40 Gentle Affirmations For Heartbreak And Healing
Below, discover 40 gentle affirmations for heartbreak to support you during every phase of your healing journey.
Positive Affirmations & Heartbreak
The terms positive affirmations and heartbreak don’t seem to go together very well. Experiencing heartbreak can be one of the most profoundly difficult experiences in a person’s life. And you can’t simply gloss over the depth of your feelings with some feel-good words, even if you wish you could.
So I want to make it clear: using affirmations for heartbreak isn’t about suppressing the pain you feel.
In fact, the affirmations you use should be geared toward allowing yourself to feel all of your emotions: the good and the bad.
They should also be focused on letting yourself take your time through your healing journey, not rushing through this difficult experience, and giving yourself the space you need to heal at your own pace.
And finally, they should also include gentle reminders that you are worthy of deep and unconditional love, no matter what.
But this isn’t just about external love. More importantly, it’s about the love you show yourself. Because you are worthy of your own time, care, and attention. You are worthy of loving yourself fully, in every season of your life. And you deserve to be loved, exactly as you are.
You are enough. You have always been enough. You will always be enough.
Below, you’ll find 40 gentle affirmations for heartbreak and healing. Some of these affirmations may serve you better during different parts of your healing journey, so choose the ones that resonate most in this moment.
Let them serve and support your mind, body, and soul.

About Your Free Affirmation Wallpaper
Below, you’ll find 35 beautiful images for free positive affirmation wallpaper specifically designed for your phone’s lock screen. Each image includes a unique design and uplifting affirmation meant to level up your mindset and remind you of your inherent and unconditional worthiness.
Before you choose the affirmation wallpaper that works best for you, here are a few notes:
- If you’re saving this wallpaper to your phone, just hold down the image and save to your photo gallery. Easy peasy!
- I know how annoying it is to find a beautiful design to use for your phone’s wallpaper . . . only for a giant website logo or site address to be plastered in the middle of it. Because of that, I chose not to include my name or website address on these designs. I just ask that you use these for personal use only, and if you do share on social media, please tag and/or link back to this page.
- When you set this wallpaper to be the lock screen on your phone, make sure to turn the perspective zoom off so the whole image will show on the screen.
- Do you have a vision board album on your phone? If so, you can also save these quotes to your digital vision board. (Click here for more vision board affirmations and here for empowering vision board quotes.)
- Finally, I usually compress images before uploading them on my site, but I didn’t want to lower the quality of these images. Because of that, you may need to wait just a couple extra seconds for the images to fully load. (But I promise, it’s worth it!)
And that’s it! I hope the positive affirmation wallpaper below brings you endless peace, joy, and love within. (And more than anything, I hope these designs remind you that you are always, always worthy.)

44 Positive Affirmations For Stress, Worry, And Anxiety
In this post, discover 44 positive affirmations for stress, worry, anxiety, and overwhelm. Allow these uplifting affirmations to help you feel calm, strong, and empowered in all moments.
Responding to Stress
How often do you feel stressed in your daily life? Stress might arise from work pressure, personal relationships, financial hardship, and even the pressure you put on yourself to achieve. You might even feel it so regularly, you don’t actually notice it as being somehow wrong—it just feels like a normal part of your everyday world.
You can’t always make stressful situations go away, but trying to ignore the fact that you feel stressed is never the answer. If you know a little about chakras and energy healing, you know that trying to ignore heavy feelings doesn’t make them disappear; rather, this stagnant energy remains inside you. In time, this trapped energy will begin to manifest into even heavier emotions.
For instance, when you try to bury your stress, it might manifest into anger, or it could cause you to lose your courage and confidence.
So how can you respond to stress so that it doesn’t feel so overwhelming?
First, remember that in all moments, you are in control of your own energy. You have power over how you feel. This means that you can feel stress without giving it the power to control your thoughts and emotions.
I find it helpful to acknowledge my stress while also recognizing that I am not my stress. It may be something I feel, but it doesn’t define me.
In these moments, I often take a step back, practice a breathing exercise, and say, “I recognize that I feel stressed right now, and that’s okay. I’m going to be extra compassionate with myself right now.”
Journaling about my anxiety and stress has also been super helpful, as it allows me to probe the source of these feelings with non-judgmental awareness.
Finally, positive affirmations have been instrumental in helping me to remain calm, no matter what’s happening in the world around me.
What makes positive affirmations for stress helpful is that they allow you to feel your difficult and heavy emotions while reminding you that you have the power to rise above emotions that don’t serve or support your total well-being.
