiet and unassuming.

You can’t always expect it to speak up louder; instead, you must consciously step away from all the mental chatter so you can hear it.

Mindfulness quiets the noise of your worries, fears, judgments, and daily stresses so you can hear what’s really going on in the deepest parts within.

If mindfulness is new for you, you can check out this article for some helpful exercises you can try to start practicing mindfulness throughout your day.

Truly, I can’t emphasize enough how important mindfulness is in connecting to your intuition. It may feel like this is a slow process, but I promise, if you consistently practice mindfulness techniques for a month straight, you will begin noticing shifts within yourself.

This is the bridge to connecting to that quiet voice within: being consciously aware of what’s happening inside you in this present moment, without judging what’s going on. Simply listening. Breathing. Being.

    Cultivate Calm

I’ll keep this one short: clarity comes with calm.

People don’t usually make good choices when they’re feeling stressed, worried, angry, or depressed.

Connecting with your intuition requires you to first do the two things I mentioned above: quiet your mind and practice mindfulness. Mindfulness will allow you to recognize that you’re feeling “low” or “off.” By recognizing your own low mental state, you can choose not to make any big decisions at that moment.

Conversely, it will help to bring clarity when you’re experiencing a more positive mental state. This is when the magic happens. When you’re experiencing a sense of calm and inner peace, that’s when you’re in greatest alignment with your inner knowing.

Start consciously working with your intuition during moments when you’re feeling really good. I started with walks around my neighborhood. During these walks, I always felt calm, grounded, and connected to my higher self. So I started asking my intuition to guide me when I should turn and where I should walk next.

Most of the time, nothing really happened. And that’s completely okay! Sometimes, when you work with your intuition, nothing will actually seem to happen around you. This is normal. Just because nothing happens around you doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

Keep practicing in these moments. This is preparing you to trust your intuition for those bigger moments when something does happen.

Practice Picking Up Signals From People Around You

Think of the people you spend the most time with: family, friends, coworkers. How often have you taken one look at a person you’re close with and known that something was wrong?

What about those times when it’s less obvious? Someone may seem fine on the surface, but a feeling deep within tells you that something’s off. They seem distant. Distracted. Heavy.

Start approaching your daily interactions with the intention to pick up on any underlying feelings that may be going on beneath the surface. When you begin your interaction, ask yourself, “What do I feel from this person right now?” See if you can name that underlying feeling.

As you continue to practice this, it will become easier to tap into that feeling within. In time, this will expand into other areas of your life. Not only will you be able to connect with your intuition when interacting with other people, but you’ll feel those subtle hunches when it comes to your own life path.

    Take Days Off

This directly correlates with what we’ve discussed in some of the different points above: make space for stillness, step back from the noise, and give your soul a chance to take a deep sigh of relief.

If you’re currently immersed in a cycle of feeling stressed and busy all the time, you’re going to have a difficult time connecting with your inner knowing. See if you can plan days throughout your month where you don’t have anything on the to-do list. Do things that make you feel calm and at ease.

Again, you don’t have to actively try to make your intuition come forward. Let it come to you.

(And to add to this, spending time in nature and taking social media breaks will also help you escape all the outer noise and connect to your inner self. You’ll often hear about these practices when it comes to self-care and taking care of your mental and emotional health, but they have the added benefit of also helping you develop and strengthen your intuition.)

    Connect With Your Body

You’ll experience your intuition in goosebumps, shivers, chest pressure, and inner aches. You’ll also experience it in more subtle feelings and hunches. The better connected you are with your body, the more you’ll be able to pick up on subtle changes happening inside you.

Yoga and meditation are two practices you can use to connect with your body. You can also practice simply standing with your two feet on the ground, closing your eyes, and connecting with how you feel.

Connection also comes just by paying attention. Step back throughout your day and ask, “How does my body feel right now?” Answer without judgment. The more you practice this, the easier it will become to pick up on any understated shifts that happen within.

    A Few More Practices

In the long-term, mindfulness and meditation are the two practices that will have the most profound effect on how you connect with your intuition. However, if you want to start working with your intuition more closely right away, there are plenty of other meaningful practices you can try today. Here are a few examples:

    • One of my favorite things to do is go into a store that has crystals and gemstones and let my intuition guide me to pick out a new gemstone for myself. (The small ones are often as inexpensive as $1, so this doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.) Once I pick out my stone, I’ll take it home and read about the spiritual meaning of that gemstone. Then, I’ll think about why my intuition may have led me to that stone. Is it because of the spiritual meaning, or does it simply have a feeling of positive energy? There’s no right or wrong answer here. It’s just a fun and easy practice for developing your intuition, plus you get a new crystal or gemstone from it! You also don’t exclusively have to do this practice with crystals. Pick something you like that makes you feel good, like flowers, books, jewelry, or candles.
    • Working with oracle cards is also a great way to develop your intuition. Pick a card, and before you consult a guidebook, let your inner knowing interpret the meaning of the card.
    • You might also start keeping a dream journal. Try to write what you remember about your dream shortly after you wake up. (The sooner, the better.) Consider if your intuition was trying to tell you something within your dream. You might also see if your intuition can help you uncover any deeper meanings or symbolism in the dream itself.
    • A pendulum is another great tool for developing your intuition. It’s most often used to gain insight and clarity when there are areas of uncertainty in your life. Anytime you have a question and are looking for help or advice, you can use a pendulum to receive guidance from a higher power. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can use a pendulum to strengthen your intuition, this article explains what a pendulum is and how it’s used.

What Does Your Intuition Feel Like?

Your intuition can be so subtle, it’s often difficult to describe what it feels like.

For a situation in which you might be putting yourself in danger, the feeling will be louder and more obvious. Your heart will race, your palms will get sweaty, and that voice within will yell at you to turn around and find safety. Sometimes, your breath may quicken, and you’ll get shivers down your spine.

When you encounter these experiences, don’t question these feelings. And especially don’t question whether you’re overreacting. Err on the side of caution. Trust what you feel.

Most situations in life aren’t like this, though–especially when it comes to intuitive nudges you have about your own life path. Your intuition usually doesn’t speak in shouts but in whispers.

And often, it’s less of a feeling and more of a knowing. You’ll experience a sudden understanding: clarity that just comes to you, often unexpectedly. If something is off (maybe with a relationship or a business deal), there will be a part of you that just knows.

Your intuition comes from your heart’s consciousness, which isn’t always as easy to grasp as the logic and reason of your mind’s consciousness. Thus, you may try to talk your way out of whatever it is that you’re feeling. You may keep trying to reason with yourself and follow your logical mind.