They also remind you of your deep courage, strength, and resilience. You can also use positive affirmations to cultivate inner peace and serenity, no matter what’s going on in the world around you.
Below, you’ll find 44 positive affirmations for stress, worry, and anxiety. Use these affirmations to take back control of your thoughts and emotions any time stress begins to feel overwhelming.

40 Positive Affirmations for Overcoming Challenges
In this post, discover 40 positive affirmations for overcoming challenges, facing adversity, and getting through hard times with dignity and grace. Use these affirmations to guide you in your journey and help you to find your inner courage during all seasons of your life.
Facing Challenges and Adversity
I use positive affirmations often throughout my day, but I’ve found that the times I need them the most is when I’m facing a challenge or difficult situation. However, in order for a positive affirmation to truly help me with the challenge I’m facing, I can’t just say something positive; I have to truly feel it in my bones.
What does this mean?
Let’s say you wake up knowing that today’s going to be a particularly difficult day. You look at yourself in the mirror, take a deep breath, and say, “I have all the tools I need to handle anything that comes my way today.”
These words alone won’t help you—not if you don’t truly believe them.
And beyond that, you have to live them as well.
That means that when you’re dealing with obstacles and challenges, instead of giving in to the negative feelings that weigh down on you, you have to go back to your empowering words. Repeat them. Feel them deep within.
I have all the tools I need to handle anything that comes my way today.
I am strong, capable, and competent.
I’ve got this.
But it doesn’t stop here.
Because it isn’t really just about “handling” or “getting through” obstacles and roadblocks.
It’s about knowing in your heart that these hard times are serving some kind of purpose. It’s about being willing to receive the lessons that the difficult moments can teach you. It’s about discovering the beauty that can be found in life’s messy moments.
And it’s also about trusting that if things aren’t working out the way you want them to, it’s often because something better is coming.
To be clear, this doesn’t mean you should engage in toxic positivity. You don’t have to force yourself to pretend that the hardships don’t hurt.
One of the most profound experiences I’ve encountered over the last several years was when I was going through a rough patch, and I found myself crying daily, feeling sad and lost and uncertain about my future.
I allowed myself to feel all of that pain, but even in the sadness, I still had deep trust that everything would work out for me. I knew in my heart that I would become stronger for this experience. I gave myself permission to explore the depths of my emotions fully while still knowing that the universe would support me and have my back no matter what.
After walking through that experience with faith and trust, I became a little less afraid of future challenges and roadblocks. I knew that in some way, every experience I encountered was a gift, no matter how heavy the world often felt.
I believe we’re all capable of handling so much more than we realize. You are so much stronger and braver and more powerful than you know. You have the ability to face any obstacle, and you also have the ability to step back and discover how your greatest challenges can often be your greatest gifts.
Below are 40 positive affirmations for overcoming challenges, facing adversity, and walking through hard times with dignity and grace. I hope these affirmations remind you that you are strong, capable, and resilient, and that you are capable of meeting all challenges with faith, courage, and undeniable resilience.

Plus, don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of this post to sign up for your free printable solar plexus chakra affirmations and journal prompts!
What is the Solar Plexus Chakra?
Located above your navel, in the center of your torso (you might also refer to it as the pit of your stomach), the solar plexus chakra is your body’s energy center for confidence, positivity, motivation, and drive. I also like to think of it as the chakra that’s associated with all the self words: self-esteem, self-respect, self-image, and self-worth.
When your solar plexus chakra is balanced and aligned, your overall self-image is high. You feel confident in the steps you’re taking, and you wholeheartedly believe in yourself and your ability to succeed.
A balanced solar plexus chakra is also associated with being a good team player. You’re collaborative, confident in your decision making, and have a high sense of integrity.
Blockages and imbalances to the solar plexus chakra are associated with low self-esteem, lack of ambition, and a sense of worthlessness. If the solar plexus chakra is overactive, you may also experience arrogance, hunger for power, and a superiority complex.
Positive affirmations are a powerful way to restore balance to any of your body’s energy centers. Below, you’ll find 35 powerful solar plexus chakra affirmations to activate, balance, and heal your energy center for confidence, positivity, and self-esteem.
And to go even deeper into balancing your solar plexus chakra, I’ve also put together 30 journal prompts to open and heal your solar plexus chakra. You’ll also get these journal prompts, along with the affirmations below, if you sign up for the free printable at the bottom of this post.