And it’s okay; most of us have done this at some point in our lives. We’ve been taught to trust logic and reason over intuition and inner knowing. And that’s what can make following your intuition feel kind of scary–because it requires you to alter your mindset. It’s less about thinking your way forward and more about feeling your way forward.

Here are a few of the ways in which you might experience your intuition:

    • An unexplainable “knowing”
    • A feeling of “rightness”
    • Clarity
    • Ease
    • Hunches
    • A quiet voice within
    • A recurring thought
    • Goosebumps
    • Shivers
    • Racing heart
    • An inner ache
    • Pressure in your chest
    • Physical discomfort
    • Emotional discomfort

    Your Intuition & Manifestation

So what role does your intuition play in manifestation?

First, let’s consider how manifestation works:

    • You set an intention based on the authentic, deeply felt dreams that have been placed in your heart.
    • You communicate this intention to the Universe. Your positive vibrations are one way of communicating this intention, as by vibrating at the frequency of your desires, you express that you’re ready to receive more of this good-feeling thing.
    • The Universe works behind the scenes to set everything in motion. It communicates back to you in the form of messages, synchronicities, and most importantly, your own intuition. Being in the vibration of what you desire allows you to receive these signs and inner nudges with clarity. (In contrast, being in a state of stress, worry, and anger will cause you to miss these signs and feelings.)
    • Then, you take inspired action based on the communication the Universe has given you. This leads you on your path forward.

The art of manifestation is the art of learning how to communicate with the Universe. You communicate every single day through your vibration. The Universe communicates back to you through your own intuition.

So if you’ve set an intention, that means signs, synchronicities, and inner nudges are going to come. Your job now is to listen and take inspired action. Once you do this, you’ll receive your next nudge forward. As you follow this path, you’ll be in divine flow with the Universe, and your manifestations will start to come alive.

I know this might sound like a long process, but I promise, it’s not. Depending on the specific dream, some things could come in months, weeks, days – even hours.

The key is to not worry when it will come. And in time, you won’t. Just keep following your intuition, and you’ll come to realize the journey is just as beautiful as the destination.

What If You Don’t Like What Your Intuition Is Telling You?

So let’s say you’re trying to manifest something, but your intuition is telling you to do the very opposite of what you think you should be doing. Often, when you want something, it’s because you imagine that outcome will make you feel a certain way.

    • You may want to manifest a perfect partner, even though your intuition is telling you to take some time to be single, because you imagine the partner will make you feel loved.
    • You dream of getting a prestigious position for a certain well-known company, even though your inner knowing says it’s not as perfect as it seems, because you imagine you’ll finally feel successful and worthy of your parents’ approval.
    • Or you want to manifest the money to have that cosmetic surgery, even though you’re unsure about it, because you imagine it’ll make you feel beautiful and empowered.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting these things for yourself. Nothing. It only becomes a potentially negative thing when it goes against your intuition.

This is when I urge you to step back and re-evaluate your overall goal. Take some time to pause. You can meditate, journal, or take a day off to spend time in nature. Set the intention to understand your desires and what you really want. Allow yourself to shift your vision.

Instead of going after that perfect partner, job, or appearance, set an intention to encompass the feelings of being loved, successful, worthy, beautiful, and empowered (or however you imagine this external thing will make you feel).

Focus on those feelings, and allow your intuition to guide you forward on your path. Trust that your inner knowing always has the right answers, and believe that the Universe will always take you where you want to go. It may mean that your perfect partner isn’t supposed to come into your life right now, but you find that you feel so loved anyway, you’re okay waiting.

There’s a lot more to be said about intuition, but for now, I’ll leave you with this: Trust your inner knowing. Even if it doesn’t make sense today, it will with time. If you’re feeling lost, instead of searching for external answers to guide your path, sit in the quiet of your own mind for a little while, and you will find you already know everything you need to take the next step.

    What Is Manifestation?

Manifestation is, in its purest form, creation. Even before you knew you had the ability to manifest, you were unconsciously manifesting every single day.

Have you ever felt a deep inner knowing guiding you in a certain direction, even though it didn’t make sense?

Did you then follow your intuition and take inspired action?

Do you believe you are worthy and deserving of a life filled with true happiness and love?

All of these experiences–following your intuition and believing in your worthiness–are aspects that contribute to manifestation.

Your beliefs shape your life. When you believe you are worthy of true abundance (not just financial prosperity but an abundance of joy, love, peace, freedom, passion, creativity, and all good things), you’re more likely to walk through your life vibrating at the frequency of true abundance. You feel abundant. You see abundance all around you. And in time, you begin to experience abundance in all of its shapes, forms, textures, and hues.

When you truly step back and look at your life, you’ll see that your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.

And this is the heart of manifestation: to visualize your dreams and desires and to vibrate at the frequency of your desires as if they’ve already come true. To consciously cultivate a beautiful inner world so that it spills into your outer world and creates something extraordinary.

When you first start, it may feel like playing pretend, and that’s okay. Because in time, you’ll realize that this isn’t pretend. Your magic is real.

You have the ability to manifest the life you want–the life that feels real and true to you.

It isn’t simply about believing that you can have it all.

It’s about knowing that you already do.

Your dreams are yours, if you choose to accept them. If you choose to believe you are worthy of them. If you trust the Universe to guide you exactly where you’re meant to go.

Below, discover 35 powerful manifestation quotes to remind you that you have the ability to create the life you desire. You possess so much more power than you realize. All you must do is believe.

    What Are Chakras?

Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel” or “disk.” A commonly accepted definition for the word chakra is a wheel of energy in your body. You might also think of it like a vortex of energy within you. What makes it confusing is that this vortex isn’t actually a physical thing like your bones or organs. You can’t see your chakras in an x–ray. Rather, you experience them through feelings, sensations, and your own inner knowing.

When talking about chakras, we typically focus on the seven main ones in your body: Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown. However, your body actually has at least 114 energy centers in your body, and some people believe there to be more.

So what exactly does a chakra do? Energy is meant to flow, and when your chakras are open, your life force energy, or prana, can flow freely through your chakras at all times (through energy channels called nadis). In turn, this means that you’re more likely to feel confident, open-hearted, joyful, strong, creative, and in alignment with your highest, most authentic self.

But if any of your chakras are closed or blocked, your life force energy gets trapped inside you. This often happens due to difficult experiences in your outer world. For instance, rejection, shame, heartbreak, and grief can all result in blocked chakras. This heavy, stagnant energy can result in feelings and experiences such as excessive isolation, lack of confidence, and a closed heart.

To really understand how your chakra system works, I recommend picking up chakra books that go into full detail on how energy works in the body. To help you get started, I’ve listed eight of the best chakra books available, both for beginners and those looking to expand their knowledge about chakras, energy healing, and their body’s energy system.

The playful tone of this journal removes some of the pressure and seriousness that often comes when journeying within and promotes the effortless flow of life force energy.

    The Subtle Body

If you’re ready to venture a little deeper into learning about chakras, Cyndi Dale’s The Subtle Body: An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy may be just what you’re looking for. This is a comprehensive encyclopedia of human energetic anatomy and includes information on chakras, meridians, and fields, as well as the role of your intentions and beliefs when it comes to healing. For anyone wanting to dive deeper into their energy fields than ever before, this one won’t disappoint.

    Essential Chakra Yoga

In Essential Chakra Yoga, Christina D’Arrigo provides assistance to beginners and experienced yoga teachers alike to unblock and heal their chakras using yoga poses and controlled breathing. This is a great resource for bringing balance to your mind, body, and spirit through movement, breathing, and mindfulness.

    Essential Chakra Meditation

April Pfender’s Essential Chakra Meditation provides a series of guided meditations tailored to open, balance, and heal each chakra. It also provides mantras (short chants), mudras (hand postures), and detailed information about each chakra to help you diagnose and treat any blockages you may be experiencing.

    Energy Medicine

One of my personal favorites, Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine provides detailed information on how to work with the body’s energy systems to promote health and well-being. While it discusses chakras, this one goes beyond just talking about chakras and discusses your entire energy system as a whole. If you’re completely new to chakras, I’d start with one of the other books first, as all the information here can be a bit overwhelming. But if you’re ready to cultivate a deeper understanding of your body’s energies, this may be exactly what you’re looking for.

    What Is Spiritual Growth?

Spiritual growth is the process in which you awaken to your true self – not the outer circumstances and experiences that you’ve defined yourself by but the truth of who you really are.

Eternal. Infinite. Limitless. Expansive. Connected to everything and everyone. More than words could ever begin to describe. More than you’ve ever believed yourself to be.

Your spiritual journey is sacred and personal to you, so I can’t tell you exactly what you’ll discover through this experience. But I can tell you that it will be transformative, and it will likely take you to places you never imagined.

This isn’t an overnight journey. Years into it, you will still continue to learn and discover new things about yourself and the world around you.

And while this spiritual journey is one of the most beautiful and worthwhile experiences you’ll ever have, it can, at times, feel very lonely. That’s why it’s important to step outside yourself every once in a while and remember that you’re not alone. You’re never alone.

Below, find 44 spiritual growth quotes to guide you in all phases of your sacred spiritual journey. Let these quotes be gentle reminders that you are not your fears. You are not your stories. You are not the labels you’ve been given.

    You are more.

    Always, always more.

33 Spirituality Journal Prompts to Connect to Your Spirit

    Spirituality

    Who is your spiritual self?

Do you connect with your spiritual self in the silence of meditation or in the company of others? Do you feel most spiritually aligned at a religious temple, or does your spiritual self speak to you when you’re in the mountains or near the ocean?

What does spirituality mean to you? How does it show up in your daily life? How does it guide your actions and beliefs?

All of these questions could be journal prompts themselves, and there are no right or wrong answers.

Throughout your life, you’ll find people whose spiritual beliefs align with yours, and you’ll find others who have very different beliefs. You’ll also cross paths with people who are in different stages of their spiritual journeys. Some are only just beginning to connect with their own spirituality, while others have been on this journey for a long time.

    And that’s okay.

No two spiritual journeys look exactly the same. How you connect with your spiritual self is deeply personal to you.

Often, we may lose our spiritual selves amidst the noise of daily life. We get lost in the busyness of to-do lists and external obligations. We work. We run errands. We take care of our responsibilities. And as a result, we may feel like something’s missing. Something we can’t quite pinpoint. Something that goes beyond explanation.

That something is your connection with your inner self. In the midst of all the external noise, we forget to connect with our own spirits. We lose touch of our true purpose. We forget what it feels like to simply surrender and trust.

The 33 spirituality journal prompts below are meant to gently guide you within and help you to connect to your true self. There are no rules for how to answer these journal prompts, but I do urge you not to judge or criticize yourself. At all times, show yourself deep compassion and love. If possible, try to give yourself some time alone to focus on your journaling without distractions.

And remember that you are always worthy and deserving of unconditional love. You’re worthy of receiving love from yourself. You’re worthy of receiving love from other people. And you’re worthy of receiving love from a higher power.

Even if you’ve lost touch with your true self, you still possess infinite worthiness within you.

I hope these spirituality journal prompts support your total well-being and serve your mind, body, and spirit.

How To Use This Morning Routine Checklist

Every morning, you have a new opportunity for a fresh start. Each day is a blank slate. A brand new beginning. A chance to embrace your inner magic.

And the best way to set a positive foundation for the day ahead?

Create a morning routine that supports your mind, body, and soul.

A morning routine helps you to cultivate feelings of peace, calm, joy, and love within. It also gives you the chance to create a mindset of strength, resilience, and stability, so no matter what external circumstances you encounter, you’ll be able to stay true to yourself and your path.

To help you create a morning routine that truly serves and supports your mind, body, and spirit, I’ve created a free morning routine checklist for manifesting your dreams and desires. This weekly checklist includes 11 activities you can easily incorporate into your morning routine to lift your vibration and start the day on a positive note.

And if you don’t have a lot of time, that’s okay! Many of these activities can be combined, and most take just a couple minutes at most to complete. Some, like expressing gratitude, you can do while showering, eating breakfast, and getting ready for your day. (Multitasking for the win.)

Use this morning routine checklist to help you stay on track of your goals. You don’t have to do every single item on this list every day, but try to see if you can incorporate at least five items into your morning each day.

And know this: the time you do spend on these activities is 100% worth it.

The very best thing you can do for yourself every morning is to embody a vibration of deep love, abundance, and gratitude for this life you get to live.

Allow yourself to believe deep within that you already have it all. You’re already successful. You’re already abundant. You’re already loved. You’re already everything you can imagine and so much more.

The small amount of time you spend on each of these practices will have long-lasting positive effects on your inner and outer worlds.

Below, I explain each item on the checklist in a little more detail so you know exactly how to incorporate it into your morning routine.