What is the Root Chakra?
Located at the base of your spine, your root chakra is your energy center for safety, stability, and staying grounded. You may also hear it referred to as your first chakra, as it’s the lowest energy center in your body.
As the chakra located closest to the earth, the root chakra represents your foundation. This is where you build your inner strength and power so that the flow of energy can easily move freely throughout your entire body.
When your root chakra is balanced, this means that your basic needs are being met: food, shelter, warmth, rest, security, and safety. It also means that you have a good relationship with your body and that you recognize your body’s ability to support and take care of you.
A balanced root chakra also signifies that you feel firm in your place of life. Now, to be clear, this doesn’t mean you have to settle or that you can’t have hopes and dreams for something more. Rather, it means that in this moment, you know you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. It signifies that you trust the path ahead and aren’t living in a space of worry and fear.
If you want to learn more about practices to balance your root chakra, you can check out my post on root chakra healing practices here.
Below, you’ll find 35 root chakra affirmations to help you feel strong, grounded, and secure. You can use these root chakra affirmations in meditation, or you can save them and repeat them whenever your energy feels out of balance and/or misaligned.
I also recommend incorporating root chakra affirmations into your morning routine, as they set you up to approach the day feeling strong and empowered. This means that no matter what happens during the day, you’ll remain calm and peaceful, knowing that you live in a universe that always supports your well-being.
And to go even deeper into balancing your root chakra, I’ve also put together 30 journal prompts to open and heal your root chakra. You’ll also get these journal prompts, along with the affirmations below, if you sign up for the free printable at the bottom of this post.

50 Positive Affirmations for Work – Fuel Your Success
Do you find yourself approaching your workday with a pessimistic attitude and negative thoughts? Do you often feel stressed and agitated while you’re working? Below, discover 50 positive affirmations for work that will help you to remain calm, confident, and centered no matter what’s happening in your external world.
Creating a Positive Work Mindset
Click here to jump straight to the work affirmations.
I used to spend every morning as I got ready for work drowning in nonstop negativity.
At the time, I wasn’t doing work that I felt passionate about. Every morning, I’d show up to the office as early as possible, one of the first ones there, just so I could get the day over with and get out of there as soon as I could.
Deep within, I felt empty and lost. I knew this job wasn’t for me, but I had no idea how to get out of it. It paid me decently, plus offered good benefits. That should’ve been enough, right?
It felt selfish to desire anything more.
Maybe this is just how life is supposed to be, I thought. Maybe nobody is supposed to be happy in their jobs.
On top of that, I really didn’t like my boss. In the morning, as I got ready for work, I’d run through all of the things he’d done recently that made me unhappy. Then, I’d play stories of made-up scenarios in my head where I’d picture him saying and doing even more frustrating things to make me angry.
So it’s not a stretch to say I’d spend a good one to two hours every morning swimming in a sea of pessimism, gloom, and negativity.
And that was all before I even walked out my front door.
Looking back, I can see just how much I allowed external factors to influence my mindset.
Because the truth is, even if I didn’t like my job, the job itself had no inherent power over my emotions. And even if my boss wasn’t my favorite person, he didn’t have power over my energy, either.
I am the only one in charge of my energy.
Every single day, I choose how I feel.
Not my boss. Not my coworkers. Not customers or clients.
Just me.
It wasn’t until I dedicated myself to a consistent morning routine that included meditation, journaling, and positive affirmations that I started to notice shifts in my mindset. More than anything, these practices showed me just how much I was letting negativity control my life.
And it was then that I decided to make a change—to take back my story and not let anything outside of me dictate how I feel.
Do you work in a job you love? Or is it one that pays the bills but doesn’t feel like it’s where you’re meant to be? Are you miserable in your job, only showing up for a consistent paycheck?
No matter your circumstances, you are the only one who can determine what energy you let in, and you’re also the only one who can decide what energy you put back out in the world.
Know this:
You deserve to work in a career you absolutely love.
You deserve to be excited every single morning about the day ahead.
You deserve to fall more and more in love with what you do every single day.
And if you’re not there yet, that’s okay. Choose to view your current position as an opportunity for growth. Find little things every day to be grateful for.
Trust that you are exactly where you’re meant to be right now, and this is leading you to somewhere even better.
How to Use These Affirmations
The 50 positive affirmations for work below are designed to instill positivity, confidence, and peace within. These affirmations are meant to remind you of your inner power and give you the courage and strength to face anything that comes up during your workday.