    Morning Routine Checklist For Manifestation

    Express Gratitude

Most of the items on this list aren’t things you have to do every single morning. However, if I had to pick one single thing that you should do daily for manifestation, it’s expressing gratitude.

Why? Gratitude and love are the highest vibrations. When you express gratitude, you’re essentially telling the Universe, “More of this please.”

So if you show appreciation for the money you already possess, you open yourself up to receiving more. If you show appreciation for your health, you allow more good health to flow to you. And if you express thankfulness for all the love you get to experience in your life, you open the door to receiving even more love, both from outside sources and from within.

Luckily, expressing gratitude doesn’t have to be a complicated practice! As you get ready in the morning, you can simply choose to focus on the aspects of your life that you love and appreciate. You might show your sincere thankfulness for this brand new day as soon as you wake up. You can also have a dedicated gratitude journal in which you write three things you’re grateful for each morning.

    Recite Affirmations

Positive affirmations are empowering statements rooted love, joy, and confidence. They’re designed to uplift and encourage while boosting your self-belief and supporting your mental and emotional well-being. Positive affirmations can also lift your vibration and help you get into receiving mode.

You can use positive affirmations in your manifestation morning routine in the same ways you express gratitude: repeat affirmations throughout your morning and write a few down you want to focus on for the day. To help you remember, you might leave post-its in visible spots throughout your house with uplifting affirmations written on them.

    Journal

There are several ways you can journal for manifestation. My personal favorite is scripting. Scripting is the practice of writing about your dreams and desires in story-like form, as if you already possess everything you want to manifest.

So if you want to manifest love, you might write about a day in your dream life with the love of your life. You could also write about the first time you meet your future partner or even your first date. The possibilities are endless. The key is to write as though everything you want is happening right now in this present moment. (And also be sure to allow yourself to feel all of the positive emotions that come with it!)

Don’t have a lot of time in the morning for a long journal entry? That’s okay. You can combine several practices on this list for a quick five-minute journaling session. For instance, you could write down three things you’re grateful for, three positive affirmations, your daily intentions, and one small step you’ll take today to manifest your dreams. (P.S. I’ve made this easy for you with a free manifestation template that you can download and start using today.)

    Meditate

Meditation itself is a powerful addition to your morning routine, whether it’s a mindfulness meditation or a dedicated manifestation meditation. A mindfulness meditation will allow you to ground yourself to the present moment and cultivate a sense of calm, peace, and stability. For a dedicated manifestation meditation, you can include visualization, affirmations, gratitude, releasing limiting beliefs, and letting go. Read my how-to guide below to learn more about how to practice meditation for manifestation.

    Visualize

Visualization can easily be incorporated into your meditation practice or tied in with your vision board. You don’t necessarily have to do a long visualization practice every day, but it can be helpful to practice visualization a few times a week.

You might visualize a day in your dream life, allowing yourself to experience it using all of your senses. You can also visualize specific scenarios, like getting the job of your dreams or an incredible first date. As you visualize, remember to feel all of the positive emotions associated with your visualization, and carry those good vibes with you as you step into your day.

    Set Daily Intentions

Daily intentions are kind of like mini daily goals. Your intentions should align with your ultimate, overarching dream of who you want to be and how you want your life to look. You can set your intentions based on your specific circumstances of the day, or you can choose a more universal intention to focus on.

Here are a few examples of daily intentions to help you get started:

    • Today, I will be present in every moment today.
    • I will be my most authentic self in all moments.
    • I will accomplish everything I focus on.
    • I will accept all opportunities that come my way.
    • In all moments, I will find things to be grateful for.
    • I will be the highest version of myself.
    • I will spread kindness in my words and actions.

    Vision Board

A vision board is a collection of words and/or images that represent your highest self living your ideal life. Common components of a vision board might include your career, relationships, home, car, health, wealth, spirituality, lifestyle, hobbies, self-care activities, and anything that represents the life of your dreams. You can create a vision board on poster board, printer paper, a bulletin board, or even on your phone; your options are truly limitless.

Take a few minutes in the morning to look at your vision board. Align with the positive emotions you associate with the images and words: love, freedom, joy, peace, abundance. Allow these feelings to permeate your cells so they’ll stay with you throughout your day.

Here are a couple posts to help you get started making your own powerful vision board:

    Raise Vibration

Raising your vibration means to align yourself with the emotions of already having what you desire. Love, gratitude, joy, peace, and freedom are all positive emotions you can carry with you throughout the day. All of the practices on this morning routine checklist will help you with raising your vibration, but you might also include some additional practices that you know make you feel good. These practices could include reading a chapter of a book, listening to music or a podcast, or simply sitting down for breakfast with your family.

    Laugh

If you have an extra minute or two, watch a funny YouTube video or find silly memes to send to your best friend. Start the day on a positive note!

    Talk To The Universe

This is one of the most commonly overlooked aspects of manifestation: the simple act of talking to the Universe. Some people call it prayer, but if you’re not comfortable with that term, you can simply call it communicating.

How can the Universe help you today? Do you need a little extra strength? Could you use some reassurance that you’re on the right path? Do you need a sign of alignment or gentle nudge in the right direction?

Instead of keeping these thoughts and feelings within, tell the Universe what you need. You might be surprised at how quickly the Universe responds through signs, symbols, and loving messages.

Choose One Small Step To Take Today

This is another one of those simple yet overlooked aspects that can make a profound difference in receiving your desired manifestations. An important part of manifestation is taking inspired action. This is action you take based on your deep inner knowing. (It should feel good and right deep within.)

Each day, you have the opportunity to take small steps toward your dreams. A small step could be creating a 30-day plan for one of your goals. It could mean sending an email to someone you hope will agree to be your mentor. It could mean dressing up in clothes that make you feel good and taking pictures for your dating profile. This small step could truly be anything, as long as it comes from a place that feels right to you.

The all-or-nothing mentality can be tempting, but it can also quickly lead to burnout. Small steps aren’t as seductive, but just imagine this: if you take one small step a day for the next 30 days, in a month, you’ll be 30 steps ahead of where you are now.

    Spiritual Healing

Spiritual healing is the process of letting go of everything you aren’t in order to embrace what you are. It’s a path that leads you to uncovering the divinity that exists within yourself. And it’s a journey rooted in connection: connection with others, with love, with the universe, and with your own soul.

For each of us, spiritual healing is a journey that brings us back home to ourselves when we’re feeling lost. It’s often a process of releasing, embracing, expanding, transforming, and sometimes just being.

And it’s a reminder that you are your own greatest healer. You are your greatest guide. The answers you seek are always within.

Below, discover 33 profound spiritual healing quotes to guide your path. These quotes are meant to help you love both the darkness and light within and gently lead you back home to yourself. Some quotes may resonate more than others in this moment. That’s completely okay. For now, take what you need.

In the future, when you’re in a different place in your spiritual journey, you might come back and see if a different quote resonates and reveals something new for you.

And if you’re feeling spiritually lost, know that it’s okay, too. Sometimes, being lost isn’t such a bad thing. The best thing you can do for yourself in this moment is to ask, “What does my soul need right now?”

Then, whatever the answer is, go there. Give yourself what you need. Lean into love.

How the Law of Rhythm Influences Your Daily Life
Pin this for later! How the Law of Rhythm Influences Your Daily Life

    The Law of Rhythm

Everything in the universe is a cycle. The seasons. The moon. Your breath. You.

Nothing stays in one state forever.

These are the words I write in my journal in the early hours of a spring morning as the sun begins to rise, painting hints of pink across the sleepy blue sky. This, too, is a cycle, I think. The sun rising and setting, making space for the moon.

From morning to night, dawn to dusk, and sunrise to sunset, each day’s cycle is perfect, measurable, and consistent.

I’ve been thinking about the 12 Laws of the Universe a lot lately, but this one has been at the forefront of my mind for some time: the Law of Rhythm, which states that everything comes in cycles, and nothing stays in one state forever.

As I walk through my day, I search for cycles in places where I hadn’t noticed them before.

For instance, the squirrels that visit the backyard are never there in the morning, but I can always count on them to make an appearance around noon, when they decide to search through the grass for hidden treats.

And every month, I experience a burst of energy for several days in a row that has me doing, creating, building, and writing for hours at a time.

Just yesterday, I was in the shower when a scene for the fiction story I’ve been working on started playing in my head. I saw every detail, and I heard the characters speaking like I’d unknowingly hit “play” on the remote control in my mind. The movie unfolded from behind my eyelids in dazzling color.

And it didn’t stop there; a second scene started playing, too.

I rushed out of the shower and pulled up a blank Google Doc to frantically type it all up before I forgot. Several pages of single-spaced lines quickly filled the white screen.

Afterwards, I worked on a 3,000+ word blog article, then did some more creative writing in the evening. I woke up this morning and continued writing. And now, I’m here at my laptop, writing again. I am currently in an energized flow state. It feels exciting and invigorating, like the cells beneath my skin are all dancing in exuberance.

But I know that it won’t last forever. This isn’t pessimism; this is part of the cycle. And the cycle, I’ve learned, is a good thing.

In a few days, I’ll reach a point when the inspired ideas pause. I used to think there was something inherently wrong about this – like I had done something wrong to bring this state upon myself.

But there is nothing wrong in surrendering to the pause. In fact, this is exactly right.

So I’ll step back, let go, and allow myself to take a break until the inspired ideas return once more – which, they always do.

This is my personal cycle: energized creating and restful pauses. Neither is better or worse than the other. Both are important. Both are needed.

So I’ve learned to no longer cling on tightly to the energy or to the pause. I’ve discovered that instead of fighting it, I can become one with this flow. And when I do this, I find peace.

This is only one of the many cycles I’ve watched unfold in my life.

What cycles are unfolding in your own life? How can you embrace these cycles instead of trying to control the narrative? Below, we’ll explore the Law of Rhythm a little deeper and how it may play a part in your own everyday world.

A quote by Zanna Keithley that says: Everything in the universe is in a cycle. The seasons. The moon. Your breath. You. Nothing stays in one state forever. That’s why everything feels so heavy: because you’re holding onto what you were meant to release. This experience was meant to teach you; you were never meant to carry the weight of it for so long. Honor the cycle you’re in by releasing what no longer serves you. Let it in, then let it go. Make space for a new season to come forth.

The Law of Rhythm and Hardships vs. Ease

What hardships are you currently experiencing in your life?

And when difficulties arise, how do you respond? Are you able to remain grounded and at peace no matter how rocky and unstable things become? Or do you get overwhelmed by the stress of it all and worry that these hard times will last forever?

If your answer is the latter, don’t judge or criticize yourself. I think most of us tend to get lost in the murky waters of hardships and difficulties. When you’re experiencing hard times, it’s hard to believe that brighter days will ever come again.

But know this: it is a universal law that the difficult moments and hard times will not last.

According to the Law of Rhythm, no hardship lasts forever. When you’re experiencing difficulties in your personal or professional life, know that it will pass.

By understanding that this is just part of the cycle you’re in, you can relax and feel at peace knowing that the hardship will turn into ease just as summer turns into fall.

And when things are going well, you become less likely to take this time for granted. You know that this period of ease may not last forever, and that’s okay. You’re able to honor the cycle and feel gratitude for all that you have in this moment.

The only way a hardship can last any longer than it’s meant to is if you’re somehow holding onto it. There may even be times when the hardship has already passed, but you’re allowing it to still exist in your mind.

For instance, if you’ve experienced difficulties in your relationship, you may have already talked them through with your partner, and things may be better now, but you’re still holding onto the emotions of the experience within.

When you do this, it may feel like the hardship will never pass. This is when you must go within and uncover what you’re still holding onto, then allow yourself to let go of thoughts and emotions that no longer serve you.

The Law of Rhythm and Doing vs. Being

As I discussed above, I’ve learned that I experience energetic surges every month, and during this period, it feels like I can create forever.

In general, I’m not someone who “relaxes” a lot. Writing is both my career and my hobby, so my brain is constantly churning, searching for the right ideas, words, and sentences to convey what’s in my head.

But sometimes, I just need a break. I used to fight this because I believed the need for a break was a failure on my part. It took me a while to understand that this was part of the cycle. And when I surrendered to the cycle and stepped back from creating, eventually, when I did return to creating, my work would be even better because I gave myself that time.

Sometimes, I do. Other times, I just am.

This is all in accordance with the Law Of Rhythm.

According to the Law of Rhythm, you will experience times of productivity and times of rest. You might also call these periods “times of doing” and “times of being.”

Neither time is better or worse than the other, and both are needed in order for you to live your most authentic life.

You might be able to see how this plays out in your own life. How do you feel when you work non-stop day after day without a moment to rest? Or conversely, how do you feel when you lay around on the couch for days or weeks at a time without actually doing anything productive?