Some of the affirmations are written to help you cultivate a positive mindset as you get ready for work, and others are midday pick-me-ups that you can use while you’re at work.
Here are some easy yet effective ways to use positive affirmations:
- Write down 3 to 5 positive affirmations every morning.
- Repeat positive affirmations while showering, getting ready for the day, and on your morning commute.
- Set up phone notifications that will pop up intermittently throughout the day with uplifting affirmations written on them.
- Stick post-it notes around your workspace filled with empowering affirmations.
- Make a pact with a friend that you’ll text uplifting messages to each other throughout the day.
- Create a Daily Affirmations board on Pinterest that you can scroll through every time you need a quick pick-me-up.
- Say three positive affirmations every night before going to bed.
(I also post daily affirmations on my Instagram stories every morning, so be sure to connect with me there, too!)
Additionally, start paying attention to your thoughts. Whenever you realize you’re having a negative thought that doesn’t serve or support your total well-being, take control of your thoughts and choose to recite empowering affirmations to yourself instead. You’ll be amazed at how quickly and profoundly your whole world shifts once you start cultivating a more positive mindset.

55×5 Manifestation Affirmations: Examples & How-To
Looking to learn more about the 55×5 Manifestation Method? In this post, learn everything you need to know about this powerful manifesting practice, plus get examples of 55×5 manifestation affirmations you can use as well as tips for how to manifest the life you desire.
What Is The 55×5 Manifestation Method?
The 55×5 (also written as 5×55 or 555) Manifestation Method is fairly straightforward: it simply requires you to choose an affirmation, then write down that affirmation 55 times in a row for 5 days straight.
The affirmation you choose isn’t a typical mindset affirmation, such as I am worthy or I am enough. Rather, a 55×5 manifestation affirmation is what I call a future pacing affirmation. This is an affirmation in which you express joy and gratitude that your desired manifestation goal has already come true.
For instance, if you want to manifest $1,000, your affirmation might be, “I am so grateful I received $1,000 this week!”
Once you’ve chosen your affirmation, on Day 1, you’ll write that affirmation 55 times in a row in a notebook or on a piece of paper. So using the example above, you’d write “I am so grateful I received $1,000 this week!” 55 times in a row.
Then, on Day 2, you’d again write, “I am so grateful I received $1,000 this week!” 55 times in a row.
Days 3, 4, and 5—same thing.
So does this really work? Can you just write a sentence 55 times for 5 days in a row and manifest it into your reality? Is it truly that simple?
Believe it or not, it actually works. I can say this with confidence because it’s worked for me many times throughout my manifestation journey—sometimes before I’ve even finished my five days.
Below, I’ll explain how to make the most out of the 55×5 Manifestation Method and how to get it to work for you so that you can manifest your desires and create the life you’re dreaming of.
And if you’re looking for help getting started, check out the 55×5 Manifestation Method Worksheet, which gives you the opportunity to print and handwrite your affirmations or type directly into the PDF editable document. This easy-to-use worksheet gets powerful results and is the perfect addition to your manifestation practice.

How To Make The 55×5 Manifestation Method Work For You
While the affirmation you choose here is important, the most important aspects of this manifestation method are the emotions, feelings, and frequencies you choose to vibrate.
This is, in fact, the very foundation of manifestation: vibrating at the frequencies of your desires, even before your desires have manifested in your reality.
Want to manifest abundance? Feel abundant now.
Want to manifest love? Feel loved now.
Feel all the positive emotions you’ll feel when your dreams and desires come true.
As you sit to start writing your affirmation 55 times, you want to go into it with a positive, high-vibe mindset. Then, as you begin writing your affirmation, write the words as though they really have come true. Feel the emotions of your affirmation in your bones. Allow yourself to feel true joy, love, gratitude, and positivity.
It doesn’t end there.
When you shut your notebook, don’t shut down those emotions with it. Carry them with you throughout your day. Align yourself with these positive feelings, and truly act as if all of your dreams have come true.
And if you catch yourself falling back into negative habits, that’s okay, Simply choose in that moment to realign with your truth: that you are a powerful creator capable of creating anything you want in this life.
Focus on things to be grateful for in your daily life. Have love and compassion for all stages of your journey.
Note that this is different than being obsessed and preoccupied with when and how your manifestations will come. In fact, I urge you to release the when and how. Hand these details over to the Universe. Trust that the Universe is taking care of all your dreams and desires.