Some cultures may prioritize one thing or the other, but the truth is, both doing and being are needed in order for you to thrive. When you resist one or the other, you resist the laws of the universe and detract from your own highest good.

Because I think many of us tend to uphold the “virtues” of productivity and doing at the expense of rest, I want to end this section with this: the next time you need to cancel plans, take a rest day, or spend time nurturing your soul, don’t feel guilty or try to resist.

This is how you honor your own inner rhythm and cycle, and it is often the very best thing you can do not just for yourself but for all.

The Law of Rhythm Journal Prompts

As you’ve been reading through these sections, you may have already started thinking about how the Law of Rhythm plays a role in your own life. Below are a list of journal prompts you can use for deeper insight into the cycles that you experience and how you approach and react to each cycle.

    • What cycles do I see play out in my own life?
    • Are there any cycles I tend to resist, or that I’ve allowed myself to believe are inherently “wrong”?
    • How does it feel internally when I try to resist the cycles that unfold in my life?
    • What’s one example of a cycle of hardship vs. ease that I experience in my life? (This can be in regards to work, relationships, finances, creativity, or any other personal or professional area of your life.)
    • Considering what I know about the Law of Rhythm and cycles, how can I approach hardships and difficulties that appear in my life?
    • How do I see the cycle of doing vs. being unfold in my life? Do I experience resistance to either one?
    • How do I feel when I try to resist my own inner rhythm and cycles?
    • What mindset/attitude do I want to cultivate moving forward in regards to the Law of Rhythm and the cycles I experience in my world?

What are some of the cycles that you’ve experienced in your own life? How does understanding the Law of Rhythm influence your mindset when experiencing hardships? Leave your questions and comments in the comment box below!

    What is a Chakra?

When you’re first learning about chakras, it can be a little confusing to understand what exactly they are, especially without a proper explanation before diving right in. Some guided meditations may jump straight to describing these glowing orbs of colored light within you, which can often be more than a little disconcerting at first.

So let’s simplify and break down what exactly a chakra is and why it’s important.

You can’t see your chakras in an x-ray. Rather, you experience them through feelings, sensations, and your own intuition.

So what exactly does a chakra do? Ideally, your life force, or prana, is flowing to and through your chakras at all times (through energy channels called nadis), which allows you to live in alignment with your highest self.

Energy is meant to flow, and when your chakras are open, your life force energy can flow freely in and out of each of your energy centers. (You might hear the words chakras and energy centers used interchangeably.)

But what happens when a chakra becomes blocked? When one of your chakras becomes blocked, your life force energy stagnates. This results in mental, physical, emotional, and/or spiritual blockages.

For instance, grief and betrayal are both two experiences that may result in blockages in the heart chakra. As a result, you may experience feelings of loneliness, depression, distrust, and anger.

In this post, we’re going to focus on the seven main chakras, but there are actually 114 chakras throughout your body, and some people believe there to be more. It’s important to keep in mind that while each chakra has its own role and individual attributes, they act as one whole system. When one chakra is blocked or overactive, this affects the energy throughout your entire chakra system.

Below, I’ll explain a little more about the chakra colors and offer a rundown on the attributes and meanings of each of your seven main chakras.

And if you’re interested in exploring more about chakras and want to begin your own powerful journey of chakra healing, you can check out my Chakra Healing Bundle, which contains a Chakra Healing eBook, Chakra Healing Workbook, and 8-Week Chakra Healing Guide. History of Chakra Colors

You may be familiar with the idea that chakras each have a corresponding color connected to it. Here’s the list:

    • Root Chakra: Red
    • Sacral Chakra: Orange
    • Solar Plexus Chakra: Yellow
    • Heart Chakra: Green
    • Throat Chakra: Light Blue
    • Third Eye Chakra: Indigo (Also associated with blue and purple.)
    • Crown Chakra: Purple (Also associated with white and gold.)

While these are the commonly accepted colors for the chakras, this is actually a fairly recent development in the history of chakras. In fact, most ancient traditions never associated chakras with specific colors. Instead, they were more likely to associate a chakra with a specific mantra or shape.

So where did the idea of the chakra colors come from? In 1970, author Christopher Hills first wrote about the chakra colors in his book, Nuclear Evolution: Discovery of the Rainbow Body. Since this original publishing, the chakra colors I listed above have become widely accepted throughout the western world.

So what does this mean? Someone just made the chakra colors up? Does that mean the chakra colors a lie?

Here’s my answer: No, but it’s up to you to determine whether the chakra colors resonate with you.

I know people who personally resonate with the chakra colors and who have used color therapy as a form of healing their chakras. Color therapy is the practice of surrounding yourself with the color of the chakra you want to open, activate, and/or heal. For instance, if you want to connect with your heart chakra, you might wear a green shirt, write in green pen, eat green vegetables, drink a green smoothie, and place green items around your work station.

Additionally, many energy healers sense and can often see certain colors within and surrounding other people; these colors often correlate directly with the designated chakra colors.

But if you personally don’t resonate with the chakra colors? That’s okay. Maybe you’ve tried some chakra meditations that instruct you to connect with each chakra by perceiving it as a brightly colored orb in its designated color, but you don’t feel like this does anything for you.

Like I said, that’s completely okay. You might choose instead to view it as a swirling vortex, a colorless ball of energy, or a bright white or golden light.

You can also choose to focus less on the color and more on a different aspect of the chakra, such as its associated mantra. I’ve listed the mantras for each chakra in the next section.

Whether or not you associate with the chakra colors, know that there’s no right or wrong path as long as you’re willing to do the deep inner work to connect with and heal your chakras.

    Crystals and Gemstones

If you’re anything like me when I was first learning about crystals, you may feel a natural pull towards crystals and gemstones, but you’re not entirely sure what exactly to do with them.

I approached my journey with crystals assuming they were probably really complicated to use and that I had to have some kind of special power to make them work for me. However, all it took was a few Google searches and a trip to the local bookstore to realize that I’d been way off in this assumption.

I didn’t have to possess any superpowers to work with crystals.

I just needed to have an open mind, an open heart, and the willingness to trust and believe.

If you’re looking to incorporate crystals in your daily life, I’ve included everything you need to get started below: how to cleanse, program, and use your crystals, plus how to use crystal grids and pendulums.

I’ve also included a section on using crystals for manifestation as well as the best crystals for beginners. Finally, throughout this post, you’ll find links to crystals and accessories you can purchase today.