The 55×5 Manifestation Method works because it allows you to set an intention for exactly what you want to manifest and sets the foundation for high vibrations and positive emotions. Your only job is to feel good, cultivate joy, and know that you truly are worthy of having it all.

How To Create 55×5 Manifestation Affirmations
In the next section, I’m going to give you some ideas for 55×5 manifestation affirmations you can use in your writing. If you want to create your own affirmations, here are some tips:
- Keep it short and succinct. You’ll likely be dedicating anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes writing your affirmation down 55 times each day. It’s far easier to keep your vibration high when your affirmation is short and to the point.
- Be specific. Write down exactly what you want. Rather than write “a large amount of money,” write the specific amount of money you want to manifest. If there’s a certain job that you want, write down exactly what that job is. There are some instances when you may not be able to be too specific. For instance, if you want to manifest a date, you might not know who the person is that you’ll be dating. But you can still be specific by describing characteristics of this person or day of the week of your date. For example, you might say, “I am so grateful I’m going on a date with a sweet and funny guy this Saturday!”
- Express gratitude. The two highest vibrations are love and gratitude, and there’s nothing more powerful than approaching this practice with an open heart and a feeling of sincere gratitude. I like to express gratitude by starting out my affirmation with the phrase, “I am so happy and grateful that . . .” It’s also important to feel that gratitude and appreciation in your bones as you’re writing down the affirmation. Approach it with the same feelings you would if this dream really has already come true.
- Pick something you’re truly excited about. You’re about to spend a decent chunk of time for five days straight writing this affirmation. You don’t want to dread this practice—you want to be excited about it. Choose an affirmation and topic that you’ll feel truly excited to sit down and focus your energy on each day.
Examples Of 55×5 Manifestation Affirmations
Below are some examples of how you can phrase your 55×5 manifestation affirmation. Definitely feel free to modify the affirmations to fit your desires. For instance, you can change the amount of money you want to manifest or get specific about the exact make and model of car that you want to manifest.
- I am so happy and grateful for the extra $1,000 I received this week! (Or: “I am so happy and grateful for the extra [insert amount here] I received this week!”)
- I am so grateful that I’m going on a date with the partner of my dreams this Friday!
- I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to work in my dream job.
- Thank you, Universe, for blessing me with inspired ideas to complete my project.
- I’m so grateful the sellers accepted my offer on my dream house!
- I can’t believe I’m going on my dream vacation to Hawaii!
- I am in awe of how this perfect job opportunity fell into my lap this week.
- I feel joyful and thankful that I’m driving my dream car!
- My heart is filled with gratitude for the 5 new clients I signed this week.
- I truly appreciate the extra $5,000 I received this week!
Okay, I’m going to break my own rules a little bit here. If any part of you is nervous or unsure about your manifesting abilities (this is totally normal if you’re just starting out), it’s okay to start small and get a little more general. This will help you to build confidence so that you feel good about manifesting the bigger, more specific stuff. Here are some examples of 55×5 manifestation affirmations you can use if you’re just starting out and want to build your confidence:
- I am so grateful for all the inspired ideas that came to me this week.
- I feel truly thankful for the love that has flowed to and through me all week.
- I am stunned by how everything keeps working out perfectly for me.
- Thank you, Universe, for filling my life with so much abundant joy and love.
- I am awed and thankful for all the incredible opportunities that keep coming my way!
More Tips & Tricks
- Don’t get too preoccupied with the timeline. Part of my daily morning routine is to write down what I’m going to manifest each day. This can be anything from an inspired idea to a joyful moment to a great conversation with a friend. I love choosing small, feel-good things I’m going to create in my daily experience. I’ve noticed that sometimes, that thing I’ve chosen to manifest doesn’t happen that same day, but will often come the next morning or soon after. This has taught me to release my preoccupation with when something is going to manifest. If your chosen affirmation has you receiving $1,000 this week, and it doesn’t come right away, it’s okay. The best thing you can do for yourself is to release your worries about when it’s going to come and simply trust that it will come.
- Make it fun. In the beginning of my manifestation journey, I fell into the trap of taking everything super seriously. I was always worried about doing everything perfectly, and it actually stressed me out to the point where I began to think that maybe manifestation just wasn’t for me. One of the best lessons I’ve learned along the way is to have fun with it! At its heart, manifestation is all about joy, freedom, peace, love, gratitude, and abundance—all the very best things in life.
- Choose a time that works best for you. While I personally prefer to do this practice in the morning, you might feel too rushed in the morning to do this. And the last thing you want is to feel so rushed and hurried that you aren’t aligned with the positive feelings of your affirmation. If nighttime works best for you, that’s totally fine. Just remember to keep the high-vibe emotions throughout your day, and try to be consistent in doing this practice around the same time each day.
- Trust the Universe. The Universe will always give you exactly what you need at exactly the right time. What’s meant for you will never pass you by. And also know that the Universe is your biggest supporter and cheerleader. It wants to see you succeed and is always working behind the scenes to support you in ways you can’t yet see.
- Believe. In order for this practice to work, you have to trust believe it will work. Believe in yourself. Believe in the Universe. Believe that you have so much more power than you know.

42 Body Positive Affirmations for Total Self-Acceptance
Accepting and even loving your body can be a lifelong journey for many, and while it may feel difficult some days, you are absolutely worthy of loving yourself exactly as you are. In this post, discover 42 powerful body positive affirmations to cultivate unconditional self-acceptance and self-love.
Discovering Affirmations
Click here to jump straight to the affirmations.
In 2014, my introduction to affirmations came in the form of body positive affirmations.
I had found a list of 100 body positive affirmations somewhere online and decided to copy it and email it to myself. While I would love to tell you that this discovery propelled me into a journey of total and complete self-love, I’m pretty sure that email stayed at the bottom of my inbox for the next couple years, untouched and ignored.
While I wanted to accept my body completely, I had a hard time accepting myself if I didn’t fit into a perfect box. I really only wanted to love my body on the condition that I could change it and mold it into something that society would deem beautiful.
The following years were filled with hardship and heartbreak as I battled with the girl I saw in the mirror, but I wouldn’t trade those years for anything as they allowed me to learn and grow into the confident, self-loving woman I am now.
Back then, I also had no idea how to use affirmations so that they actually worked. I saw them as nice and uplifting words but didn’t understand their inherent power. I wasn’t sure how to get the words on the screen to resonate inside me.
And if you’re in that place, too, that’s okay. I’ve included some tips below to help you with using body positive affirmations so that they truly resonate with you.
I recommend using the body-positive affirmations in this post in tandem with other types of affirmations, like these affirmations for self-love and these ones for self-confidence. I find that body positive affirmations can be most powerful when used with other types of affirmations that don’t just focus on your body but on all parts of you: your heart, your spirit, your kindness, and your inherent and undeniable worthiness.
How to Use Body Positive Affirmations
While the notes I’m about to give are certainly true for all types of affirmations, I want to emphasize them especially for body positive affirmations because this can be a sensitive subject for many.
You may come to an affirmation in the list below that just feels off. What do I mean by that? Here’s an example:
Imagine that you’re reading the affirmation, “My body is truly beautiful.” You recite it, trying to feel the positive emotions associated with these words, but in the back of your mind, you hear a little voice that says, yeah right.
While you definitely want to be able to say this affirmation with confidence, you’re still on a path of healing your body insecurities, and you may not quite yet be at a place where you can assert that your body is truly beautiful.
And that’s okay.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with you if you experience discomfort with any of the affirmations below (or any affirmations at all, for that matter).
First, if you experience this, release any self-judgment or self-criticism over your discomfort. Know that it’s okay to be exactly where you are in your healing journey. Have compassion for where you currently are, and remember that you don’t have to race to the finish line all at once.
You have the right to take this one step at a time, at your own pace.
When I discover an affirmation that I don’t feel completely comfortable with, I like to employ what I call the Ladder Method. In this method, I take a step back from the original affirmation and alter it in a way that feels more comfortable for me.
For instance, I might use the phrases I am open to . . . or I am willing to . . . in my newly altered affirmation.
Let’s try this with the affirmation I used above: My body is truly beautiful.
How can I alter this in a way that will feel more comfortable for me? I could say, I am open to seeing all the ways in which my body is truly beautiful. Or, I am willing to believe that my body is truly beautiful.
You might use your altered affirmation for a few weeks before taking the next step closer to the original affirmation. Your next step might be something like this: Even though I don’t always see it, I know in my heart that my body is truly beautiful.
Feel empowered to modify any of the affirmations below so that they’ll feel more comfortable for you. It’s also completely okay to skip an affirmation and choose to solely focus on the ones that feel good to you. In time, you might decide to come back to the list and see if any of the other affirmations begin to resonate a little more.
Remember: take this at your own pace, and show yourself unconditional kindness and compassion, no matter what.