It may seem like an overwhelming amount of information at first, but I’ve simplified it into the most basic steps. And I promise, once you get started, you’ll find that using crystals and gemstones in your daily life is very easy. In fact, once you begin experiencing their profound transformational power, you’ll wonder why you ever waited so long to start.

    How to Cleanse Crystals

When you first purchase or receive a crystal, it’s likely touched many hands before you. It may have had a previous owner, or it has traveled long distances in a shipping container. However your crystal comes to you, you can bet that it still holds the energy of the people and places it’s seen.

That’s why cleansing your crystals after you receive them is so important. By cleansing your crystal, you’re starting with a blank energy slate, and you can then intentionally program it with your own positive energy.

Additionally, you should cleanse your crystal regularly, especially if it’s part of a piece of jewelry you wear often or if it’s one that you carry with you throughout the day. Your crystals continue to hold and store energy, and if they’re holding onto too much energy, they start to lose their effectiveness.

Cleansing your crystals releases this energy and allows them to be fully effective for you.

Luckily, cleansing crystals is easy. Use any of the methods below for cleansing your crystals and releasing trapped and stored energy within.

Water: For this method, I like to use clean, natural water like a creek, river, or stream, but it’s totally okay (and often easier) to use a faucet as well. Hold your stone beneath the surface or underneath the running water to cleanse. Just make sure to first do a quick Google search or consult a book on crystals to make sure water is safe for your stone. You don’t want to use this method for soft stones like Selenite.

Use Selenite or Clear Quartz: Selenite and Clear Quartz are unique in that they’re able to cleanse and purify other crystals. Lay your crystal on a piece of Selenite or Clear Quartz for at least twenty-four hours. If you can’t place your crystal on top, you can also place them side-by-side with their edges touching.

Nature: Nature is a powerful healer, not just for humans but for crystals as well. Lay your crystals out in nature and let them experience the healing presence of the earth for a day. You can place crystals on the soil, on a tree branch, on a potted plant, among the blades of grass, in your garden, or anywhere else outside where you feel a sense of peace and harmony.

Sun: Many crystals love the bright energy and light of the sun. Just make sure first that this is safe for your stone. Some stones, like Amethyst, shouldn’t be placed directly in the sun for too long.

Moon: You can place your crystals outside overnight anytime, but this is especially powerful during the Full Moon when the moonlight is brightest.

    How to Program Crystals

Programming crystals is all about setting intentions. This allows you to truly align with why you chose this crystal and what guidance, answers, or healing you hope it can provide for you.

It helps to come up with a sentence or two that aligns with the intention you want to set.

For instance, if you want to embrace more creativity in your life, your intention might be, “I am filled with inspired ideas and unlimited creativity. Limitless creativity is always at my fingertips.”

For protection from external negative energy, your intention may be, “I am protected from negative energy. All of the energy that flows within and around me supports my highest good and total well-being.

To begin programming your crystal, find a quiet spot where you’ll be free from outside distractions. You may want to light candles or cleanse your space before you begin. Do what feels most comfortable for you.

Hold your crystal within your palm and close your eyes. Visualize your intentions coming to life. For instance, to manifest more creativity, visualize yourself living your most creative life. Feel the positive feelings associated with embracing your inner creativity. Continue your visualization until you feel that the crystal has been programmed with your intention. (This will simply be an inner knowing.)

Some people like to begin by raising their crystal to their lips and gently blowing on the crystal. As you breathe, internally state your intention, repeating this for several minutes. If this practice feels comfortable for you, you can add it to your programming ritual.

    How to Use Crystals

There are several ways you can use crystals, some of which are more passive and others that require more active involvement. Even during the more passive practices, though, it’s still important to keep your intention in mind. Return to this intention throughout the day, and acknowledge the work your crystal is doing for you.

Wear Crystals as Jewelry: Rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings aren’t only beautiful, but they offer an easy way to keep your crystals nearby throughout the day. By wearing your gemstones as jewelry, your chosen stones can protect your energy, calm your mind, and soothe your spirit.

Meditate With Crystals: If you already have a meditation practice, or are looking to start one, crystals can be a profound addition to your practice. As you meditate, you can hold your crystal(s) in your palms or near your heart center. You can also place the stones over their corresponding energy center (chakra) while laying down. To learn more about chakras, check out my introduction to your body’s energy centers here. And to learn about specific chakra healing crystals and stones, check out this post.

Keep in Your Office/Workspace: Keep your gemstones visible in your office or workspace, or if you have a job that requires you to walk around, see if you can keep it in your pocket or somewhere accessible to you. Blue Lace Agate is the perfect crystal to keep with you while you work as it calms your mind, soothes your spirit, and helps you to maintain tranquility. Black Tourmaline is another one of my favorites because it protects you from external negative energy.

Create a Sacred Space: Crystals, candles, essential oils, pillows, books, plants . . . any and all of these components can be used to create a sacred space for yourself. Whatever you want to include, make your sacred space your own. Allow it to be a safe place filled with positive, healing energy. You can fill your sacred space with as many crystals as you want. Allow this to be a place where you can meditate, journal, or simply sit and hold your crystals, restoring harmony and peace within. For creating your own sacred space, check out my in-depth guide on how to create the perfect meditation table for you.

Create a Crystal Grid: More on this below!

    How to Use Crystal Grids

A crystal grid is a special geometric layout of stones formed with a specific intention in mind, such as to heal one or more of your chakras. The central stone in the grid corresponds with your intention, and the surrounding stones amplify your intentions and support the flow of positive energy.

To begin creating your grid, you first want to set your intention. Why are you creating this grid today? Know that there are no wrong answers. Maybe you want to manifest abundance. Maybe you want to align with your higher self. Or maybe you want to cultivate the courage and strength to make a big step in your personal life.

Whatever your intention is, take a moment to align with it and allow it to guide you as you create your grid.

After you’ve set your intention, you can begin creating your grid. To do this, you’ll want to pick your grid shape (triangle, circle, square) and which crystals and gemstones you want to incorporate into your crystal grid.

Choose crystals that coincide with your intention. For instance, if your intention is to open your heart and cultivate more self-love, you might incorporate crystals such as Rose Quartz, Rhodonite, Pink Opal, and Clear Quartz.

Place the stone that most powerfully resonates with your intention in the center; this is called the Anchor Stone. Place the other stones around the Anchor Stone in the specific layout you’ve chosen. If this is your first time creating a crystal grid, it may help to use a grid template. You can find some on Amazon (I’ve linked to a few below) or online. I really like this article from Love & Light School of Crystal Therapy on how to create a crystal grid, and it also includes links to a free template pack.

You don’t have to only include crystals in your grid, though. Do you have a locket from your grandmother that represents unconditional love to you? Use this powerful loving energy in your grid!

Finally, you can activate the grid by stating your intention aloud. You can also use a clear quartz point to activate your crystal grid. The article I linked to above gives a detailed explanation on how to use a clear quartz point to activate your grid.

Now that your crystal grid is ready, you’ll want to make a point of sitting with your grid daily to connect with its energy. I like to do this through meditation, but if you don’t meditate, you can simply sit in front of it. Think back to your intention. If your intention is to cultivate more self-love and self-compassion, feel the energy of unconditional love flowing to and through you.

    How to Use Crystal Pendulums

A pendulum is a string, cord, or chain with a small object at the end. This object is usually a triangular shaped crystal, but some pendulums will have objects made of wood, stone, metal, or glass on the end.

Pendulums are most often used to gain clarity and insight into a question or issue you may be having. The practice of crystal dowsing or pendulum dowsing means to use your pendulum to receive guidance on a situation you may be dealing with.

There’s no rules about what kind of situation this might be, or whether it’s objectively big or small. You might turn to your pendulum for help on finding your lost car keys or for guidance on what to eat for dinner tonight. You can also turn to it for guidance on whether you should leave your job or move across the country or fully commit to that new person you’ve started seeing.

There’s a lot more to be said about the power of the pendulum, and if you’re curious to learn more, I encourage you to read my blog post on all things pendulum-related here.

For this post, we’re going to skip right to the how-to’s: how to use a crystal pendulum to receive guidance on any situation you may be encountering in your current experience.

Before you use your pendulum, you’ll want to cleanse and charge it as outlined in the steps for cleansing and programming crystals above. Consider the time you spend working with your pendulum to be sacred, removing distractions so that you can focus solely on the connection between you and the pendulum.

Here are the essential steps for using a pendulum. Again, I go into a bit more detail in the blog post I linked to above.

    1. Sit in a comfortable position holding your pendulum between your thumb and forefinger (using your dominant hand). Hold the pendulum out in front of you until it becomes motionless.
    2. If this is the first time you’re using your pendulum, you’ll want to learn how it communicates. To do this, you can simply say, “Please show me a yes response.” Patiently watch and wait for the pendulum to start moving; it might move side-to-side, back-and-forth, clockwise, or counterclockwise. Make note of the direction it moves. This is your “yes” response. Do the same thing for a “no” response. If you’d like, you can also ask for a “maybe” or “neutral” response. You can also ask questions you already know the answer to, such as your name, birthday, and where you live. Just make sure to formulate your questions in a “yes/no” format.
    3. Once you’re comfortable with your pendulum and understand how it communicates, you can begin asking it deeper questions. (Or keep it lighthearted, if you’d like.) Just remember to phrase your questions to have yes/no answers, and be as specific as possible to get clear answers
    4. You can also use your pendulum for help finding lost items or people. If you lost your keys, hold the pendulum over a map of your house and let it lead you to the right location. On a larger scale, you can hold the pendulum over a map of a city, state, or even the world.
    5. Again, for deeper insight into pendulums, I definitely encourage you to check out my post, How to Use a Pendulum (A Complete Guide).

How to Use Crystals for Manifestation

Manifestation is the practice of visualizing your dreams and vibrating at the frequency of your desires as if they’ve already come true. This belief is rooted in the idea that what we give out, we get back.

So if you vibrate at the frequency of love, you attract more love to you. If you vibrate at the frequency of abundance, you attract more abundance to you. And if you vibrate at the frequency of joy, you attract more joyful experiences into your life.

So how exactly do crystals help with manifestation? Crystals help you to become the energy of what it is that you want to manifest. They restore harmony and balance within you and empower you to live as your highest and most authentic self. I

f you want to manifest love, your chosen crystal isn’t simply helping you to attract love; it’s gently guiding you to release any blockages and barriers you may have to receiving love and helping you to heal any inner pain you’re still holding onto. Your crystal will guide you to cultivate a deep sense of love within so that you truly become the embodiment of love. And by becoming the embodiment of love, you become a magnet for more love to flow into your life.

To use crystals for manifestation, you’ll want to follow the steps outlined above for cleansing and programming crystals. My favorite way to program a crystal for manifestation is to hold it in my hands during meditation and visualize my dreams and desires coming true while feeling all of the positive, high-vibe emotions related to my dreams.

Below, I’ve listed some of the powerful crystals that help with manifesting different emotions and experiences into your life. You can use any of the methods I outlined in the How to Use Crystals section to help you get started with using crystals to manifest what you desire. I will note that when it comes to using crystals for manifestation, I recommend being intentional with placement whenever possible.

If you’re keeping a crystal nearby, think of the ways you can amplify the crystal’s powers. For instance, if you want to manifest financial abundance, you might keep a small Citrine crystal in your wallet or purse. Want to manifest creative ideas? Keep a Carnelian gemstone in your creative studio or with all of your art supplies.

    Crystals for Manifestation

    • Manifest Abundance: Citrine, Pyrite, Clear Quartz, Tiger’s Eye
    • Manifest Love: Rose Quartz, Rhodonite, Pink Topaz, Emerald
    • Manifest Friendship: Pink Opal, Citrine
    • Manifest Health: Garnet, Bloodstone, Clear Quartz, Selenite
    • Manifest Creativity: Carnelian, Citrine, Amethyst

To boost your manifestation powers, pair the crystals above with Aventurine, Goldstone, or Jade, which are all powerful amplifier crystals.

    Best Crystals for Beginners

If you’re just starting your crystal collection, I’ve listed some of the best crystals to start with below. However, don’t be afraid to walk into a crystal shop or scroll through an online crystal store and simply find the ones that speak to you. When I bought my first crystal, I knew absolutely nothing about crystals and simply admired them for their beauty. I picked out a beautiful Amethyst crystal that called to me, and it’s still one of my absolute favorites to this day.

    • Clear Quartz: Clarity, Manifestation, Healing, Spiritual Growth
    • Selenite: Purity, Peace, Light, Clarity, Consciousness
    • Amethyst: Peace, Spirituality, Intuition, Calmness, Wisdom
    • Rose Quartz: Love, Compassion, Peace, Friendship
    • Citrine: Joy, Abundance, Prosperity, Energy
    • Black Tourmaline: Energy Protection, Grounding

Also remember that Clear Quartz and Selenite have the special ability of cleansing other crystals, so I definitely recommend having at least one of these crystals in your collection.
